    COLLEGE FOOTBALL WEEK 2 IS HERE. Week 1 was cupcakes, extra seconds, and a Hail Mary nobody asked for. Saturday is the first weekend that actually matters.The schedule makers put No. 1 Ohio State on a plane to Austin to play No. 4 Texas in a rematch of last year’s 14-7 slog in Columbus. College GameDay is on the lawn of the LBJ Library. ABC’s A-team is in the booth. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. ET. Two brands. Two Heisman quarterbacks. One field that has not hosted a top-five visitor like this in a generation. Julian Sayin and Jeremiah Smith walked through Ball State 56-3. Arch Manning, Ryan Wingo, and Cam Coleman dropped 59 on Texas State. Last year Manning got swallowed in the Horseshoe and Texas spent the rest of the season climbing out of a 0-1 hole. This time the Longhorns are home, they’re a tiny favorite, and the line opened Texas -1.5 with the total sitting around 49.5. One possession. First real CFP resume stamp of the year. Lose this and you already used one of your mulligans. Before that, noon on FOX: No. 11 Oklahoma at Michigan. The Sooners crushed UTEP 51-0 and brought the defense to Ann Arbor. Michigan just survived Western Michigan 13-12 because somebody put one second back on the clock and Bryce Underwood found JJ Buchanan on a 47-yard prayer. Kyle Whittingham’s debut. The MAC appealed. The NCAA said no. The line has already sprinted to Oklahoma -5.5. Total around 43.5. Michigan is still unranked in the AP. The Big House is loud and extremely on edge. Then 3:30 on ABC: No. 12 Alabama at Kentucky. Kalen DeBoer’s Tide opened with 48-10 over East Carolina. Will Stein’s first real test in Lexington after 45-13 over Youngstown State. Alabama owns this series. The Wildcats are getting 10 and a half at home with the total near 49. SEC Nation in town. First-year coach. First SEC Saturday. History says Alabama.     FOOTBALL IS BACK. The 2026 NFL season is officially here, and the schedule makers decided a Super Bowl rematch on Wednesday wasn’t enough chaos. Night two is an NFC West blood feud on the other side of the planet. We’re getting the Rams and 49ers at the Melbourne Cricket Ground — the first regular-season NFL game in Australia — Thursday at 8:35 p.m. ET on Netflix. More than 100,000 people packed into a cricket stadium to watch Sean McVay vs. Kyle Shanahan for the millionth time. Neutral field. Fifteen-hour flights. Friday morning kickoff local time. No warm-up. No SoFi. No Levi’s. Just two 12-5 teams who both got run over by Seattle in the playoffs last year, opening the season 8,000 miles from home. The Rams get to walk in as Super Bowl favorites. Reigning MVP Matthew Stafford has Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, and Kyren Williams. Myles Garrett makes his Rams debut. The defense got rebuilt on purpose. The one thing they do not have Thursday: Aaron Donald. He came out of retirement, signed, and then did not get on the plane. Shanahan said he’s never been more excited to be wrong. San Francisco is trying to start Year 10 under Shanahan with Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey, plus Mike Evans in the building. Nick Bosa and George Kittle made the trip after the ACL and Achilles, but nobody knows how many snaps they actually get. Alfred Collins, the guy who forced that goal-line fumble against L.A. last year, tore his patellar tendon in Melbourne this week and is done for the season. Ricky Pearsall is already gone for the year. Last time these two played, the Rams dropped 42 on San Francisco in Santa Clara. The line opened Rams -2.5 and has been bet up to about a field goal and a half. Total sits around 48.5. L.A. is trying to look like a dynasty before Week 1 even starts. The 49ers have had extra days on the ground Down Under while the Rams landed late. And we get all of it on NIGHT TWO, on Netflix, in a stadium that has never seen an NFL snap.
