Invisible Woman Syndrome: When the Mirror Shapes Your Worth

How does the "invisible woman syndrome" show up in midlife? Why do so many high-performing women suddenly feel unseen in the workplace? And what happens when women stop shrinking themselves and begin taking up space again? In this episode, I explore the experience many women face in midlife when they begin to feel invisible—especially in professional environments. I talk about the research behind what's often called "invisible woman syndrome," including why so many high-performing women suddenly feel overlooked, ignored, or dismissed as they age. Through stories from clients, I unpack the complicated relationship women often have with visibility, likability, aging, and performance. We discuss how many women learn to shrink themselves to avoid criticism, while also feeling the emotional and financial consequences of staying quiet. I also explore the pressure women face around maintaining appearance, staying relevant in the workplace, and feeling like they have an "expiration date." Throughout the episode, I share examples of women who have started reclaiming their visibility by speaking up, taking up space, and stepping into leadership without apologizing for who they are. Ultimately, this conversation is about helping women recognize their value, trust their expertise, and stop disappearing in rooms they deserve to be in. When Your Body Says No: Listening to the Wisdom of Fatigue, Anxiety and Burnout

Why is your fatigue and anxiety a signal that you need to listen to and not a problem to fix? How often do you push past your limits instead of asking what your body needs? What might change if you treated rest as essential, not something to earn? In this episode I'm inviting you to rethink fatigue and anxiety—not as problems to fix, but as signals your body is using to protect you. I explain that your body is often the first part of you to recognize misalignment, long before your mind or emotions catch up. When something in your life isn't working, your body speaks through symptoms like chronic fatigue, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, burnout, and physical issues. These aren't random—they're messages. I walk through the five most common ways your body says "no": deep, unrelenting fatigue; constant alertness or anxiety; irritability and emotional overload; burnout and loss of joy; and physical symptoms like aches, digestive issues, or unexplained changes in your body. Burnout, in particular, isn't laziness—it's depletion. A big theme I emphasize is how often we override these signals because we've been conditioned to push through. But real strength isn't ignoring pain—it's listening to it and responding. To reconnect with your body, I encourage both emotional and practical shifts: rest without needing to earn it, stop carrying what isn't yours, notice where you're out of alignment and make changes, adjust unrealistic expectations, spend time in gentle movement and nature, and be honest with yourself about what's actually going on. Ultimately, when you begin listening and responding to your body, you rebuild trust with yourself. You create space for real rest and a more sustainable way of living.
