Ep.78 How to Apologize Like An Adult

How to Apologize Like an Adult Last week, we talked about how to make a mistake like an adult. This week, we're taking the next step: learning how to apologize. Most of us grew up believing an apology is supposed to make everything better. But healthy apologies aren't about making our guilt disappear or convincing someone to forgive us. They're about acknowledging reality. In this episode, we'll explore the difference between apologizing and repairing the damage, why explanations often get in the way of accountability, and why the other person's healing isn't ours to control. You'll learn how a genuine apology becomes an act of honesty rather than a negotiation—and why one of the greatest gifts you can give someone is simply letting them know, "I see what happened, and I understand that it affected you." If you've ever struggled to say "I'm sorry," wondered why some apologies feel empty, or wanted to rebuild trust after a mistake, this episode will give you a healthier, more mature way to think about accountability, relationships, and repair. Ep.77 How to Make a Mistake Like An Adult

How do adults actually handle mistakes? Most of us don't have a problem admitting that people make mistakes—we just have a much harder time admitting our own. Instead, we explain them, justify them, or quietly file them away so we don't have to look too closely. In this first episode of a two-part series, we're exploring what it really means to make a mistake like an adult. You'll learn a simple five-step framework for looking honestly at your choices without drowning in shame or defending yourself out of growth. We'll talk about the difference between accountability and self-condemnation, why understanding the story behind your behavior matters, and how your mistakes can become some of your greatest teachers. If you've ever found yourself saying, "But I had a good reason," or replaying a mistake long after it happened, this episode will help you replace blame and guilt with curiosity, honesty, and practical change. Because the goal isn't to become someone who never makes mistakes. It's to become someone who knows what to do after they make one. Next week, we'll build on this conversation by talking about one of the most important—and most misunderstood—adult skills of all: how to apologize in a way that actually repairs relationships. Ep.75 Why Bad Moods Spread (And How to Stop Catching Them!)

Have you ever noticed that someone else's bad mood can become your bad mood? There's actually a scientific reason for that. This week, we're talking about emotional contagion—the surprising way emotions spread from person to person, just like a cold. You'll learn why negativity can be so contagious, why empathy doesn't mean absorbing someone else's emotions, and how to stay calm, caring, and grounded even when the people around you are having a hard day. In this episode, you'll discover: What emotional contagion is and why it happensThe difference between empathy and emotional absorptionHow to support struggling people without getting pulled under yourselfA simple two-question exercise to help you recognize when you've "caught" someone else's moodHow your own peace, hope, and kindness can positively influence everyone around you If you've ever ended the day carrying emotions that didn't seem to belong to you, this episode will give you practical tools to protect your emotional health while still loving the people around you. Because while emotions are contagious…you get to choose what you spread. Ep.74 Milestones That Turn Into Momentum

Milestones That Turn Into Momentum Have you ever looked around and wondered why everyone else seems to be moving forward while your life feels stuck? Maybe you've graduated, started your career, or checked off all the "right" milestones—but you're still waiting for the house, the spouse, the financial stability, or the future you imagined would be here by now. In this episode, we're exploring why adulthood isn't meant to be measured only by milestones. Instead, we'll discover the power of building momentum by living according to your values, even when the road ahead feels uncertain. Using the metaphor of a road trip, we'll talk about why life eventually trades a GPS for a compass, how your values can guide you through seasons of uncertainty, and why becoming the kind of person you want to be matters even more than arriving at your next destination. If you've ever felt behind, discouraged, or unsure what comes next, this conversation is for you. Because your life isn't on hold until the next milestone—you can build a meaningful life one intentional step at a time. Ep.72 Your Money Story: The Hidden Beliefs Affecting Your Financial Life

Money is rarely just about money. In this episode, we explore the hidden beliefs, emotions, and assumptions that shape the way we save, spend, earn, and think about money. Through four simple but powerful questions, you'll uncover the financial stories you may have been carrying for years without realizing it. What emotion comes up first when you think about money? What messages did you absorb about money growing up? If you suddenly had ten million dollars, what problem would you hope it would solve? And what do you believe money says about a person's worth? Using the metaphor of tending a garden, this conversation invites you to approach your finances with curiosity instead of judgment. Rather than focusing on budgets, investment strategies, or financial systems, we'll look at the mindset beneath those decisions—the fears, hopes, family influences, and beliefs that often drive our behavior. Whether money feels stressful, exciting, overwhelming, or something you'd rather avoid thinking about altogether, this episode offers a thoughtful framework for understanding your relationship with it and developing a healthier perspective. Because financial growth isn't just about learning how money works. Sometimes it's about understanding the story you've been telling yourself about it all along.
