    Hey everyone! Welcome to a new format we're trying out. "bbb", or "Baby b's" as we've been calling it. In between our normal bi-weekly releases we look to get in and drop bite sized episodes with a small sampling of three or four songs in it. And for our first outing we have a magical treat for you... The music of Flamecraft, a truly whimsical fantasy score set to the digital adaptation of the board game of the same name where little dragon buddies help you manage the shops in a small town. Developed and published by Monster Couch, and composed by Pawel Gorniak - The same team that brought us the digital adaption of smash hit Wingspan.     We hope you're fluent in Sploosh, as today Laura takes us swimming through the Splatoon series and all of its wild music and lore. Developed and published by Nintendo, and music composed by primarily by Toru Minegishi, Shiho Fujii. There's a lot to unpack, but the vibes are immaculate as in-game bands sing in a fictional language with all the passion and soul you'd expect from a world ravaged by ink wars by evolved marine life... Developed and published by Square, and music composed by Nobuo Uematsu. Our episode today primarily focuses on breaking down the 4 movements of this 17+ minute song in all its organ glory. This time the 1994 SNES JRPG classic goes to church and progs hard as you build your party up to attack and dethrone god, the ascended Kefka. Special guest Melissa joins us as she learns just how much she does not care for clowns by the end of the episode.     Uh oh, it's another episode with Random Encounters turned on! Joshua braves the hotseat as he puts his mettle to the test with Final Fantasy VI. Developed and published by Square, and music composed by Nobuo Uematsu - This 1994 SNES JRPG classic offers some of the best music and most mature storytelling of the 16-bit era. The question is how well can Joshua link those two together as he's tested on how well he remembers the songs and when they play during the game after decades of play and love for an RPG filled with laughs, heartache, octopus, and trains needing to be suplexed. If you aren't familiar with the game, there's plenty of great music to listen to. If you are, step up to the plate and see if you can fare better than Joshua by the time all is said and done.     Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

    In today's episode the group increases their friendship ratings by discussing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Released in 2024, developed and published by Square Enix (Creative Business Unit 1), this continuation from FF7 Remake is a turn based/action RPG is a reimagining of the 1997 classic that brought JRPGs to the West in a big way on the original PlayStation. Continuing right where the story left off on Remake, we have a whole slew of new settings, side quests, and story bits to chomp through with a varied selection of music both new and old to cover all the bases. While most of the music was originally composed for Final Fantasy VII by Nobuo Uematsu, today also features new arrangements and compositions by Shotaro Shima, Mitsuto Suzuki, Kengo Tokusashi, Ryo Furukawa, Yasunori Nishiki, Yoshinori Nakamura, and Miki Hirose.     Axiom Verge 2

    So we're back with Axiom Verge 2! Today Joshua walks us through this 2021 metroidvania prequel. As with Axiom Verge previous covered here, this game was developed, published, and composed by Thomas Happ. A lot of the similarities end there though as there's a heavy divergence from the heavy synythetic chiptunes with a whole new sound from Happ as Joshua supplies trip hop beats, melodic world music, and the beautiful vocals by Mayssa Karaa lending a bit of spirited life into the mix. A new direction in terms of game and music, it largely remains somehow perfectly aligned with the magic Happ composed before. [Around the 1:00:00 mark we experience a bit of microphone shenanigans for Laura and Chris.
