Welcome back to another episode of Hooligan Nation: A KISS-Centric Podcast — As the KISS-World Turns, where Anthony, Father Rocco, Black Diamond Dave and DD-Deb dive into another batch of KISStory, controversy and current KISS news. 🎸 KISS DESTROYS ANAHEIM ’76 Fifty years after KISS stormed Anaheim Stadium on August 20, 1976, the legendary concert has finally received its first official release. KISS Destroys Anaheim ’76 captures the original lineup of Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley and Peter Crissduring the Destroyer era in front of more than 42,000 fans—the band's largest audience up to that point. The concert was originally recorded by legendary producer Eddie Kramer, who returned to newly mix the show from the original multitrack tapes for this release.  The Hooligans break down the release and ask: 🔥 Does Anaheim ’76 live up to its legendary reputation? 🎸 How does it compare to KISS' other classic live releases? 💿 And should the KISS vault be opened for MORE archival concerts? But that's only the beginning... 👨‍👦 STANLEY SIMMONS We also discuss Stanley Simmons, the musical collaboration between Paul Stanley's son Evan Stanley and Gene Simmons' son Nick Simmons—and the criticism they've received for performing under their famous last names. Their response? They're literally their names. Evan and Nick have addressed the criticism surrounding the decision, explaining that the project came together organically and that “Stanley Simmons” simply made sense to them.  So the Hooligans ask: Are they capitalizing on two of the most famous names in rock—or would it be ridiculous NOT to use their actual names? And then Gene Simmons gives us the biggest discussion of the episode... 👹 DOES KISS NEED PERMISSION TO BE KISS? In a recent interview, Gene explained that following the deal involving the KISS brand and Pophouse, KISS can't simply decide tomorrow to put the makeup back on and perform another KISS concert. According to Gene, because Pophouse controls rights associated with KISS—including the makeup and other assets—a future traditional KISS performance would require Pophouse's approval.  Think about that for a second... Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons helped create KISS. But can Paul and Gene now simply decide: “We're putting KISS back together.”? Apparently, it's no longer entirely their decision.
