Witch please… A Halloween special on the Salem Witch Trials

In 1692, something dark settled over Salem. Fear spread from house to house as whispers of witchcraft turned neighbors against neighbors, friends against friends, and eventually families against each other. Accusations grew, the courtroom doors opened, and before the hysteria finally burned itself out, innocent people were dead—leaving Salem with a story that still feels haunted more than 300 years later. https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/a-brief-history-of-the-salem-witch-trials- 175162489/ https://www.britannica.com/event/Salem-witch-trials https://congregationallibrary.org/salem-witch-trials-research-guide https://www.history.com/articles/salem-witch-trials Hosted on Acast. WTAF is going on in Olney? Everything we know so far about Raymond and Eugene Horsch

In June 2026, a routine traffic stop in Philadelphia opened the door to a disturbing investigation surrounding a home on West Chew Avenue in the city’s Olney neighborhood. The house belonged to Raymond “R.C.” Horsch, a pornographer and self-described sociopath who died in 2025, and his son, Eugene. What investigators uncovered inside the home was staggering: weapons, drugs, a home laboratory, and a million pieces of disturbing digital evidence connecting the property to multiple missing women, several of whom appear to be deceased in the images. The investigation is just getting started in what is now dubbed the Philly house of horrors and in this episode of Koltergeist, we are bringing you everything we know so far. In 2012, Cari Farver suddenly disappeared. At first, it seemed like a missing-person case. But then something strange happened: Cari began contacting the people in her life. Texts, emails, threats, and increasingly disturbing messages suggested that she was still out there—and that she had become obsessed with the people around her. Even in Death-A Funeral Home Mystery and the Mount Moriah Cemetery Thefts

This week on Koltergeist, we're exploring crimes committed against the dead—from the body of a young woman stolen from a funeral parlor and never found to desecrated graves to the shocking black market for human bones, organs, and tissue. Some victims were taken from cemeteries under the cover of darkness. Others were entrusted to funeral homes, medical schools, or donation programs, only to have their remains exploited for profit or treated with unimaginable disrespect. These aren't just stories about death. They're stories about broken trust, grieving families, and the unsettling reality that, for some, even death doesn't bring dignity.
