Ep. 35 - Eat The Donut: How to calorie count

In this episode of ETD, Kevin put on some pounds recently, up nine pounds, and expected the weight to just fall off once he got back into routine. A month later, it hadn’t, so he got back to counting calories, and this week he and Shannon break down exactly why and how. We start with the basics: what a calorie actually is, why “a calorie is a calorie”, and why tracking isn’t the obsessive or disordered habit people assume it is — it’s just data, no different than budgeting your finances. From there, we get more tactical on how to figure out your calorie target, how to handle hunger without white-knuckling it, how to “budget” calories around a big event like a concert or vacation without derailing your whole week, and the most common tracking mistakes. If you’ve ever wondered whether counting calories is worth it or just another diet culture trap, this one clears it up.APPLY for 1:1 Fat Loss Coaching: https://link.kpdfit.org/widget/form/QGcPjndSAJ79pBaVZBjz Where else to find me: Insta: @ kpd.fitTikTok: @ kpdfitYouTube: KPDFitEmail: KPD@kpd.fit *FREE CALORIE CALCULATOR: https://kpdfit.org/macro-calc-2096 *FIRST 5 28 Day Fat Loss Challenge ($1 a day): https://kpdfit.org/first5 *37 HIGH PROTEIN MEALS MADE IN 5-10 MINUTES: https://link.kpdfit.org/widget/form/y7DP9VE9hmwtkVvsh8n8 This is a public episode. Ep. 34 - Eat The Donut: How to Handle Food When You and Your Partner Aren't on the Same Page

This week Shannon “confesses to cheating” with Ben, Jerry’s, and Mike from Jersey. Joking aside, we kick off a real conversation about one of the most common relationship friction points: what happens when one partner is trying to lose weight, and the other still wants Oreos in the pantry. Shannon asks the question a lot of you have probably lived through: what do you do when you’ve asked your partner to stop bringing home foods that derail you, and they keep doing it anyway? We talk through why “planning” and “environment” are the two biggest levers for making healthy choices easier, how to have that conversation without it turning into an attack, and the exact phrases partners say that feel small but actually do real damage — “well, I’m not on a diet,” “you’ve been so good lately, why not have some,” “one bite won’t hurt.” If you’ve ever been on either side of that conversation, this one’s for you.APPLY for 1:1 Fat Loss Coaching: https://link.kpdfit.org/widget/form/QGcPjndSAJ79pBaVZBjz Where else to find me: Insta: kpd.fitTikTok: kpdfitYouTube: KPDFitEmail: KPD@kpd.fit *FREE CALORIE CALCULATOR: https://kpdfit.org/macro-calc-2096 *THE FIRST-5 28 Day Fat Loss Challenge ($1 a day): https://kpdfit.org/first5 *37 HIGH PROTEIN MEALS MADE IN 5-10 MINUTES: https://link.kpdfit.org/widget/form/y7DP9VE9hmwtkVvsh8n8 This is a public episode. Ep. 33 - Eat The Donut: We are back! My new employee, life update, what is the Goldilocks method?

This week I brought a special guest on the mic for the first time - my first employee… We get into why they’re stepping further into KPD Fit, what it’s actually looked like to build this business from a part-time job to where we are now, and why leaving stability behind ended up paying off every time we bet on ourselves. We also talk about the move from Massachusetts to San Diego, training for HYROX, and why we’re bringing more of the goofy, unfiltered version of us back to social media instead of the overly “educational” version I thought I had to be. Then we dig into the real meat of it: the Goldilocks Method and how a concept from my own therapy sessions became the framework behind everything I coach. I get into my own yo-yo dieting history, restricting hard every summer, the whole all-or-nothing cycle — and the moment a conversation about pizza and permission changed how I thought about food for good. If you’ve ever felt trapped in the good-food/bad-food, restrict-then-binge cycle, this one’s for you.APPLY for 1:1 Fat Loss Coaching: https://link.kpdfit.org/widget/form/QGcPjndSAJ79pBaVZBjz Where else to find me:Insta: kpd.fitTikTok: kpdfitYouTube: KPDFitEmail: KPD@kpd.fit *FREE CALORIE CALCULATOR: https://kpdfit.org/macro-calc-2096 *FIRST 5 28 Day Fat Loss Challenge ($1 a day): https://kpdfit.org/first5 *37 HIGH PROTEIN MEALS MADE IN 5-10 MINUTES: https://link.kpdfit.org/widget/form/y7DP9VE9hmwtkVvsh8n8 This is a public episode. Ep. 32: The Real Reason You Struggle to Stay Consistent

In this episode of Eat the Donut, I pull back the curtain on one of the biggest barriers to progress in fat loss and fitness — consistency. If you’ve ever felt like you know exactly what to do but can’t seem to follow through, this one’s for you. I dive into the real reason why even “perfect plans” fail, how short-term gratification sabotages long-term results, and what it truly takes to build the kind of discipline that lasts. Expect a mix of tough love, real talk, and practical mindset shifts that will challenge the way you think about commitment, effort, and following through when it’s inconvenient. You’ll walk away with a clear understanding of how to break the all-or-nothing pattern, build self-trust through small wins, and finally create consistency that sticks. If you’re ready to stop restarting every Monday and start showing up like the person you say you want to be — this episode will hit home.Interested in 1:1 Fat Loss Coaching? Ep. 28: Best diets, Intermittent fasting, meal frequency, GLP-1s, motivation...

In this week’s episode, I’m answering your questions on weight loss, nutrition, and motivation. We cover topics like GLP-1 medications, whether you should eat six small meals or three big ones, and the truth about intermittent fasting for weight loss. I’ll break down how to choose the eating pattern that actually works for you, why IF is just a tool (not a magic bullet), and the real criteria for the “best” diet to lose fat. We also dig into the mindset side of the journey—why chasing the fastest results often backfires, how to think in terms of sustainability, and the truth about motivation. Whether you’re trying to lose fat, get stronger, or just stay consistent, these answers will help you cut through the noise and focus on what actually works in the real world.Interested in 1:1 Fat Loss Coaching?
