Encounter with Sophia Goddess of Devine Wisdom podcast

Several years ago, I had an experience that profoundly changed the course of my spiritual journey. During an altered-state experience in the mountains, I encountered an entity that identified itself as Sophia—the ancient embodiment of Divine Wisdom. At the time, I knew very little about Sophia. Yet after the experience, I discovered references stretching back thousands of years through Greek philosophy, biblical traditions, Gnostic teachings, and sacred sites such as the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. In this episode, I share that remarkable encounter and explore how Sophia appears symbolically through the Tarot, particularly in cards such as The High Priestess, Temperance, The Star, Justice, and The World. I also discuss the relationship between wisdom, truth, awakening, and the challenge of seeing beyond illusion in our modern world. Whether you interpret this experience psychologically, spiritually, archetypically, or symbolically, my hope is that it encourages you to reflect on your own relationship with wisdom, intuition, and truth. At the end of the episode, I perform a Tarot reading exploring a central question: How can an ordinary person access the wisdom of Sophia in the modern world? Topics discussed: • The Sophia encounter • Divine Wisdom in ancient traditions • Sophia and the Tarot • Truth versus illusion • The Hermit's journey of awakening • Spiritual discernment in modern society • Personal truth and self-discovery • Tarot reading: Accessing Divine Wisdom Thank you for listening. Hero's Journey: The Return podcast

Hero's Journey: The Return What was all the struggle for? Why do we endure hardship, face uncertainty, and push through life's most difficult transitions? In the final installment of the Hero's Journey series, we explore Joseph Campbell's powerful concept of The Return—the stage where the hero comes home carrying a gift earned through experience. The journey changes the person. The return changes the world. Drawing from my own experiences in recovery, nursing, travel, and spiritual exploration, I reflect on the lessons, wisdom, and insights that emerge when we cross life's thresholds and discover who we are becoming. In this episode we explore: • Joseph Campbell's Return Phase • Bringing the gift back to the community • Why suffering can become a source of wisdom • Recovery as a transformational journey • Courage, determination, and perseverance • Guides, mentors, and unexpected teachers • The value hidden within difficult experiences • Sharing what we have learned with others Whether your journey began through addiction, illness, loss, spiritual awakening, education, career change, or personal crisis, every meaningful transformation offers an opportunity to bring something back. Wisdom. Compassion. Understanding. Service. The Hero's Journey is not complete when we overcome our challenges. It is complete when we return and offer what we have learned to others. All that suffering. All that growth. All that pain. Was not in vain. Threshold → Map → Integration Real Moments. Real Insight. Hero's Journey: Crossing the Threshold podcast

🎙️ Hero's Journey: Crossing the Threshold What happens after the call to change? In the second installment of the Hero's Journey series, we explore one of the most important stages of transformation: Crossing the Threshold. The old world has been left behind, but the new world is not yet understood. This stage is often marked by uncertainty, fear, confusion, and doubt. Yet it is also the point where mentors, guides, structure, and opportunities for growth begin to appear. Drawing from my own recovery journey, I share stories of the early days of transformation, including the role of mentors, the importance of structure, and the lessons learned from those who had already walked the path before me. In this episode we explore: • Crossing the Threshold • Why change requires action, not just intention • The role of mentors and guides • Structure, boundaries, and accountability • Recovery as a model of transformation • Symbolic systems as tools for orientation • Courage in the face of uncertainty • Trusting the process when the destination is unclear Joseph Campbell taught that every hero encounters guides and helpers along the way. Whether through recovery programs, spiritual communities, teachers, books, or life experience, support often appears when we commit ourselves to change. The map does not remove the challenge. The map provides orientation. The old world is left behind. The new world is not yet understood. Threshold → Map → Integration Real Moments. Real Insight. Awakening: The Hero's Journey podcast

What is a spiritual awakening? Is it a single event, a mystical experience, or something much deeper? In this episode of the Soul Awakens Series, I explore awakening as a process of transformation rather than a moment of enlightenment. Drawing from my own journey through addiction recovery, Carl Jung's concept of individuation, and Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey, we examine how profound change often begins when the old way of living no longer works. Together we explore: • The signs of spiritual awakening • Why suffering often precedes transformation • The Call to Adventure and Crossing the Threshold • Synchronicity and meaningful coincidence • Recovery as a pathway to awakening • Life events that can trigger transformation • Family patterns and inherited beliefs • The search for authenticity, meaning, and purpose • Awakening as a lifelong process of growth Whether your threshold came through addiction, illness, grief, trauma, relationship challenges, career changes, or simply a growing sense that your life no longer fits, this episode offers a framework for understanding what may be unfolding beneath the surface. Awakening is not about becoming someone else. It is about becoming more fully yourself. Threshold → Map → Integration Real Moments. Real Insight. Symbolic Containers | How Meaning Emerges from Symbolic Systems podcast

Symbolic Containers | How Meaning Emerges from Symbolic Systems Why do symbolic systems work? Why do Tarot, mythology, sacred geometry, archetypes, and ancient wisdom traditions continue to resonate across cultures and throughout history? In this episode of the Soul Awakens Series, I explore the concept of the Symbolic Container—a structured space where meaning can emerge through symbols, attention, reflection, and conscious participation. Using my own Tarot practice as an example, I discuss: * symbolic fields and symbolic containers * sacred space and focused attention * Celtic knots and fractal patterns * archetypes and synchronicity * cause and effect within interconnected systems * the role of the observer in meaning-making * how symbols help illuminate what may otherwise remain hidden This episode is not about fortune telling. It is an exploration of how symbolic systems can create a framework where deeper patterns become visible and where insight, reflection, and understanding can emerge. I also discuss why my approach differs from many modern Tarot presentations. Rather than placing the reader at the center, I explore the idea that the symbolic field itself becomes the center of attention, with the reader serving as guide, interpreter, and witness to the process. At the heart of this discussion is a simple question: How does meaning emerge? Through the lens of Tarot, Jungian thought, symbolic systems, and personal experience, we explore one possible answer. How Tarot Works podcast

How Tarot Works: Cause and Effect, Synchronicity, and Universal Archetypes One of the most common questions I am asked is simple: How does Tarot actually work? In this episode of the Soul Awakens Series, I explore several possible ways of understanding Tarot through the lenses of psychology, symbolic systems, cause and effect, synchronicity, and universal archetypes. Rather than viewing Tarot as fortune telling, I discuss how symbolic systems may function as mirrors that help bring unconscious material into conscious awareness. Topics explored include: • Cause and effect and the role of human decision-making • Carl Jung's concept of synchronicity • Universal archetypes and the collective unconscious • Why similar symbols appear across cultures and throughout history • The Fool, the Magician, the Hero, the Wise Old Man, and other recurring archetypal patterns • How symbolic systems can help create meaning and orientation during periods of uncertainty • Tarot as a tool for reflection, awareness, and conscious participation in life This episode continues the larger themes of the Soul Awakens Series: Threshold → Map → Integration Not prediction. Not control. But illumination. A deeper exploration of how symbolic systems may help us understand ourselves, our choices, and the recurring patterns that shape human experience. Real Moments. The Fool's Journey and Individuation | Tarot, Jung, and the Path to Wholeness podcast

Is there a connection between the Fool's Journey in Tarot and Carl Jung's process of individuation? In this episode of the Soul Awakens Series, I explore one of the most fascinating parallels between symbolic systems and psychology. Beginning with the Fool and moving through the Major Arcana, we examine how Tarot can be understood as a symbolic map of human development, transformation, and the search for wholeness. Drawing upon Jungian psychology, archetypes, recovery, and symbolic systems, this episode explores how the Major Arcana mirrors the stages of psychological growth: • The Fool and the beginning of the journey • The development of ego and identity • Encounters with shadow, uncertainty, and transformation • The Tower and the collapse of false certainty • The Star, Moon, and Sun as stages of renewal and integration • The World as a symbol of relative wholeness We also explore why symbolic systems have appeared throughout human history and how they can help us navigate periods of uncertainty, transition, and personal transformation. This is not a discussion of fortune telling. It is an exploration of symbolic awareness, psychological growth, and conscious participation in life's recurring cycles.
