Layla Bouzoubaa – AI, Substance Use, and Stigma Reduction

In this episode, I sit down with Layla Bouzoubaa, a PhD candidate at Drexel University, to explore her fascinating research on the lived experiences of individuals with substance use disorders (SUD). Layla’s work delves into the narratives shared on social media, uncovering insights into recovery, stigma, and the evolving landscape of SUD in the digital age. Through her research, Layla aims to reduce stigma and promote compassion, using these stories to challenge stereotypes and bring new perspectives to the field. We discuss her methods, key findings, and how listening to real voices can inspire positive change in society’s approach to substance use and recovery. Join us to gain insights into the power of social media in shaping SUD narratives, and Layla’s vision for a more understanding, less harmful approach to substance use. 👥 Guest: Layla Bouzoubaa, PhD Candidate, Drexel University 🔗 Learn more about Layla’s work: laylab.net 🙋‍♂️ Find me on: https://halflingwizard.github.io 🎁 Support the Channel: If you’d like to support my work, you can check out my wishlist here: https://www.amazon.com/registries/gl/...
