Welcome to The Freakin' Shack... Mind our ghost on your way in... and don't worry about the spirit cat. He mostly ignores people, but likes a soft lap. The kettle's on, the light's swinging, and there's always room for one more around the fire. Every week we disappear down a different rabbit hole, exploring the strange, the spooky, the downright bizarre, and the stories that make you say, "Surely that can't be true..." (Spoiler: quite often it is.) From ghosts and cryptids to forgotten history, UFOs, folklore, ancient mysteries, and all the wonderfully weird and unexplained bits of our world. We love asking questions that don't always have answers. We're not experts pretending to know everything. We're just two curious people who enjoy a good story, a good laugh, and occasionally questioning our own sanity after reading far too much about haunted pubs, mysterious lights, or Antient Romans who may or may not have seen something very odd in the sky. We're here for the full-on believers, those with an open mind, our wonderful hardened sceptics, or just those who enjoy the weird side of life, - come in,  join us, you're among friends. So grab your favourite brew & settle into your favourite chair... the light is swinging.. Welcome to The Freakin' Shack

    OH HELL NO!

This week we dive into a chilling true story sent in & credited to: ‘Gary D up in Ontario, Canada’. Back in the late 1980s, Gary re-tells his own story from when he was a young salesman driving through rural Virginia in the dead of night when he stumbled upon a run down, eerie gas station that felt frozen in time. Inside: a fierce old woman, a filthy restroom… and something that really should not have been there. His reaction was instant and unforgettable: “HELL NO!” What followed was a frantic escape, a confrontation and a nightmare of a night he’s never forgotten. Was it exhaustion? A glitch? Something paranormal? Or something far stranger? Following the story, we unpack a bit of Gary’s experience, ask the questions he couldn’t, and invite you—our listeners—to weigh in on what might really have been happening in that creepy Virginia gas station Story credited to; ‘Gary D up in Ontario Canada’  Gary D Link: https://www.instagram.com/gary_d_up_in_ontario_canada?utm_source=qr    How You Can Help Us Grow Subscribe/ or follow us on  YouTube/Podcast — it helps more than you think Leave a rating or review on your podcast app Share this episode with someone who loves true tales and strange encounters Send us your own story — we might feature it next shackpackinbox@gmail,com Join our social media community and discuss theories with other listeners Your support keeps these stories alive and helps us bring more real life mysteries to the show. key words: true scary story, real paranormal encounter, creepy gas station story, 1980s road trip horror, strange true tales, mysterious encounter, listener story submission, supernatural podcast episode, unexplained events, creepy true story
