Why is your baby reacting to meat stock? Histamine and glutamate intolerance explained.

Is your baby reacting to meat stock? There's a biological reason it's happening, and Laila breaks it down in this episode. Meat stock has become a staple in many "gut healing" and ancestral eating approaches, but it's surprisingly high in two chemical compounds that reactive babies often struggle with: histamine and glutamate. These aren't true allergies, but they can cause very real symptoms, and in this episode Laila explains exactly why some babies react, what's going on in their gut, and what parents can do about it. Laila also unpacks the growing trend of ancestral food approaches to starting solids. Liver, bone broth, organ meats at six months old. While these foods can be nourishing, for babies with gut imbalances or chemical sensitivities, they can also be a significant trigger. Starting solids looks different for every family, and Laila's message is clear: there is no single right way. If you've been following an ancestral or traditional foods approach and your baby is still reacting, this episode will help you understand why, and what to consider instead. Making sense of your baby’s symptoms: is it an allergy, intolerance or something else?

If your baby is experiencing symptoms like reflux, eczema, unsettled behaviour, mucus and blood in stools, or ongoing digestive discomfort, it can be difficult to know what’s actually going on. In this episode, we break down the difference between food allergies, food intolerances, and other possible causes behind your baby’s symptoms. This is perfect if you suspect your baby has a food allergy but you still aren't sure. You’ll learn how to recognise common patterns, why many babies are dismissed as “normal,” and how to start thinking about symptoms in a clearer, more informed way. We also explore why some babies improve over time while others continue to struggle, and what this can mean when you’re trying to decide what to do next. What you’ll learn:  The difference between food allergies and food intolerances  Common symptoms and how they show up in babies  Why symptoms are often misunderstood or dismissed  How to start making sense of what’s happening in your baby’s bodyFind more information on WWW.OHHEALTHYBABY.COM or find us on all social platforms as ohhealthybaby. FPIES isn't rare it's just misdiagnosed: everything you need to know about FPIES from a baby naturopath

FPIES isn't rare—it's just misdiagnosed. And that means thousands of babies are suffering while parents are being told "it's just gastro." If your baby has ever had severe projectile vomiting hours after eating, turned pale and lethargic, and you ended up in the ER only to be sent home with "probably just a stomach bug"—this episode is for you. In this episode, I'm diving deep into FPIES (Food Protein-Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome), a dramatically underdiagnosed food allergy that affects far more children than the official 1 in 100 statistic suggests. In This Episode, You'll Learn: What FPIES actually is (and the two types: acute and chronic) Why FPIES is so commonly misdiagnosed as gastro, reflux, or colic The four main reasons FPIES flies under the radar in conventional medicine How to recognize FPIES in your child (red flags and symptom patterns) Why standard allergy tests (skin prick and IgE blood tests) come back negative Common FPIES trigger foods and what to watch for The limitations of the conventional "wait and see" approachWhy avoidance alone doesn't address the root cause  How a gut-first, root-cause approach can support healing NOW (instead of waiting 2-3 years) This Episode Is For: - Parents wondering if their baby might have FPIES  - Families newly diagnosed with FPIES feeling overwhelmed and looking for guidance  - Parents who've been managing FPIES for a while and want more than "just wait until they grow out of it" Find more information on WWW.OHHEALTHYBABY.COM or find us on all social platforms as ohhealthybaby.
