Celeste Rivas Hernandez: The Case Against D4VD

In April 2024, 13-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez vanished from Lake Elsinore, California. Seventeen months later, her remains were found in the trunk of an impounded Tesla at a Hollywood tow yard—registered to rising R&B star David Burke, known as d4vd. I crossed over to Clues from HSP because I like Kaelyn’s style of storytelling, personality, and voice. But I truly cannot abide Morgan. She is just not that bright and her opinions feel performative. I have not listened to her other shows so maybe it’s just the Clues format or dynamics that don’t mesh with her. But, they just announced that Morgan will be leaving to focus on her other projects. I think this is the best move for the podcast and hosts. I’m glad I stuck around and I’m looking forward to the evolution of Clues!
Mediocre but still entertaining

I’ve been listening to this podcast since episode 4 and while I do enjoy it, it’s fairly mediocre. It’s a lot like other true crime podcasts but I do find that it goes deeper into cases than other podcasts. There is a lack of emotion in the line delivery but I know that Morgan is autistic (I believe she said that but I might be mistaken) and as an autistic person I also struggle with showing emotion. Other than the amount of information it’s fairly surface level. I enjoy it but I do think there are better more interesting podcasts out there. I do love how there’s a trigger warning before each case though. Not many podcasts do that as it’s usually implied but actually hearing it is extremely helpful. So overall, good but nothing special.

I loved the show when it first started but now it’s nothing but missing people cases or unsolved cases. One of those types of stories every so often is fine but not all the time. I need an ending to the story.
