    Nothing But Jesus - Jeremy Prowse

    Life can get busy. Even good things—work, relationships, celebrations and achievements—can fill our minds. Then there are the hard things: pain, confusion, disappointment and questions. Before we realise it, our attention can slowly drift from Jesus. Paul said, “I resolved to know nothing except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.” What if we made that our focus too? Jesus is not just one part of our lives. He is everything. He is our Creator, Redeemer, Restorer and Prince of Peace. And when we want to know what God is like, we can look to Jesus. He reveals the Father’s heart perfectly. The beautiful truth is that Jesus doesn’t turn away when we do. He pursues us, meets us in our brokenness and makes a way for us to come near. In Him, we are holy, flawless and restored. So this week, take a moment to pause and remember Jesus. Who is He to you? What has He done in your life? What would change if He became the focus of your heart again? There may be many things competing for our attention, but there is no one like Jesus.

    He is Sovereign - Rick Velvin

    Life has a way of confronting us with questions we can't answer. We experience disappointment, loss, sickness, or uncertainty, and it's easy to wonder what God is doing. In those moments, we can be tempted to focus on what we don't know rather than on who God is. The Bible reminds us that God is sovereign. He sees the beginning from the end, and His plans are never caught off guard. While we may not understand His ways, we can trust His heart. Everything He does is shaped by His perfect goodness, wisdom, mercy, and love. Psalm 23 gives us a beautiful picture of this truth. The sovereign Lord is also our Shepherd. He leads us, restores us, guides us, and stays close through every valley we face. His presence doesn't remove every hardship, but it does give us peace and confidence that we never walk alone. Perhaps today you're waiting for answers or carrying questions that haven't been resolved. Take comfort in knowing that God is still at work, even when you can't yet see the bigger picture. His goodness continues to pursue you, His faithfulness never fails, and His love never changes. This week, may we choose to trust the Shepherd, praise Him in every season, and rest in the assurance that He is always faithful.

    Returning to God - Christine Saywell

    Hosea 14 reveals the unchanging heart of God: relentless in love, holy in character, and always pursuing restored relationship with His people. Throughout Hosea, Israel repeatedly turns to idols, self-reliance, and the surrounding culture, yet God continues to call them home. This same love is seen fully in Jesus, who came to seek sinners and restore intimacy with the Father. Repentance is not about trying harder or cleaning ourselves up before approaching God; it is about returning honestly to Him, confessing our need, and agreeing with Him about sin, trust, and surrender. Hosea’s prayer of repentance teaches that restoration involves both the heart and the hands: trusting God instead of substitutes, and abandoning the things we have built or depended on apart from Him. God promises healing, fruitfulness, stability, and renewed life to those who return. True flourishing is found not apart from God, but in close connection with Him. The invitation of Hosea is clear: leave behind what disconnects you from God and walk again in His love, wisdom, and life.

    A Heart That Recoils - Jason Clarke

We've all ignored God's gentle warnings at times—a prompting from the Holy Spirit, a challenging verse, or wise advice from someone who cares. The danger isn't that God stops speaking, but that our hearts become less willing to listen. Hosea 11 reminds us that although Israel repeatedly turned away from God, He never stopped loving them. Instead, He cried out, "How can I give you up?" One of the most beautiful images in this chapter is that God's heart recoils within Him. Faced with His people's rebellion, His heart is moved with deep compassion. Rather than giving up on them, His desire is to restore them. We see the fullness of that love in Jesus. Where we have failed, Jesus remained faithful. At the cross, God's perfect justice and perfect mercy met. Jesus took the punishment we deserved so that we could be forgiven and welcomed back into relationship with our Heavenly Father. Maybe you've been carrying guilt or feel like you've drifted too far from God. Hosea reminds us that you are never beyond His reach. God's heart still recoils at the thought of losing His children. His desire is always to draw us back to Himself. This week, don't ignore His gentle invitation. Bring your burdens, your failures, and your heart to the Father. Through Jesus, you are forgiven, deeply loved, and welcomed home.

    Life can get busy, and it's easy to forget who we really are. We can carry old hurts, believe lies about ourselves, or feel weighed down by our mistakes. But God lovingly invites us to stop, come close, and remember one simple truth: you belong to Him. The story of Hosea reminds us that even when God's people wandered away, His desire was always to restore them. Through Jesus, that invitation is still open today. We aren't defined by our failures or our past. We are chosen, deeply loved, and welcomed into a new life with Him. Growing in faith isn't about trying harder—it's about staying close to Jesus. As we spend time in prayer, worship, and God's Word, He gently transforms our hearts. He helps us let go of the things that hold us back and reminds us of the freedom He has already won for us. Whatever this week brings, remember that God's love for you hasn't changed. His grace is still enough, His arms are still open, and His invitation remains the same: trust Him, walk with Him, and let Him shape you into the person He created you to be. Every new day is another opportunity to live in the joy of belonging to Him.

    The book of Hosea reminds us of God's unwavering love and His desire for a close relationship with His people. Israel didn't turn away from God overnight. Small compromises, divided loyalties, and neglected priorities slowly led them away from Him. Yet even in their wandering, God continued to pursue them with grace and compassion. A key lesson from Hosea is the principle of sowing and reaping. Every thought, attitude, decision, and action is a seed that will eventually produce a harvest. The challenge is that growth often happens slowly. The seeds we plant today may not show fruit immediately, but over time they shape the direction of our lives. The good news is that through Jesus Christ, we are not defined by our past failures. His death and resurrection have provided forgiveness, freedom, and a new beginning. We are invited to leave old patterns behind and sow seeds of faith, kindness, forgiveness, prayer, worship, and obedience. Every day is an opportunity to plant something that reflects God's kingdom. Small acts of faithfulness may seem insignificant, but God uses them to transform hearts, families, communities, and future generations. As Hosea declares, "Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing love." What seeds are you planting today, and what harvest are you trusting God to bring in the future?

    Life can leave people carrying hurt, disappointment, fear, and exhaustion beneath the surface. Yet God’s love meets us deeply and personally, bringing healing, hope, and restoration where it’s needed most. His love softens hardened places in our hearts, reminds us who we are in Him, and brings us from despair into life. The story of Hosea paints a beautiful picture of God’s heart toward His people. Even after wandering away and forgetting Him, God continued to pursue them with compassion and faithfulness. Again and again, He reached out with mercy instead of rejection. His love was always greater than their failure. God does not simply invite us into religion or routine — He invites us into relationship. Knowing Him is not just about facts or information; it is about walking closely with Him every day. As we spend time with Him, our hearts begin to change. We become more compassionate, more forgiving, and more aware of His presence in every season of life. It is easy for distractions and busyness to slowly take priority in our lives, but God lovingly calls us back to Himself. True peace, rest, and security are found in Him alone. No matter what struggles or uncertainties we face, God remains faithful. He is our comfort, refuge, and strength. As we receive His love, we are also called to share it — encouraging one another, praying for one another, and helping others experience the hope and life found in Jesus.
