    DAY 304: Daughters of Zelophehad

DAY 304: Daughters of Zelophehad Bible Plan Reading: Numbers 27:1-11; Galatians 3:28 // 5-Year Braided Chronological Bible Reading Plan Devotional Available on Amazon PrayerScripts 5-Year Bible Reading Plan // ________________________________________ Speaking up can feel risky when the system was not built with your situation in mind. The daughters of Zelophehad come forward because their father died without sons, and His name could disappear from the inheritance. The daughters of Zelophehad—Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah—come before Moses, Eleazar, the leaders, and the congregation at the entrance of the tent of meeting. Their father died in the wilderness, but he was not part of Korah’s rebellion. Galatians 3 says that in Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for all are one in Christ Jesus. Numbers 27 does not erase every social distinction in ancient Israel, but it does show God honoring women who seek justice in the covenant community. God is simply and attentive to those easily overlooked. He listens to the daughters’ case and publicly says they are right. In Christ, inheritance is opened fully to all who believe. Jesus dies and rises so sons and daughters, Jews and Gentiles, slave and free, receive belonging by grace. Think of one situation where you need to speak with courage and humility. Write the main point in one sentence before speaking, praying for justice without selfishness. ________________________________________ REFLECT & RESPOND Key Line: God hears simply appeals from people others might overlook. Reflection Question: Where do you need courage to speak clearly for what is right? Practice: Write one faithful concern in a clear sentence and pray before bringing it up. ________________________________________ PRAYER God, thank You for hearing people who are easily overlooked. Give me courage to speak truthfully and humility to seek justice Your way. Help me listen when others raise concerns.

    DAY 303: New Census Completed

DAY 303: New Census Completed Bible Plan Reading: Numbers 26:35-65; Psalm 90:13-17 // 5-Year Braided Chronological Bible Reading Plan Devotional Available on Amazon PrayerScripts 5-Year Bible Reading Plan // ________________________________________ Numbers can tell a story if you know what to notice. This census is not only about population. The census continues with Ephraim, Benjamin, Dan, Asher, Naphtali, and the Levites. Each tribe is counted by clans, and the total number of Israel’s fighting men is given as 601,730. Psalm 90 asks God to return, have pity on His servants, satisfy them with steadfast love, and establish the work of their hands. That prayer fits this moment. God keeps both warnings and promises. The old generation fell as He said, but Caleb and Joshua remain, and the new generation is counted for inheritance. Caleb and Joshua remain as witnesses of faith, but Jesus is the true faithful One who brings His people into a better inheritance. He passes through death and rises into indestructible life. Pray Psalm 90:17 over one task in front of you. Ask God to establish work that honors Him. ________________________________________ REFLECT & RESPOND Key Line: Brief days become meaningful when God establishes the work done in faith. Reflection Question: What work or responsibility do you need to ask God to establish instead of doing it carelessly? Practice: Pray Psalm 90:17 over one specific task, then complete it faithfully. ________________________________________ PRAYER God, teach me to number my days and use them wisely. Thank You for mercy after loss and for promises that still stand. Establish the work of my hands today.

DAY 302: New Census: Reuben Through Manasseh

DAY 302: New Census: Reuben Through Manasseh Bible Plan Reading: Numbers 26:1-34; Hebrews 4:6 // 5-Year Braided Chronological Bible Reading Plan Devotional Available on Amazon PrayerScripts 5-Year Bible Reading Plan // ________________________________________ A new count can feel like a fresh start, but it can also remind you of who is missing. Numbers 26 begins after years of wilderness judgment. After the plague, the Lord tells Moses and Eleazar to count Israel’s men twenty years old and upward who are able to go to war. The census begins with Reuben and moves through Simeon, Gad, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph’s sons, and Manasseh. Hebrews 4 says some who first received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience. Numbers 26 shows the result of that failure. God is faithful and simply. He remembers rebellion, but He also preserves families and continues the promise. The new census points toward God preserving a people through whom Christ will come. Israel’s failure did not cancel the promise that would lead to Jesus. Think about one pattern from the past that you do not want to repeat. Name it clearly before God. ________________________________________ REFLECT & RESPOND Key Line: God’s promise can outlive a generation’s unbelief and call the next generation to faith. Reflection Question: What pattern from the past is God calling you not to repeat? Practice: Name one inherited or repeated pattern and take one faithful opposite action today. ________________________________________ PRAYER God, thank You that Your faithfulness continues even after human failure. Help me learn from warnings without being trapped by them. Raise faithfulness in me where unbelief has been normal.

DAY 301: Baal Peor and Phinehas

DAY 301: Baal Peor and Phinehas Bible Plan Reading: Numbers 25:1-18; 1 Corinthians 10:8 // 5-Year Braided Chronological Bible Reading Plan Devotional Available on Amazon PrayerScripts 5-Year Bible Reading Plan // ________________________________________ Spiritual collapse does not always begin with open hatred of God. Sometimes it begins with attraction, compromise, and a meal that pulls worship in another direction. While Israel stays at Shittim, the men begin sexual relationships with Moabite women, who invite them to sacrifices for their gods. Israel eats, bows down to those gods, and joins itself to Baal of Peor. First Corinthians 10 warns believers not to indulge in sexual immorality as some of Israel did, when thousands fell in one day. Paul reads Baal Peor as a warning. God is jealous for His people’s worship and holy against compromise. He had defended Israel from Balaam’s curses, yet He will not ignore Israel’s own unfaithfulness. Phinehas’ zeal turns away wrath temporarily, but Jesus brings the final answer to sin and judgment. At the cross, He bears wrath for unfaithful people and purifies a people for Himself. Identify one compromise that is pulling your desires and worship away from God. Take decisive action: confess, block, delete, leave, ask for accountability, or stop meeting sin halfway. ________________________________________ REFLECT & RESPOND Key Line: The compromise that captures your desire may also be after your worship. Reflection Question: What desire or relationship is pulling your loyalty away from God? Practice: Take one decisive step today to cut off a compromise that is leading you toward sin. ________________________________________ PRAYER God, I confess that compromise can look attractive before it looks deadly. Give me holy seriousness about my desires and worship. Thank You for Jesus, who bore wrath and rescues unfaithful people.

DAY 300: Star and Scepter Oracle

DAY 300: Star and Scepter Oracle Bible Plan Reading: Numbers 24:15-25; Matthew 2:1-2 // 5-Year Braided Chronological Bible Reading Plan Devotional Available on Amazon PrayerScripts 5-Year Bible Reading Plan // ________________________________________ Some promises appear on the horizon long before anyone knows how they will arrive. Balaam looks ahead and speaks of a star coming out of Jacob and a scepter rising from Israel. Balaam speaks another oracle, describing himself again as one whose eyes are opened, who hears God’s words and knows the knowledge of the Most High. He says he sees someone, but not now; he beholds him, but not near. Matthew 2 tells of wise men from the east who come to Jerusalem asking where the King of the Jews has been born, because they saw His star. Balaam’s oracle about a star from Jacob echoes in the background. God sees the distant future with perfect clarity. Balaam says the promised ruler is not near, yet God speaks of Him with certainty. Jesus is the Star from Jacob and the King with the scepter. He comes humbly, not as people expected, yet He rules through the victory of His cross and resurrection. Name one promise of God that feels distant. Pray, “Not near to my eyes, but certain in Your hands.” Let the certainty of Christ’s first coming strengthen trust in what is still ahead. ________________________________________ REFLECT & RESPOND Key Line: Your present fear is not the whole horizon when God has promised a King. Reflection Question: What distant promise of God do you need to trust because Jesus has already come as King? Practice: Write “certain in God’s hands” beside one hope that feels far away. ________________________________________ PRAYER God, thank You for speaking promises long before people can see them. Help me trust Your future when hope feels distant. Thank You for Jesus, the Star from Jacob and true King.

    DAY 299: Balaam's Third Oracle

DAY 299: Balaam's Third Oracle Bible Plan Reading: Numbers 24:1-14; Galatians 3:13-14 // 5-Year Braided Chronological Bible Reading Plan Devotional Available on Amazon PrayerScripts 5-Year Bible Reading Plan // ________________________________________ Sometimes God’s blessing becomes clearest when someone else tries hardest to curse it. Balaam sees that the Lord is determined to bless Israel, so he stops chasing omens and looks toward the camp. Balaam realizes that it pleases the Lord to bless Israel, so He does not seek omens as before. He looks out over Israel arranged by tribes, and the Spirit of God comes upon him. Galatians 3 says Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, so that the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus. Balaam echoes Abraham’s blessing and curse promise. God delights to bless according to His covenant purpose. Balaam’s oracle is not sentimental; it is Spirit-given and rooted in promise. Jesus fulfills the blessing of Abraham by becoming a curse on the cross. He is lifted up in shame so blessing can flow to guilty people from every nation. Thank God for one blessing you did not earn. Then ask Him to make that blessing produce humility and generosity instead of pride. ________________________________________ REFLECT & RESPOND Key Line: In Christ, blessing is not proof of your superiority; it is evidence of grace. Reflection Question: What blessing in your life do you need to receive with humility instead of entitlement? Practice: Write one undeserved blessing and use it today to encourage or serve someone else. ________________________________________ PRAYER God, thank You that blessing comes by grace, not my impressiveness. Thank You that Jesus became a curse so Abraham’s blessing could reach people like me. Keep me humble, secure, and generous as someone blessed in Christ.

    DAY 298: Balaam's Second Oracle

DAY 298: Balaam's Second Oracle Bible Plan Reading: Numbers 23:13-30; Romans 11:29 // 5-Year Braided Chronological Bible Reading Plan Devotional Available on Amazon PrayerScripts 5-Year Bible Reading Plan // ________________________________________ Some people think changing the angle will change the truth. Balak takes Balaam to another place, hoping a different view of Israel might produce a different result. Balak takes Balaam to the field of Zophim on top of Pisgah, where he can see only part of Israel. Again, Balak builds seven altars and offers seven bulls and seven rams. Romans 11 says the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable. Balaam’s oracle echoes that confidence. God is truthful, faithful, and unchanging. He does not lie, panic, revise His promise, or get talked out of His blessing. Jesus is the fullest proof that God keeps His promises. In Christ, every promise of God finds its yes. Identify one area where you keep trying to get God’s word to mean something else. Stop changing the angle. ________________________________________ REFLECT & RESPOND Key Line: God’s word does not become flexible because your desire changes the angle. Reflection Question: Where are you hoping a new angle will make disobedience look acceptable? Practice: Obey one clear truth from God’s word that you have been trying to reinterpret. ________________________________________ PRAYER God, You are not like me. You do not lie, panic, or change Your mind. Help me stop trying to bend Your word around my desires.

    DAY 297: Balaam's First Oracle

DAY 297: Balaam's First Oracle Bible Plan Reading: Numbers 23:1-12; Romans 8:31 // 5-Year Braided Chronological Bible Reading Plan Devotional Available on Amazon PrayerScripts 5-Year Bible Reading Plan // ________________________________________ People may speak against you, misunderstand you, or even want harm for you, but they do not get the final word over what God has blessed. Balak brings Balaam to curse Israel, setting up altars and sacrifices. Balaam tells Balak to build seven altars and prepare seven bulls and seven rams. Balak does so, and Balaam goes aside to meet with the Lord. Romans 8 asks, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” Balaam’s first oracle gives an Old Testament picture of that confidence. Balak is against Israel. God is sovereign over the words of those who oppose His people. He can turn intended curses into blessing. At the cross, Jesus receives mockery, accusation, and curse language from people, yet God’s saving purpose is being fulfilled. Christ becomes a curse for us so blessing can come to undeserving sinners. Write one negative label or fear of what others think. Then write Romans 8:31 beneath it. ________________________________________ REFLECT & RESPOND Key Line: No hostile voice is stronger than the blessing God speaks over His people. Reflection Question: What human voice or label have you allowed to carry more weight than God’s word? Practice: Write Romans 8:31 under one accusation or fear and read it aloud. ________________________________________ PRAYER God, I let other voices feel final too often. Teach me to receive Your word over me as stronger than accusation, rejection, or fear. Thank You that Jesus bore the curse so I could receive blessing.
