0013 The Boundaries That Set Your Free

Download the FREE Guide | https://servant.tools/theway Discover the framework for boundaries that empower your purpose. Are the boundaries you're setting freeing you to fulfill your purpose, or are they quietly binding you? When we started this work, we knew exactly why we were here: To transform you to help you fulfill your purpose. Yet for years, we kept getting pulled into everything else. People saw the videos and designs we produced and asked, "Could you do that for us?" We kept saying yes. It was good work, and sometimes great work, but it was in the wrong place. So we drew a line in one area. We said, “We won't build websites anymore.” We listed every reason we couldn't, and the line still kept slipping. In this episode, I share what finally changed. When a boundary lives in "I won't" and "I can't," all your attention goes to guarding the wall, and eventually you get too tired to hold it. The shift comes from asking a different question: What can I do? That question is the heart of The Servant's Way™, a simple five-stage process for setting boundaries that actually hold: I won't, I can't, I can, I will, I am. It works for any boundary. Once you're clear on why you're here, it comes alive, because every boundary gets anchored to your purpose. You stop forcing discipline, and the boundary holds the line for you. The Servant Framework™ aligns you to your purpose. The Servant's Way™ ensures you fulfill it. Start here: Take the free Purpose Assessment at https://servant.tools/assessment. It opens the door to our free masterclass, where I teach the same framework we've used for over twenty years to help you get clear on why you’re here. Let Us Know Your Thoughts Fulfill your purpose. 0012 Breaking Free From Routines. They Don't Help You.

Why do we all spend years of our lives doing the same thing everyday, knowing that our life will never change, and hoping that somehow it will?  This is something we’ve faced head on the last few years. Every one of us has familiar habits we cling to. They provide safety in the predictability. But what if those routines are actually holding us back?   In our latest podcast episode, Luke and I had the chance to sit down and chat. Luke has taught me so much over the years. He shared "The bad habits that we return to... may not even be bad, but they're familiar. It's the safety that comes with doing what you always do." The comfort of routines and the lie of consistency, he shares, lead us to the expectation that simply sticking to a routine will yield results. This can be misleading. Consistency should be about progressive overload, not merely repeating the same actions day in and day out. "You can't stay consistent at just doing the same thing every single day. You have to be consistently unpredictable." This perspective challenges the idea that predictability is beneficial.  Without purpose, we build routines around our lives that allow us to live in auto pilot and stay busy enough that it feels like we’re getting somewhere. Now, the issue is a lot more complex than it seems. In fact, simply ridding your life of your routines today won’t solve anything. We as humans need structure, consistency, and practice. Without those things, our life remains in chaos. The problem for most of us is, our lives never become more than our routines. This is where systems come in. A system is adaptable to any situation and allows you to apply the things that work without becoming rigid. The problem is simple: Routines fail to accomplish the goal as soon as the situation varies. Life is incredibly unpredictable, and no day is the same. If your routine remains the same everyday then, you are undeniably trying to control what is out of your control. As I shared with Luke, "I realized that I got stuck in these patterns in my life... But, I realized I can stop doing the routines and start living by systems." Fulfilling your purpose requires systems, not routines. The way you go about fulfilling your purpose is a system. One that is flexible and predictable at the same time, not bound by a routine. If you are using routines to fulfill your purpose, you can’t be present with the person standing in front of you that needs your help now. If you’re looking to fulfill your purpose, start by taking our FREE Purpose Assessment and Masterclass to get clear on why you’re actually here and start living it out in all you do. https://servant.tools/assessment Let Us Know Your Thoughts Fulfill your purpose. 0011 Yeah I Said That

You pick up your phone without ever deciding to. You put it down, and a few minutes later it's back in your hand. None of it feels like a big deal. It's just how the day goes. But add those minutes up over years, and a harder question shows up: is the way I'm spending my life actually moving me toward why I'm here? In this episode of Being You, Shayne sits down with his son Luke, back behind the mic, for an unscripted conversation about distraction, convenience, and passion, and what happens when all three collide. Shayne has always taught that a distraction is an opportunity. It's just not yours. Luke pushes on that and adds something to it: the small timesync that look harmless and quietly take whatever is left. A job that isn't yours to do all day. An escape from it all evening. And before you know it, you're asking what your life has become. “Convenience kills the desire for achievement”. This stopped Shayne in his tracks. In this conversation: Why a distraction is an opportunity, just not yoursWhat makes a real opportunity? The difference between escaping and legitimately stepping back to reflect and healWhat Luke found when he took the apps off his phoneWhy the longer you stay in what isn't yours to do, the more you need to escape itThe stress that drains you and the tension that strengthens youHow we've built an artificial version of nearly every human experience, and settled for close enoughWhy the right opportunities call for all of youLuke's take on AI (it may ruffle a few feathers)Fulfilling your purpose draws you toward the things that give you life. It puts you where you're doing the right thing, for the right reason, with the right people, at the right time.
