May 9 | How Many Times Should We Forgive? | Kids Devotional About Forgiveness | Carpooling with Jesus

Hey Carpool Crew! Today we’re talking about forgiveness… and honestly, this one can be hard. What do you do when someone keeps hurting your feelings, annoying you, or doing the same thing over and over again? Do you just keep forgiving forever? In this episode, Pastor Justin walks through Matthew 18 and Jesus’ surprising answer to Peter when he asked how many times we should forgive someone. Kids will learn that forgiveness is not about keeping score. It’s about letting go of the anger that weighs down our hearts. Using a relatable story about a kid named Beckett and a frustrating friend at school, this episode helps children understand that forgiveness doesn’t mean pretending something was okay. It means refusing to let anger control you. Big Idea:Forgiveness doesn’t keep score. It lets go. Bible Verse:Matthew 18:21 (CSB)“Lord, how many times must I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? As many as seven times?” Kids Will Learn:• Why Peter asked Jesus about forgiveness• What Jesus meant by “70 times 7”• Why forgiveness is about the heart, not numbers• How anger can weigh us down emotionally• Why forgiving someone doesn’t mean what they did was okay• How Jesus modeled forgiveness for us every day Family Discussion Question:What does forgiveness mean to you, and why is it sometimes hard? Parents:If this episode encouraged your family, share it with another parent this weekend. You never know who might need a simple conversation starter about forgiveness, grace, and letting go. And what does it teach us about trusting Him? In this episode, Pastor Justin walks through John 2:18 and explains why Jesus cared so deeply about worship, people, and what was right. The religious leaders demanded proof that Jesus had authority, but Jesus pointed to the greatest proof of all: His death and resurrection. May 6 | Who Jesus Really Is | Devotional for Kids Carpooling with Jesus Kids Devotional

Hey Carpool Crew! 🚗 Pastor Justin here, and today we’re tackling a big question: Is Jesus just a really good teacher… or is He actually God? Today’s Big Truth: Jesus isn’t just a good teacher. He is God. In John 8:58, Jesus says something that caught everyone’s attention: “Before Abraham was, I am.” That might sound simple at first, but it was a huge statement. “I am” was the name God used for Himself in the Old Testament. So when Jesus said that, He wasn’t just saying He existed before Abraham. He was saying He is God. We break that down in a way kids can understand, including a simple school example that makes it click. Here’s why this matters for you today: Jesus knows everything about you Jesus has power over everything Jesus’ love for you is real and personal This isn’t just about knowing facts. It changes how you pray, how you trust Him, and how you live every day. When you talk to Jesus, you’re talking to God. When you feel scared, God is with you. When you follow Jesus, you’re following the One who made everything. Parent Action Step: Follow us on Instagram @carpoolingwithjesus for short clips, encouragement, and easy conversation starters you can use with your kids all week long. Family Discussion Question: Why do you think it matters that Jesus isn’t just a teacher, but actually God? May 5 | Born Again Explained | Devotional for Kids Carpooling with Jesus Kids Devotional

Hey Carpool Crew! 🚗 Pastor Justin here, and today we’re talking about something that might sound a little confusing at first… what does it actually mean to be “born again”? In John 3:3, Jesus says something that surprised a lot of people: you have to be born again to see the kingdom of God. But He wasn’t talking about starting life over as a baby. He was talking about something way deeper. Today’s Big Truth: Jesus gives you a brand new life on the inside. We walk through the story of Nicodemus and break down what Jesus really meant. It’s not about changing how you look on the outside. It’s about God changing your heart, your thoughts, and the way you treat people. We also share a real-life story about a kid named Tyler who messed up, felt it in his heart, and chose to talk to Jesus about it. What happened next? That’s exactly what “being made new” looks like. Here’s what you can do today: Be honest when you mess up Talk to Jesus about what’s going on inside Trust Him to change your heart over time You don’t just need better behavior. You need a new heart. And that’s exactly what Jesus gives. Parent Action Step: If this episode helped your family, share it with another parent today. A quick text or post can help another kid hear truth on their way to school. Family Discussion Question: What do you think it means to have a new heart on the inside? May 4 | Use What God Gave You | Kids Devotional Carpooling with Jesus

Hey Carpool Crew! 🚗 Happy May the Fourth! And today’s big truth fits perfectly: Use what God gave you to help others. In Luke 12:48, Jesus says, “From everyone who has been given much, much will be required.” That means if you’ve been given gifts, talents, or strengths, they’re not just for you. Here’s the truth: You have influence. You have ability. You have something that matters. The question is, how are you using it? Just like in Star Wars, power can be used for good or for bad. Same power, different outcomes. Some of you are funny. Some are leaders. Some are kind. Some are great at sports or school. That’s your “power.” What this looks like today: Know your strengths Use them to help, not hurt Pay attention to your impact on others The goal isn’t just being gifted. It’s using your gifts in a way that makes people better. Family Discussion Question: What is something you are good at, and how can you use it to help someone today?
