    S2:E5 "Two Types of Availability"

Two types of Availability Podcast Script – "Two Types of Availability That Change Everything" John: Welcome back to The Leadership Coach Podcast, where we talk about real-life leadership,  personal growth, and the everyday habits that help you win in business and in life. Today, I want to talk about something simple, but powerful — availability.  And no, I’m not just talking about whether your calendar is open or your phone is on.  I’m talking about the two types of availability: 1. Being physically available – showing up in person, ready to do the work. 2. Being mentally available – showing up in mind, focus, and emotional presence. Let’s break these down, because most people are stronger in one than the other — and that gap can hold you back. Topic 1: Physical Availability – The Power of Showing Up Physical availability is the part we see. You’re at work on time. You’re at your kid’s game.  You’re sitting next to your spouse at the dinner table. But here’s the thing — just because you’re there physically doesn’t mean you’re truly there.  Still, the act of showing up matters. In business, if you’re not physically present, you miss opportunities.  As a spouse or friend, if you’re never there, relationships weaken. Physical availability says: “I value this enough to make space for it in my life.” The everyday challenge here? Life pulls us in a million directions. But the truth is — the people who win in leadership, business, and relationships are the ones who keep showing up even when it’s inconvenient. Topic 2: Mental Availability – The Missing Ingredient Now here’s where many of us struggle — we show up, but our minds are somewhere else. You’ve been there: sitting at your desk but scrolling your phone. Listening to your friend, but thinking about your to-do list. Mental availability means giving something or someone your full mental focus. It’s not just about being there — it’s about being present. For leaders, this is huge. A physically available boss can attend meetings, but a mentally available boss hears the concerns, spots the patterns, and makes smart decisions. For relationships? If you’re physically there but mentally absent, the other person feels it. And for yourself? If you’re never mentally available to reflect, recharge, or dream, burnout is coming. Topic 3: The Everyday Balance – Making Space for Both Here’s the hard truth — being physically available without mental presence makes you a body in the room, not a real contributor.  Being mentally available but never physically showing up makes you an idea that never becomes action. The magic happens when both align. The business owner who’s at the meeting and fully engaged in the discussion. The spouse who comes home early and actually listens instead of zoning out. The friend who drives across town and makes you feel heard. The individual who schedules self-care time and actually enjoys it without guilt. Being available physically and mentally says: "I’m here. I’m ready. And I care enough to give you my best self." Call to Action So here’s your challenge for this week: Pick one relationship, one responsibility, and one personal area of your life. Ask yourself: Am I showing up physically? Am I showing up mentally? If one is missing — fix it. Schedule it. Protect it. Because the truth is, the world doesn’t just need more people to show up — it needs more people to show up fully. John:: If today’s episode hit home for you, share it with a friend who might need the reminder. And if you’re ready to grow as a leader — at work and in life — keep tuning in. Until next time, show up in body and in mind… because that’s where real impact happens.

S2:E3: Fix The Root, Not The Symptoms

Podcast Episode: “Fix the Root, Not the Symptom” Opening (2 minutes) “Welcome back to The Leadership Coach Podcast! Today’s episode is all about something I see every day with clients, teams, and even in my own life: We spend too much time fixing symptoms and not enough time fixing the root problem. If you’ve ever said to yourself, ‘I feel stuck. I’ve tried everything. Why isn’t this changing?’ … this episode is for you. I’m going to break this down into three parts: 1. How to recognize the difference between symptoms and root causes. 2. How to ask the right questions to dig deeper. 3. And how to create lasting solutions once you uncover the real issue. So grab a notebook, because this conversation could change the way you lead, work, and even think about your own life.” Part 1: Symptoms vs. Root Cause (6–7 minutes) Story to hook: “Let me start with a simple example. Imagine you walk into your house and there’s water all over the kitchen floor. What’s your first move? Most of us grab a mop or a towel. We clean up the water. But if we never look for the source of the leak… guess what? Tomorrow, there’s water again. That’s exactly how most of us treat problems in business and in life. We clean up the mess, we react to the crisis, but we never go upstairs and patch the hole in the roof.” Symptoms look like: Low motivation Procrastination High turnover in a business Arguments in a relationship Low sales, bad habits, stress “These are NOT the problem. These are the puddles on your floor. They are indicators. Warning lights. The root cause is deeper. It could be: Fear Lack of clarity or purpose Unhealed trauma Ineffective systems A mindset you’ve never challenged If you only treat the symptom, the cycle will repeat.” Pause and speak directly to listener: “So as you’re listening, think: What have I been mopping up instead of fixing?” Part 2: Asking the Right Questions (7–8 minutes) “Alright—how do we find the root? This is where most people get stuck. You can’t discover a root cause with surface-level thinking. You have to ask deeper questions. Here are 3 simple but powerful tools I teach my clients:” Tool #1: The 5 Whys “This is my favorite exercise. Take any issue and ask ‘Why?’ five times. By the time you get to the fourth or fifth why, you’re no longer talking about the puddle—you’re looking at the pipe that burst.” Example: Symptom: ‘My team isn’t motivated.’ Why? ‘They don’t seem engaged.’ Why? ‘They feel like their work doesn’t matter.’ Why? ‘Because I haven’t been communicating vision.’ “The root isn’t laziness. The root is leadership clarity.” Tool #2: What’s Really True? “Sometimes the root hides behind a story we’ve told ourselves. ‘I’m bad with money.’ Is that really true? Or did no one ever teach you financial skills? ‘I’m just not confident.’ Is that true? Or did you stop putting yourself in situations that built your confidence? Challenge your assumptions. Truth lives underneath the story.” Tool #3: What Am I Avoiding? “Most of us know the root but we avoid it. We avoid the hard conversation. We avoid looking at the budget. We avoid admitting we need help. The thing you avoid is often the thing you need to face.” Mini coaching moment: “Take one problem you’re facing right now. Pause this podcast if you need to. Ask yourself: Why is this happening? What’s really true? And what am I avoiding? The answer that makes you uncomfortable? That’s where the root usually lives.” Part 3: Creating Lasting Solutions (6–7 minutes) “Once you uncover the root, the game changes. You stop putting out fires. You build systems that prevent fires. If the root cause is a leadership gap, you fix the structure. If the root cause is fear, you work on courage. If the root cause is lack of clarity, you create a clear plan.”

S2:E2: The Power of Alignment, Intentionality and Sustainability

New Pod 🎙️ PODCAST SCRIPT: "The Power of Alignment, Intentionality & Sustainability" [Intro Music Fades In] What’s up, family? Welcome back to another episode of The Leadership Coach Podcast — the space where personal development meets spiritual grounding, and ambition finds direction. I’m your host, John Roberson alongside my co-host Zana Omar, and today’s episode is going to be a game changer. We’re diving deep into three critical pillars that — when executed together — can completely transform your life: Alignment, Intentionality, and Sustainability. Let’s talk about what happens when you stop operating on autopilot and start living on purpose. 🎯 Segment One: Alignment — The Foundation Let’s start with alignment. Alignment is when your personal life, your business goals, and your spiritual walk are moving in the same direction. It’s when your decisions feel congruent with who you are and what you truly value. It’s when your why and your what are finally on speaking terms. But let’s be real — life happens. Things throw us off course. The grind, the pressure, the distractions — they can knock us out of alignment without us even noticing. And that’s why realignment is just as important. Every high performer — from CEOs to elite athletes — builds in time to realign. When you feel stuck, lost, or off track, don’t quit. Instead, pause and ask: Where am I misaligned? Is it your time management? Your relationships? Your priorities? Your faith? You can’t build a powerful life on a shaky foundation. Alignment is the GPS. And sometimes, you’ve gotta reroute. 🔥 Segment Two: Intentionality — The Fuel Once you’re aligned, it’s time to turn up the heat with intentionality. Intentionality is about doing things on purpose — not out of routine, fear, or convenience. It’s about waking up with clarity and refusing to waste your energy on anything that doesn’t move you closer to your calling. Let me put it this way: You don’t just wake up successful. You build success intentionally — with your habits, your mindset, your focus. When you show up in your business, are you showing up with purpose? When you spend time with your family, are you fully present? When you talk to God, are you just going through the motions or are you actually connecting? Living intentionally means living with standards, not just intentions. You don’t get what you want, you get what you commit to. 🧱 Segment Three: Sustainability — The Discipline Now here’s where most people fall off — sustainability. See, alignment gets you started. Intentionality keeps you focused. But discipline and accountability are what sustain you. Anyone can be motivated for a week. But can you stay consistent for 6 months? Can you keep going even when life gets hard? Can you sustain your growth when nobody’s clapping, when the results are slow, when you're tired? This is where the real work happens. Sustainability is about setting systems, boundaries, and habits that protect your progress. It’s about checking in with yourself — mentally, emotionally, spiritually — and holding yourself accountable when nobody else will. Discipline is freedom. And sustainability is success on repeat. 🎯 Final Thoughts & Call to Action So let me ask you: Are you in alignment right now? Are you being truly intentional with your time and energy? And most importantly — do you have a plan to sustain your growth? Because when you execute on all three — alignment, intentionality, and sustainability — you stop living by default and start living by design. 💥 Here’s your Call to Action: If you’re ready to take control of your life and start walking in purpose, I want you to DM me the word “REALIGNMENT” on Instagram @P510Coaching. Let’s set up a free clarity consultation to get you back on track. You weren’t built to live distracted, disorganized, and drained. You were built for impact. And it starts with taking that first step.

    S2:E1: Chaos To Control

From Chaos to Control EPISODE TITLE: From Chaos to Control: Mastering Time to Master Your Life INTRO (1-2 mins) Welcome back to The Leadership Coach Podcast — where we help you lead yourself so you can lead others. We're your hosts, John Roberson and Zana Omar, and today we’re diving into one of the most critical yet underrated topics that separates dreamers from doers — Time Management. We all get the same 24 hours. Yet some people are building empires, scaling careers, achieving fitness goals, and nurturing relationships — while others feel like they’re drowning in chaos. What's the difference? It’s not talent. It’s not luck. It’s how they manage their time. Let’s break this down in three parts: 1. The Power of 24 Hours 2. Pre-Planning and Execution 3. Real-World Examples and a Challenge for You Segment 1: The Power of 24 Hours (6-7 mins) Let’s start with a hard truth: Time is the only resource you can’t get back. There are 1,440 minutes in a day. According to a U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics study, the average American spends: 2.8 hours a day watching TV 2.5 hours on social media But less than 20 minutes planning their day or week That’s over 5 hours daily on entertainment… and less than half an hour investing in direction or discipline. Now contrast that with high performers: Oprah Winfrey starts every day with intentional time alone, reviewing her priorities. Elon Musk breaks his day into 5-minute blocks to maximize productivity. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson begins his day before sunrise, attacking it with pre-planned intensity. These aren’t superhumans — they’ve just realized that time isn’t something you spend, it’s something you invest. Ask yourself: How are you investing your 24? Segment 2: Pre-Planning and Execution (7-8 mins) You don’t rise to the level of your goals — you fall to the level of your systems. And pre-planning is a system. Pre-planning your day — even just the night before — increases productivity by up to 25%, according to research from Harvard Business Review. Here’s why: Your brain starts the day with clarity instead of confusion. You reduce decision fatigue. You set the tone for intentional action. A simple daily plan might look like this: 1. Top 3 Priorities 2. Time-blocking your calendar 3. Setting boundaries around distractions It’s not just about being busy — it’s about being productive. When you’re constantly reacting, you’re in survival mode — putting out fires, always behind, always stressed. But when you pre-plan, you move into beast mode — proactive, focused, and dominant in your lane. Think of it like building a house: You wouldn’t show up to a construction site with no blueprint. So why approach your day — your life — without one? Segment 3: Examples, Mindset Shift & Call to Action (6-7 mins) Let’s talk real-world for a moment. Steve Jobs famously wore the same outfit every day — not because he lacked style — but because he didn’t want to waste time on trivial decisions. Kobe Bryant was known to start training at 4AM, hours before his teammates, pre-planning every workout. These people understood that greatness is found not in what you do occasionally, but in what you do consistently. And that consistency starts with your calendar. So here’s my challenge to you: Tonight, before you go to bed: 1. Write down your 3 most important tasks for tomorrow. 2. Block time on your calendar for each. 3. Schedule a 5-minute review to adjust — not to abandon — your plan. Then repeat. Because the truth is, success doesn’t go to the smartest, or even the most talented. It goes to the most disciplined — the ones who make every minute count. CLOSING (1-2 mins) If today hit home for you, share this episode with someone who needs a reminder that they are not a victim of time — they are the manager of it.

S1:E6: A Guide to an Abundant Mindset

Segment One: What is a Scarcity Mindset? A scarcity mindset is the belief that resources are limited. It whispers, “There’s not enough,” and drives decisions rooted in fear and lack. This shows up in thoughts like: “If they win, I lose.” “I can’t share my ideas—they might steal them.” “There’s no room at the top.” In leadership, this mindset creates a toxic cycle of micromanagement, mistrust, and competition. It leads to hoarding—whether it’s information, opportunities, or credit. And over time, it stifles creativity, collaboration, and growth. A scarcity mindset can silently sabotage leadership, decision-making, and growth. When leaders operate from a place of scarcity, they tend to make fear-based decisions—focusing on what might be lost instead of what could be gained. This mindset breeds competition instead of collaboration, causing leaders to hoard information, resist delegation, or withhold support from others. Over time, it creates a culture of mistrust and control, where innovation is stifled and burnout becomes common. Leaders with a scarcity mindset often miss out on opportunities because they’re stuck in survival mode, playing it safe rather than thinking expansively. Most importantly, it limits their influence and growth—because leadership rooted in fear rarely inspires transformation. Segment Two: The Power of an Abundant Mindset Now contrast that with an abundant mindset. This mindset says, “There’s more than enough.” It operates from the belief that value multiplies when shared, and success isn’t a zero-sum game. An abundant leader... Believes collaboration breeds more opportunity. Shares knowledge and empowers others. Celebrates others' wins without feeling threatened. This mindset creates environments where people thrive, innovation flows, and trust grows. And most importantly—it shifts leadership from self-preservation to service. An abundant mindset unlocks confident, values-driven leadership that fosters growth, innovation, and collaboration. Leaders who operate from abundance believe there's enough opportunity, success, and resources for everyone—so they make decisions rooted in vision, not fear. This mindset encourages generosity, knowledge-sharing, and empowering others, which builds trust and boosts team morale. It creates space for creativity and risk-taking because the focus is on potential rather than limitation. Leaders with an abundant mindset attract opportunities, cultivate strong relationships, and inspire those around them to rise. They’re more resilient in the face of challenges and more likely to create long-term, sustainable impact. Segment Three: How to Shift Your Mindset So how do you make the shift? Here are three simple but powerful steps: 1. Name the Scarcity. Start by identifying where scarcity shows up in your thoughts or actions. Is it around money? Recognition? Control? Awareness is the first step toward transformation. 2. Practice Gratitude. Gratitude is the antidote to scarcity. Begin each day by listing three things you’re thankful for. It helps retrain the brain to focus on what is present, not what is missing. 3. Act with Generosity. Give something away—time, knowledge, credit, encouragement. Each act of generosity reinforces the truth that giving doesn’t subtract from your value—it expands it. And don’t underestimate the power of community. Surrounding yourself with others who think abundantly helps reinforce the shift you're making. Call to Action Here’s your leadership challenge this week: Identify one area where a scarcity mindset is holding you back. Then take one small step in the direction of abundance. Maybe that’s mentoring someone, sharing a resource, or celebrating a peer’s win without comparison. If this episode challenged or encouraged you, share it with a fellow leader. And leave a review—it helps more leaders like you find this podcast. Thanks for listening to The Leadership Coach Podcast. Until next time—lead with purpose, live with abundance.

S1:E5: Inspiring Others: Shake Up Your Snow Globe

Segment 1: Understanding True Inspiration (5 Minutes) John Roberson: Let’s start with what inspiration really is. Inspiration isn’t just about giving motivational speeches or offering compliments. It’s about igniting belief — belief in oneself, belief in a vision, and belief in what’s possible. Think about a time when someone made you feel like you could achieve more than you thought possible. What did they say? What did they do? Chances are, they connected with your values and reminded you of your potential. Here’s the key: Inspiration is not about making people want to follow you. It’s about helping people see why they should believe in themselves. Segment 2: How to Motivate and Encourage Others (10 Minutes) John Roberson: So how do you inspire others in practical ways? Let’s break it down into three actionable steps. 1. Lead by Example People are far more likely to be inspired by what you do than by what you say. Show resilience, demonstrate passion, and stay committed to your values. Your actions will speak louder than any pep talk ever could. Tip: Celebrate your progress and failures openly. Vulnerability inspires courage. 2. Connect with Purpose People are driven by purpose. Take time to understand what motivates those around you. Ask questions like: What excites you about your work? What impact do you want to make? What challenges are holding you back? When you align their goals with the greater mission, their energy and engagement will soar. 3. Encourage Growth Inspiration happens when people see growth in themselves. Provide opportunities for growth by: Offering constructive feedback Recognizing achievements Encouraging continuous learning People crave progress. When they feel empowered to grow, they stay inspired. Segment 3: Motivation vs. Manipulation (5 Minutes) John Roberson: Now, I want to pause and address something important — the difference between motivation and manipulation. Motivation is empowering. It’s about helping others see their potential and supporting their growth. Manipulation is self-serving. It’s pushing people to act for your benefit, often through fear or guilt. Ask yourself this: Am I inspiring others to grow for their sake, or for mine? True leaders build people, not just results. Segment 4: Sustaining Long-Term Encouragement (5 Minutes) John Roberson: Inspiration isn’t a one-time event — it’s a commitment. Sustaining motivation requires consistency. Here’s how you can maintain it: Be Present: Regularly check in with your team. Ask how they’re doing and listen actively. Celebrate Progress: Recognize both big wins and small steps forward. Appreciation fuels motivation. Keep the Vision Alive: Remind people why their work matters. Keep the mission visible and vibrant. When people feel seen, valued, and connected to a purpose, their drive remains strong. Closing Thoughts and Call to Action (2 Minutes) John Roberson: Remember — inspiring others doesn’t require a title. It requires intention. Every day, you have the opportunity to encourage someone, to speak life into their goals, and to remind them of their potential. So here’s your challenge this week: Find one person you can inspire. It could be a coworker, a friend, or even yourself. Offer encouragement, celebrate their progress, and remind them of what they’re capable of. And if you found today’s episode valuable, don’t forget to subscribe to The Leadership Coach Podcast and share it with someone who could use a little inspiration. I’d also love to hear your stories. Who has inspired you in your life? Reach out to me on insta @P510Coaching and let’s continue the conversation. Until next time, remember — true leadership is about lifting others up. Keep leading with purpose and keep inspiring. Outro Music:
