EP89 - 290 Miles, 95 Peaks & Four Days of Hell! Rebecca Hormann

This week the lads welcome ultra runner Rebecca Hormann to RUNcensored. A former footballer who started running more seriously during COVID, Rebecca has quickly established herself as an outstanding ultra distance performer, although she'll probably be the last person to admit it. This year she's won Portugal's 200-mile Terra de Gigantes outright, setting a new female course record, and claimed another course record at the mountainous TOR100 by Kailas FUGA in Italy. But the main focus is her incredible continuous round of the Ethels275 in the Peak District. Rebecca linked all 95 hills, tors and summits in a route covering 290 miles, finishing in 4 days, 11 hours and 44 minutes. It was a brutal undertaking, with back-to-back storms Austen and Boleo bringing relentless rain, testing underfoot conditions and some serious challenges around eating and keeping moving. Rebecca talks us through the physical and mental demands, the moments when things got difficult and the friends and support crew who helped her get it done. An honest insight into one hell of an endurance challenge, and the people who make these adventures possible. EP87 - Kendal Mountain Festival: 20+ Years Behind the Scenes with Steve Scott

Gary has gone AWOL this week, despite his beloved Manchester United managing to avoid defeat against Leeds United. So, Ben is flying solo, joined by fellow Leeds fan Steve Scott, Event Director of the world-famous Kendal Mountain Festival. Steve has been at the helm for more than 20 years, so who better to talk about how the festival began, how it's grown and where it's heading next? We get into the festival's biggest highlights, the challenges of organising an event of this scale and how its audience has changed over the years, including the huge growth of trail running. From the Trail 10K and ultra races to SportsShoes' O-GAMES, the new Mackyard Ultra and the ever-expanding programme of trail running talks, films and sessions, we explore how running has become such an important part of the Kendal experience. We also discuss the value of the SportsShoes partnership, the exciting line-up and activations planned for this year's festival, and what the future might look like, including the prospect of taking Kendal Mountain Festival to the south of the country for a summer event. And, of course, there's the big question: will Ben ever deliver on his promise to get Kilian Jornet to Kendal? If you're into trail running, mountain sports, outdoor films or the people behind the events we love, this one's well worth a listen. Subscribe to RUNcensored, leave us a comment and share the episode with your running mates. Let us know your favourite Kendal Mountain Festival memories, what you'd like to see in the future and whether you reckon Ben can pull off the Kilian deal. EP86 - Running Icks, Trail Communities & Working in the Industry

About bloody time! RUNcensored finally welcomes another female guest, as Ben and Gary sit down with Hannah Cawthra from the SportsShoes' Trail & Outdoors team. A passionate trail runner with years of experience working with The North Face, HOKA and now a retailer, Hannah brings a brilliant insight into the running industry. We chat footwear, race events, brand marketing, making a career out of running and how the industry is changing. She also shares how she discovered trail running through her partner Darren, why community matters and the difference between a traditional running club and a running community. Dreaming about working in the running industry? Hannah's story is packed with useful insights for anyone hoping to turn their passion into a career. And if you've ever wondered what it's like working with Ben, well, Hannah has first-hand experience. Unfortunately for her, she has to do it every day. We finish the episode with one of our favourite features as she blind ranks 10 Running Icks. Play along at home, see whether you agree with Hannah's choices and let us know which running icks we've missed in the comments. RUNcensored is proudly sponsored by SportsShoes.com. EP83 - WE ARE SO BACK... What Actually Happened at UTMB?

WE ARE SO BACK. After a couple of months apart, Gary House and Ben Mounsey are finally back together in Ben’s living room for a proper RUNcensored catch up. Although, to be fair, it’s still not quite as long as it’s been since Spurs last won a football match. There’s Gary’s many holidays, Ben’s trip to Sweden with the Kilian Jornet Foundation, trail restoration, and the ongoing mystery of whether Ben was stood up or set up by Gary and Kilian Jornet. Then it’s all about UTMB Mont-Blanc 2026. Fresh from Chamonix, the lads look back at paragliding into town, filming with Tom Evans and Hayden Hawks, photoshoots in the mountains, race coverage, RUNcensored-style filming, plenty of Aperol Spritz and all the chaos of the biggest week in trail running. They also get into the future of UTMB, following comments from the new mayor of Chamonix about reducing the scale of the event and protecting the valley’s infrastructure and fragile ecosystem. The lads are finally back together. Expect the usual laughs, running chat, questionable decisions and honest conversation.
