(Revelation 4 – 5; 21 – 22) Hoping to silence him once and for all, the enemies of the Church exiled the elderly Apostle John to the rocky, isolated island of Patmos. But instead of being silenced, John was given the greatest revelation of his life. One day, Jesus appeared to him in a breathtaking vision, pulling back the curtain of eternity. John looked right into heaven. He saw God seated on a magnificent throne, surrounded by angels and an endless crowd of people from every tribe, nation, and language. Dressed in brilliant white robes and holding palm branches, their voices echoed like thunder as they worshipped: "Holy, holy, holy is God the Almighty!" The vision then swept forward to the end of time, revealing a new heaven and a new earth. John saw a stunning, massive city made of shimmering gold and clear glass, with a beautiful river flowing right through its center. It was a place of absolute perfection. God was living directly among His people, wiping away every tear. Sickness, grief, pain, and death were gone forever. The city didn't even need the sun or the moon, because the radiant glory of God lit the sky completely. Through this awe-inspiring vision, Jesus gave John a final message to send back to the world: He is preparing this beautiful, eternal home right now, and He wants everyone to be there with Him too.

Signs of Jesus’ Return (Matthew 24–25; Mark 13) Before leaving earth, Jesus warns His disciples about the "end of the age." He explains that before His return, the world will experience wars, famines, earthquakes, and the rise of false prophets. His followers will face severe persecution, but the Holy Spirit will guide their words, and the Gospel will reach all nations. Finally, cosmic signs will darken the sky, and Jesus will return in the clouds with great glory. He will judge all of humanity, separating them like a shepherd separates sheep (the righteous who cared for others and inherit eternal life) from goats (those who ignored the needy and face eternal punishment). Because no one knows the day or hour of His return, His ultimate command is to always "Watch!"

But instead of despairing, the two men spent the midnight hours singing hymns to God. Suddenly, a violent earthquake shattered their chains and threw the prison doors wide open. The terrified jailer woke up. Assuming the prisoners had escaped and knowing he would be executed, he drew his sword to take his own life. "Stop!" Paul shouted from the dark. "We are all here!" Trembling with relief and awe, the jailer fell before them, asking how to be saved. "Believe in the Lord Jesus," Paul answered. That very night, the jailer and his entire family were baptized, trading their fear for joy. The next morning, the city judges tried to quietly release them. However, upon learning they had illegally beaten Roman citizens, the panicked judges were forced to come to the jail, apologize personally, and respectfully escort Paul and Silas out of the city.

While traveling to Damascus to arrest more believers of Jesus, he was struck down by a blinding light from heaven and heard the voice of Jesus. Blinded and humbled, Saul was led into the city where a hesitant believer named Ananias was sent by God to heal him. After scales fell from his eyes and he was baptized, Saul began boldly preaching that Jesus is the Son of God. Despite facing death threats from his former Jewish allies and skepticism from the disciples in Jerusalem, Saul—later known as Paul—was eventually embraced after Barnabas spoke for him. He became a primary messenger of the Gospel to the Gentiles.

Empowered, the disciples began speaking in various foreign languages, allowing visitors from across the Roman Empire to hear the "wonders of God" in their own native tongues. When some onlookers mocked them as being drunk, Peter stood and delivered a bold sermon, explaining that this was the work of God and that Jesus—whom they had crucified—was the risen Lord and Christ. Stricken by the truth, the crowd asked how to respond; Peter called them to repent and be baptized. That day, 3,000 people joined the faith, forming a devoted​ Christian community that shared everything, prayed together, and grew daily.

In Galilee, He gave His followers the Great Commission: to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching His commands. Before His final departure, He led them to a hill near Jerusalem and promised they would receive power from the Holy Spirit to be His witnesses across the globe. As He ascended into heaven, a cloud hid Him from their sight. Two angels appeared to the staring disciples, promising that Jesus will return in the same way He left. The followers then returned to Jerusalem, gathered in an upstairs room, and devoted themselves to prayer as they waited for the promised Spirit.

To illustrate this, He told the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus. On earth, the rich man lived in luxury while ignoring the suffering beggar, Lazarus, at his gate. In the afterlife, their roles reversed: Lazarus was comforted in heaven with Abraham, while the rich man suffered in agony. When the rich man begged for Lazarus to warn his living brothers, Abraham explained that if they do not believe the Word of God, they will not be convinced even by someone rising from the dead. Jesus used this to emphasize that salvation and eternal life come only through believing in Him.

Jesus suddenly appeared among them, offering peace and proving His physical reality by showing His wounds and eating a piece of fish. He explained that His suffering and rising fulfilled the Scriptures and commissioned them to preach repentance to all nations, granting them the Holy Spirit. Thomas, who was absent and skeptical, famously declared he would not believe without physical proof. A week later, Jesus appeared again specifically for Thomas, inviting him to touch His wounds. Thomas confessed Him as "My Lord and my God," prompting Jesus to bless all future believers who would believe without seeing.
