    Awakened to Deliver — The Names of God Week 43 — God Who Confronts Sin Day 3 – The Love Behind God’s Rebuke ⸻ Episode Highlights • Revelation 3:14–22 reveals Jesus confronting the church in Laodicea over its lukewarmness, spiritual complacency, and failure to recognize its need for Him. • The Laodiceans believed they were wealthy and needed nothing, but Jesus exposed their true spiritual condition. • In Revelation 3:19, Jesus declares, “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.” His correction is rooted in love. • Not every hardship is God's discipline. Sickness, financial difficulties, and suffering should not automatically be interpreted as punishment for sin. • Hebrews 12 teaches that God's discipline of His children is for their good, helping them grow in holiness rather than indicating rejection. • Biblical correction should lead to repentance, not excuses or hopelessness.     God Who Confronts Sin — When God Names Our Sin

    Awakened to Deliver — The Names of God Week 43 — God Who Confronts Sin Day 2 – When God Names Our Sin ⸻ Episode Highlights • 2 Samuel 12 reveals how God sent the prophet Nathan to confront King David after his sin involving Bathsheba and the death of Uriah. • Nathan's words, “You are the man!” exposed David's hypocrisy. He recognized injustice in another person's actions while overlooking his own wrongdoing. • Jesus warns against this same attitude in Matthew 7. Before correcting others, we must honestly examine our own hearts. • Changing how we describe sin does not change what God has declared. Scripture, not personal opinions or religious traditions, determines what is sinful. • Not everyone who confronts us speaks with God's authority. Correction must be examined against Scripture, but we should not reject biblical truth simply because it makes us uncomfortable. • Spiritual maturity, ministry experience, and biblical knowledge do not place anyone above correction or accountability. • David's attempts to conceal his sin led to further wrongdoing. Rather than defending disobedience, believers are called to acknowledge sin, repent, and trust in Jesus Christ. ⸻ Scriptures to Reflect On • 2 Samuel 11:26–27 — David's actions displeased the Lord, even though he had attempted to conceal them. • 2 Samuel 12:1–7 — Nathan confronts David through a parable and declares, “You are the man!” • 2 Samuel 12:7–13 — God identifies David's wrongdoing, and David acknowledges his sin. • Matthew 7:3–5 — Jesus teaches us to examine our own sin before attempting to correct others. • Psalm 51:1–4 — David acknowledges his sin and appeals to God's mercy. • 1 John 1:9 — God is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse those who confess their sins. ⸻ Takeaway Thought It's often easier to recognize sin in someone else's life than to acknowledge it in our own. David could clearly identify injustice, but he needed God's Word to confront the wrongdoing he had been hiding. When Scripture exposes our sin, we have a choice. We can defend ourselves, minimize our actions, and make excuses, or we can humbly acknowledge what God has revealed. The Gospel gives us hope because Jesus Christ died for sinners and rose again. Our confidence rests in His saving work, not in our ability to appear righteous before others. Don't just recognize sin in others.     Awakened to Deliver — The Names of God Week 43 — God Who Confronts Sin Day 1 – God Brings Sin Into the Light ⸻ Episode Highlights • Genesis 3 reveals how Adam and Eve responded to disobedience by covering themselves, hiding from God, and making excuses. • When God asked Adam, “Where are you?” He was not seeking information. His questions brought Adam face-to-face with his disobedience. • Adam blamed Eve, and Eve pointed to the serpent. Although others may influence our decisions, we remain responsible for our own sin. • Nothing is hidden from God's sight. He sees our actions, attitudes, motives, and the things we attempt to conceal. • Genesis 3:15 introduces the promise of redemption that Christians understand as ultimately fulfilled in Jesus Christ. • Not every uncomfortable feeling is conviction from the Holy Spirit. Scripture, not personal preferences or religious traditions, determines what is sinful. • God's grace does not excuse continued disobedience. We do not need to pretend we are righteous or hide behind religious activity. We can come honestly before the Savior who died for sinners and rose again. Hiding sin does not remove it. Your word is truth.” • Jesus is the eternal Word made flesh (John 1:1, 14) and the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6).     God Who Purifies — Cleansed by the Blood of Jesus

    Awakened to Deliver — The Names of God Week 42 — God Who Purifies Day 2 – Cleansed by the Blood of Jesus ⸻ Episode Highlights • 1 John 1:5–9 reveals that God is light, and in Him there is no darkness. Genuine fellowship with God requires walking in His truth. • Walking in the light does not mean living without sin. It means being honest before God, confessing sin rather than hiding or excusing it. • Our cleansing comes through the blood of Jesus Christ, not through religious effort, personal discipline, or attempts to earn God’s acceptance. • Jesus offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for sinners.
