    EP26: Words Like Fire

Show notes      This week we turn to James 3 and the weight our words carry- to bless or to curse, to build up or to tear down. James 3:8-10 reminds us that the same mouth that blesses God can wound the people made in His image, “these things ought not to be so.”    But before we talk about taming the tongue, we return to the foundation: belovedness before behavior, attachment before transformation. This episode’s practice: return to the two phrases from our foundation series-   “I turn my face to the one who delights in me” and “the one who joyfully delights in me is looking at me with love”    From that place of belovedness, ask God what He wants to transform in your own heart that would change how you speak this week.    Conviction is love, not shame.   We want to hear from you!   Contact us at  wholefamilypodcast@icloud.com

    EP25: Abiding Leads To Attachment

Show notes    ABIDING LEADS TO ATTACHMENT   What if transformation isn’t about trying harder — but about who you’re looking at? In this episode we open in 2 Corinthians 3:18 and follow the thread of beholding, attachment, and what it actually means to be formed into the image of Christ.    This is the foundation message for a new series on character formation — and it starts not with behavior, but with belovedness. We talk about why we can’t change our deepest deformities of character on our own, how attachment shapes us from infancy, what broke in us at the beginning, and how salvation restores the original wound. And we land on a simple daily practice that opens the door to this transformational relationship.   This Week’s Practice: Speak these two phrases daily — in the ordinary moments of your day: I turn my face to the one who delights in me. The one who joyfully delights in me is looking at me with love.   Scriptures Referenced: 2 Corinthians 3:16-18 // Colossians 1:15 // Hebrews 1:3 // 1 John 3:1 // 1 John 4:12-16 // Ephesians 2:19 // Philippians 3:12-14, 20 // Romans 8:15 // Hebrews 4:12 // 1 Corinthians 2:16 // 1 John 3:18 Referenced: Jim Wilder, Renovated — NavPress, 2020   The Whole Family Podcast is available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.   We want to hear from you!   Contact us at  wholefamilypodcast@icloud.com

    EP24: Faith And Provision

LOOK UP Have you ever been searching for what you need — strategizing, solving, scanning every practical option — and missed that the provision was already there, just above your line of sight? In this episode, Megan shares a dream that stopped her in her tracks: a meme about someone looking everywhere for toilet paper, only to finally look up and find a full, unopened pack sitting on top of the refrigerator. It’s a simple image with a lot of weight. This message explores what it looks like to reorient your gaze — from the horizontal scramble of striving to the upward posture of trust. We look at what scripture says about how God provides, why He pre-sees what we need before we ask, and what it means to receive provision as a beloved child rather than earn it as a laborer. Philippians 4:19 sets the standard: He provides according to the riches of His glory — not according to your strategy. Look up.

EP23: The Fire That Goes Before You

Your opposition has a name and a number. So does your God. In this message from Judges 4, we look at how God spoke victory before the battle started, went before His people into impossible odds, and used the most unlikely weapons to break the most entrenched opposition — and why that same pattern is still true for what you're facing today.

    EP22: Reclaiming Prophecy

The Gift That Was Always For You: Prophecy & the Ordinary Body of Christ   Prophecy was never meant for the stage — it was always meant to be the love language of God, spoken through ordinary people to the person next to them who needs to know they're seen.   In this episode, we take the gift back to where it actually started in Scripture, before it became something to perform or achieve.    We talk about why so many spiritually hungry people are drawn to tarot, energy work, and "the universe sending signs" — and what that hunger is really pointing toward. We look at what Paul actually says prophecy is for in 1 Corinthians 14, the moment a stranger falls on their face because "God is really among you," and why directional, destiny-shaped words are real — but were never meant to be the measure of the gift.   Whether you're spiritually curious, new to faith, or someone who's loved and been wary of this gift in equal measure — this one's for you.   We want to hear from you!   Contact us at  wholefamilypodcast@icloud.com

EP21: Our Father; Close Contact of the God Kind

Show notes    Jesus taught His disciples many things, but when they asked Him how to pray, He began with two simple words: “Our Father.” In this message, we explore the fatherhood of God through Scripture and through the lens of every stage of life, from infancy to adulthood.    Discover how God reveals Himself as a loving Father who gives identity, delight, belonging, guidance, correction, and unwavering presence.   Whether your experience with earthly fathers was beautiful, painful, or somewhere in between, this message is an invitation to encounter the Father Jesus came to reveal.    Through Christ, we are welcomed home, adopted into God's family, and invited to live as secure sons and daughters who know they are loved, know who they are, and know where they belong.   Scriptures: Matthew 6:9 Genesis 1:26 Genesis 2:8, 16-17 Genesis 3:8, 21 Deuteronomy 32:6 Isaiah 63:16 Matthew 3:17 Matthew 5:9, 16 Luke 2:49 John 20:17 Romans 8:14-17 Galatians 4:4-7 1 John 3:1 Luke 15:11-32   Reflect This Week: Where do I still relate to God through performance instead of sonship? What would change if I truly believed I belong in the Father's family? How is God inviting me to experience His love, presence, and delight in this season?     We want to hear from you!   Contact us at  wholefamilypodcast@icloud.com

EP19: The Good News and IRIS

Show notes    Why do we long to be known, yet fear being fully seen?   Using a powerful moment from Deltopia and the song Iris, this episode explores our search for identity, belonging, and connection.    We look at how Jesus entered our world, understands our struggles, and invites us into a lasting identity as children of God.    Scriptures John 1:10-13   Reflect This Week What part of yourself do you hide from others? What is currently shaping your identity? What would change if you truly believed you are God's beloved child?   The invitation of Jesus is simple: come as you are, be known, be loved, and discover who you were created to be.     We want to hear from you!   Contact us at  wholefamilypodcast@icloud.com
