    Rethinking The Love of Money

You’ve heard it a hundred times — “Money is the root of all evil.” But that’s not what Paul said. And maybe it’s time we stop treating ambition, success, and wealth like dirty words in faith conversations. In this episode, I look at one of the most misquoted scriptures in the Bible — 1 Timothy 6 — and explore what Paul was really saying to Timothy. Spoiler: it wasn’t “live small.” It was “don’t let what you build own you.” ✨ What’s InsideWhy “the love of money,” not money itself, is the real issueThe truth about what was happening when Paul wrote this letter to TimothyHow young Timothy led a church full of wealthy influencers — and why Paul’s warning still hits home todayA modern example of bold generosity from CEO Dan Price, who cut his million-dollar salary so his employees could thriveWhat A Christmas Carol’s Scrooge can teach us about redemption, generosity, and joyA reframing of ambition: how to live bold, build big, and still stay grounded in faith 🔥 Take Action This WeekOpen your hand — just once. Pick one resource you have in abundance — money, time, influence, or space — and use it to lift someone else. Pay for someone’s meal. Mentor a friend who can’t afford your time. Introduce someone to an opportunity. The Shrewdness Gap

The world sells Pet Rocks with confidence. Maybe faith is meant to be just as bold. This week, we’re closing The Shrewdness Gap. -- Have you ever rolled your eyes when you hear about someone making a fortune off something simple — like Pet Rocks or those jelly bracelets that barely held their shape? Yeah, me too. In this episode, I’m diving into Luke 16 and the story of the shrewd manager — a guy Jesus called wise not because he was perfect, but because he was bold, creative, and quick on his feet. I started wondering: what if faith was meant to look more like that? What if we were supposed to use our time, quirks, and gifts with that same kind of confidence? I call it The Shrewdness Gap — the space between the loud, confident voices selling half-baked ideas and the quiet, gifted people (like us) who hide what’s real and call it humility. In this episode, you’ll discover: Why Jesus’ parable of the “dishonest manager” is really about resourcefulness, not money. The hidden power of your everyday gifts — even the ones you’ve buried.A simple, brave action to use your gift this week (yes, it might feel uncomfortable). This week, I’m challenging myself — and you — to pick one gift you’ve been hiding and put it to use. Bake something. Sing something. Share something. Just take one small, brave step and see what happens. 💛 Let’s Stay Connected If this episode resonated with you, share it with a friend or tag me on social. Why I Hated the Lost Sheep Story

I’ve hated this scripture for as long as I can remember. But when I finally dug deeper, I found something I didn’t expect — a story about being seen, carried, and celebrated. --- I have a confession: there’s a piece of scripture I’ve hated my whole life — the parable of the lost sheep in Luke 15. Every time I heard it, something inside me bristled. Why does heaven throw a party for the one who wandered off while the faithful ninety-nine get no celebration? In this episode of Unforeseen Journey, I unpack that tension. I dig into what this story meant to the people who first heard it, how it connects to our modern sense of community (or the lack of it), and why I think it still matters today. I also share my own story — a season when I drifted from the places and people who once felt like home, and what it felt like when no one noticed. It’s a story about being lost, about noticing who’s missing, and about remembering that we’re all worth being found. 💡 What You’ll HearThe truth about what a shepherd’s search really meant in Jesus’ timeHow I learned this parable isn’t about punishment — it’s about belongingThe moment I realized I’d been drifting tooA simple action you can take today to reach out, reconnect, and be seen 🔥 This Week’s SparkWhile you’re listening, open your phone and scroll your contacts. Send one quick text that says: “I miss your laugh.” Or, if you’re the one who’s been quiet, send a message that whispers: “I’m still here.” One text. One spark. That’s all it takes to shift the story. 💛 Let’s Stay Connected If this episode resonated with you, share it with a friend or tag me on social. I’d love to hear your own “found” moments.
