We planned our route through the mountains before hitting the muddy trails—and it didn’t take long before I completely wiped out. Along the way, we stopped at small villages, tried fresh Vietnamese sugarcane, talked about dating life in Vietnam, and enjoyed a huge lunch made with local ingredients. I also got to see how traditional indigo dyeing is done before crossing a massive bridge high above the river.
