Don’t Ruin This for Us! This is Our Night!

What up, Fermented Folks? In this episode, we’re joined by a rising star in the horror genre, Bram Stoker Award-nominated PNW horror author Neena Viel. And we’re debating a film that you may not have seen…that you may not have even heard of, but that has nonetheless taken insidious roots in the cult classic discussion for horror fans. That movie: Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon. This film blends comedy with horror in a mockumentary format that follows Leslie Vernon, aspiring slasher, as he sets up his latest killing spree. But do they effectively pull off this near-impossible balance? The Dice Gods will let their will be known. Psssstttt... have you liked, commented, subscribed, and shared? Well, don’t worry... It’s not too late! DO IT NOW! Also, have you checked out all Neena’s work? You’ll need to do that as well, or frankly, you’re depriving yourself of some truly awesome contributions to the creative realm! Obsessed with being Obsessed with Obsession

What up, Fermented Folks? This week, we dive into our own Kitty Cat Blues with an in-depth analysis of grief and toxic relationship dynamics through the lens of horror, with guest Jamie Lee Sogn. But does Obsession deserve the MASSIVE amount of hype being heaped up on it? Or maybe its out-of-nowhere appeal belies a shallower story than the emotions it evokes can cover up on repeat viewings. Ultimately, it’s not our decision to make this decision, at least not during the debate portion…that is for the Dice Gods to decide. Psssstttt... have you liked, commented, subscribed, and shared? Well, don’t worry... It’s not too late! DO IT NOW! Also, have you checked out all Jamie’s work? Somebody Get These Beggars Out of Here!

What up, Fermented Folks? Who fired those shots at Jeremy? Incensed Travis? Enraged Clay… who else but our old frenemy CS Humble, under the moniker of “Nobody” for this highly anticipated debate of Nolan’s Odyssey? But which side of this classical myth brought to modern film shall the Dice Gods place us upon? Was it an accurate interpretation of the original story's intent and soul? Or did Nolan’s obsession with wide shots, world-building, and modern dialogue rob this ancient story of it’s essential, atiquitous roots? Tune in to find out! Fist my Bump?

What up, Fermented Folks? We weren’t crying during this movie! You were crying! But is that because we were so emotionally moved by the power of Drew Goddard’s words…by the performances…by the plight of dying worlds and unexpected heroes? Or did all of those things just make us sad at the downfall of what could have been a wonderful show? On top of that, Tanya Pell is sure to bring all the available heat to this debate, so that’s sure to be a good time. Stay tuned to see how the dice gods influence our fates. Neuro-divergence, Demons, and Death

What up, Fermented Folks? This week we debate the classic horror film Hereditary which, by many accounts, is one of the scariest films of the past 15 years. We’ll be getting into mental health, demon possession, telephone-pole-decapitations, and much more. But will our guest despise this film as much as Jeremy? Is that even possible? IF she rolls low, we will find out. Psssstttt... have you liked, commented, subscribed, and shared? Well, don’t worry... It’s not too late! DO IT NOW! Also, have you checked out all Elizabeth’s work? The Mist: Hella-Dope or Overhyped?

What up, Fermented Folks? This week, we debate the 2007 film adaptation of Stephen King’s The Mist with fellow PNW-gothic author Josh Millican. Back when this film first came out, it was acclaimed as an instant horror classic, but here in the heart of the horror renaissance, we look back through a different lens. Does the story hold up with the same questionable resonance as the special effects, or is this tale of mob mentality, morality, and isolation as timeless as its irrefutably impactful ending? Tune in to find out! PS. Have you checked out Josh’s utterly dope writing? If not, be sure to do that immediately. Specifically, check out his latest novel, Dopefoot, at this here link!
