Taking on Big Tech & Advocating for Youth Mental Health (with Arielle Geismar)

This week, I sat down with Arielle Geismar, a youth advocate and digital wellness organizer who’s been making waves since she was 16. From leading one of NYC’s biggest student walkouts to now co-chairing Design It For Us, Arielle has been on the front lines of gun violence prevention, mental health advocacy, and tech ethics—often all at once. We talk about what it’s really like to grow up in advocacy work, how she’s built community both online and off, and the internal growth that comes with pushing for external change. Arielle’s perspective is raw, reflective, and grounded in the kind of wisdom that only comes from doing the work, even when it feels heavy. She also opens up about the advice she’d give her younger self, launching a digital wellness check-in on Instagram, and what it took to run for student body president—on the very last day to file. This conversation is for anyone who feels overwhelmed by big issues but still believes in building a life that’s meaningful and beautiful.
