Jesus Led: Talks is a podcast curated for the born again believer and those seeking TRUTH. As we journey through daily sanctification, often times the pruning, pressing and persecution may seem like we are walking this walk alone. I assure you, YOU-ARE-NOT. Let’s talk about it THE JESUS WAY. All conversations will direct us back to the cross.     What is temptation, where does it come from, and how do we overcome it? In this episode of Jesus Led Talks, we take a biblical look at temptation and the tactics of the enemy. We examine how temptation appeals to our desires, how the enemy seeks to deceive and entice us, and what it looks like to stand firm instead of giving in. We walk through James 1:12–15, Hebrews 4:14–16, Matthew 4:1–11, Matthew 6:5–13, and 1 John 2:15–17, looking at temptation through the lens of Scripture and the example of Jesus. We discuss: • How temptation works and where it can lead • The difference between being tempted and giving into sin • The enemy’s tactics and how he seeks to deceive • Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness and how He responded • The lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and pride of life • The importance of prayer and dependence on God • How our desires can become an entry point for temptation • Why we must set our minds on the things above rather than the things of this world • How believers can run to Christ for mercy and grace in the midst of temptation Jesus was tempted, yet He did not sin. Because He is our High Priest, we can come boldly to the throne of grace and receive mercy and grace when we need it. Together, we walk through Daniel 3, Matthew 10:28, and Revelation 21:8 as we discuss the fear of God, the fear of man, repentance, and the call to worship God alone. We also reference other passages that warn against idolatry and remind us that Jesus is returning for a spotless Bride. My prayer is that this episode leads you to search the Scriptures, test everything against God’s Word, and follow Jesus Christ above every other allegiance.
