The Flood That Forced Me to Let Go of Over 50 Years of Memories

Send us Fan Mail Have you ever had that little whisper in your spirit telling you it’s time to let something go—and you just kept ignoring it? For months, maybe even a year, I’ve felt God telling me that I needed to purge my old life to make room for my new one. And apparently, I wasn’t listening closely enough. In this episode, I’m talking about what happened when that whisper became impossible to ignore. I share a very personal experience involving nostalgia, memories I’ve held onto for decades, an absolutely devastating flood, and the unexpected spiritual lesson I found in the middle of all of it. We’re talking about letting go of the past, listening to divine guidance, making room for a new chapter, and why sometimes the things we’re desperately holding onto may be exactly what we’re being asked to release. Episode Highlights [0:02] - Why I’ve been hearing the message to purge my old life and make room for my new one. [1:29] - Confession: I’m a saver! The childhood memories, letters, pictures, cards, and sentimental things I’ve held onto for decades. [2:35] - The idea that God first speaks to us in a whisper—and what can happen when we keep ignoring the message. [4:40] - Three massive floods at my parents’ house and why dealing with them during my divorce made an already difficult season even harder. [5:10] - A quick look at my Becoming Whole Again divorce mentorship program and supporting women through the emotional fallout of toxic divorce. [7:10] - Walking into the aftermath of the latest flood and discovering what happened to the memories I’d stored for so many years. [8:33] - The emotional and physical reality of sorting through everything—and the irony of finally receiving the message I’d been ignoring. [9:31] - Letting go of papers, accounts, and pieces of a life that simply don’t belong in my life anymore. [10:43] - Why this “big purge” became so symbolic of where I am today and how surprisingly good it felt to lighten my load. [12:12] - My takeaway for you: when God whispers, listen. The Dark Side of Spiritual Healing

Send us Fan Mail What happens when spiritual healing gets uncomfortable? In this deeply honest conversation, I’m opening up about the “dark side” of healing—the unhealed wounds, limiting beliefs, fears, and emotional patterns that don’t magically disappear just because we’ve done inner work. I share how recent challenges forced me to confront old coping mechanisms and recognize that growth doesn’t stop just because we’ve reached a new level of awareness.  I also talk about the powerful shift I’m learning right now: moving out of hyper-independence and into receiving. From reflecting on my toxic divorce healing journey to navigating feminine and masculine energy, this episode is a vulnerable look at what it really means to evolve spiritually while still being human. If you’ve ever felt frustrated, stuck, or tested during your own growth journey, this conversation will remind you that healing is rarely linear—but it’s always worth it.  Episode Highlights [0:02] - Why we rarely talk about the dark side of spiritual healing and shadow work [1:33] - Reflecting on how my toxic divorce became the foundation of my healing journey [2:24] - The realization that growth comes in layers and new challenges always emerge [3:34] - Letting go of my “old self” and learning to embrace the unknown [4:20] - Recognizing when God is presenting lessons and watching myself react in real time [5:06] - How recent struggles reminded me of the emotional spirals during my divorce [6:39] - Introducing my “Becoming Whole Again” divorce mentorship program for women healing from toxic relationships [8:02] - Understanding how God breaks us down in order to rebuild us stronger [9:30] - The mindset shift from control and overthinking into peace, calm, and surrender [10:15] - Realizing my biggest lesson right now is learning how to receive help [11:05] - Exploring feminine energy, hyper-independence, and asking God for guidance [12:32] - Why challenges are necessary for growth and how true healing builds self-trust [13:52] - Final reflections on owning your progress and being proud of the work you’ve done Be sure to follow, share, and leave a comment if this show resonates with you!
