The Spiritual Community was recently rocked by a high-profile New Age 'guru's Manslaughter charge in light of a tragic incident that occurred at one of his ceremonies last year. Samuel B. Lee (MD)'s 'sacred' ceremonies administer a stack of synthetic mind-altering substances that is dubbed a 'Heart-Healing Protocol.' What is known is that Tina Sodhi, the woman who sadly passed under his care, who was found in the sauna unresponsive the morning after the protocol. She had signed a waiver for this $2000 protocol that included a detox, and apparently, allegedly had not disclosed a particular underlying heart condition, which could lessen the burden on this charge. While some would focus on the incident, this episode is moreso intended to explore the deeper conversations this incident opens within the spiritual community at large, and the need for greater accountability and integrity within the medicine community and amongst leaders and 'influencers' with the spiritual and new age communities at large, as well as their 'followers' and all those on the path seeking Higher Truth. From a higher level perspective, yes, Tina's soul chose to exit in this manner, and the way I see it is that her soul is playing a great role in the exposure of these distortions, illuminating shadows that need to be witnessed and bringing to the surface suppressed truth. For this, we honor her life and her role, and send love, peace, and gratitude to her soul and to her family. In my humble opinion, we must honor her soul's role by actually having these difficult conversations. I posted about this on Friday and the post caused quite a stir, and this episode is a deeper discussion on the red flags I sensed, what arose in the comments, the issue of Truth, and what is required to move forward in integrity, collectively. But if people called for 'personal responsibility for choices' on Tina's part, we can certainly call into question the integrity of his practices and expect him to take personal responsibility and accountability for anywhere his judgement and integrity may have lapsed. And we can allow the Truth Warriors to speak. Again, this is about the broader conversations that have been brought to light through the response of the wider Spiritual Community as well.
