    The Candlelight Chronicles Chapter Thirty

Chapter Thirty: “Through the Haze” Journal Entry – Day 30 The lantern casts a steady glow tonight, illuminating the pages as I write. Its light is calm, unlike the flickering uncertainty of candles. I’m keeping the candles set aside for now—better to save them for emergencies.

    Candlelight Chronicles Chapter Twenty-Seven

Chapter Twenty-Seven: “Into the Abyss” Journal Entry – Day 27 The pit is always on my mind. Every time I pass it, I feel its pull—a nagging sense of unease, curiosity, and something else I can’t name. It’s just a hole in the ground, but it feels deliberate, intentional. I’ve been telling myself it’s nothing—a landslide, an accident, a quirk of nature—but my gut disagrees. Whoever—or whatever—dug it wanted it to be found.

Chapter Twenty-Six: “Echoes in the Shadows” Journal Entry – Day 26 The day began uneventfully, though the tension from yesterday’s warning sign still lingered.

    Candlelight Chronicles Chapter Twenty-Five

Chapter Twenty-Five: “Shadows in the Redwoods” Journal Entry – Day 25 The pit is far enough from camp that I can’t see it from my tent, but it’s close enough for a quick check when needed. I’ve deliberately chosen the distance—just far enough to minimize risk but near enough to keep watch.

    Candlelight Chronicles Chapter Twenty-Four

Chapter Twenty-Four: Shadows at the Pit Journal Entry – Day 24 I woke to the sound of groaning. Not the usual night moans of the wind through the forest—this was heavier, raspier.
