Psyber-Conversations

PsyberForge Media

This show is about movies, but it’s really about conversation. We dig into films we love, films we argue about, and films that land differently depending on who’s watching. We compare opinions, challenge each other, and disagree without turning it into a fight. Liking different things doesn’t make anyone wrong, it just makes the conversation better. If you enjoy thoughtful debate, strong opinions, and the idea that fandom should bring people together instead of pushing them apart, you’re in the right place.

Avengers Endgame Part 1: Time Heists, Trauma, and Plot Armor

The Avengers lost. Thanos won. Half the universe disappeared. Naturally, the only reasonable solution is time travel, a complicated heist, and absolutely no agreement on how any of it works. In Part 1 of our Avengers: Endgame discussion, the Psyber Conversations crew looks back at the massive anticipation surrounding the film, the shock of killing Thanos in the opening minutes, and the five-year jump that changed the MCU forever. We break down how each surviving Avenger handles grief and failure, including Tony Stark’s attempt at a happy ending, Steve Rogers’ support group era, Natasha’s refusal to move on, Smart Hulk’s offscreen transformation, Hawkeye’s dark turn, and Thor’s controversial descent into depression, drinking, and one too many punchlines. Then we jump into the Time Heist and revisit some of the MCU’s biggest moments from completely new perspectives. Was it meaningful storytelling or an Avengers greatest-hits tour? Did the movie’s time travel rules make sense? Was Natasha the right person to sacrifice on Vormir? And how much can be explained by two simple words: plot armor? We also look ahead to Avengers: Doomsday, discuss how Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom could connect to Tony Stark, and somehow end up questioning cell phone plans, Pym Particle inventory, magical beard braiding, and whether anyone in the MCU understands quantum physics. Part 2 continues next week with the final battle, the biggest character payoffs, and the ending of the Infinity Saga.
