    'Rainbow Body' by John Pattern

What does it mean to bring more light into your life — and what happens when ancient mantra, electronic music, movement, psychology, and the teachings of Ram Dass come together? In this episode of The Sound of Healing, Jason Amoroso sits down with musician and psychotherapist John Pattern to explore “Rainbow Body,” the title track from his new collaboration with the Archive of Ram Dass. John’s music has been a staple in Revelation Breathwork classes for years, helping support powerful emotional, spiritual, and embodied experiences. In this conversation, Jason and John listen to “Rainbow Body” together and explore the deeper intention behind the song and album. John shares how the Love Serve Remember Foundation invited him into the Ram Dass archives, where he discovered rare recordings of Ram Dass chanting ancient mantras. One of those recordings became the inspiration for “Rainbow Body” — and ultimately helped shape the entire album. They explore the concept of the rainbow light body, the power of mantra and visualization, bringing spirituality into ordinary daily life, John’s relationship with the teachings of Ram Dass and Alan Watts, and why movement and dance can become part of a spiritual practice. John also opens up about his own journey through addiction and recovery, how that experience transformed his relationship with music, and how his work as a licensed psychotherapist informs what he creates today. The conversation moves into a beautiful exploration of healing itself — including John’s perspective that healing happens when we stop fighting life and begin getting back into alignment with the regenerative nature of life. 'Nothing Goes to Waste' by Kemy Ogendi

What if nothing you've been through — not the heartbreak, the grief, the loss, or the struggles — was ever truly wasted? In this deeply moving episode of The Sound of Healing, Jason Amoroso sits down with singer-songwriter Kemy Ogendi to explore her beautiful song "Nothing Goes to Waste" and the profound message of faith, hope, surrender, and healing woven into her music. Kemy's music has been a beloved part of our Revelation Breathwork classes, helping people open their hearts, process emotions, and connect with something greater than themselves. In this heartfelt conversation, Kemy shares the surprising story behind "Nothing Goes to Waste," how the song became a way of processing her own grief, and why she deliberately chose to leave its musical ending unresolved. We explore the mystery of suffering, the relationship between grief and love, and what it means to trust that even life's most painful experiences can serve a greater purpose — even when we can't yet see how. IN THIS EPISODE, WE EXPLORE: - The unexpected inspiration behind "Nothing Goes to Waste" and how the song evolved into something much deeper. - How music gives us a way to express and process grief when words aren't enough. - Kemy's childhood experience of a family accident that forever changed her father's life and shaped her understanding of faith. - The difference between an angry "I don't know" and a hopeful, surrendered "I don't know." - Why the song intentionally ends on an unresolved note, reflecting the mystery and uncertainty of life. - How we move from trying to control life's circumstances toward acceptance, trust, and surrender. - Kemy's evolving relationship with God and her realization that faith isn't something she has to hold onto, but an experience of being held. - Her journey as a musician, her purpose of sharing the comfort she's received, and her upcoming album exploring childlike faith and trust. This conversation is a beautiful reminder that healing doesn't always mean finding answers, fixing what's broken, or understanding why something happened. Sometimes it means allowing ourselves to feel, surrendering what we cannot control, and trusting that love is still present in the mystery. As Kemy so beautifully expresses through her music, nothing goes to waste. Whatever Mike shares how the song emerged from years of spiritual study and honest self-examination. 'I AM' by Michael Gungor

In this episode of The Sound of Healing, Jason Amoroso sits down with Grammy-nominated musician, author, and podcaster Michael Gungor to explore his powerful song, “I AM,” from his album Magnificat. 🎵 Listen to “I AM” on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/track/7C9pqrrEUoukBd3O1HzrcU?si=ef5bab3c295d49ee The album came together during a chaotic and deeply personal season in Michael’s life. As wildfires swept through Los Angeles, Michael developed Bell’s palsy, leaving half of his face temporarily paralyzed. As sensation slowly returned, he experienced his body “welcoming itself home,” an experience that became part of the heart of Magnificat. Together, Michael and Jason explore “I AM” as more than an idea about God. Michael describes it as a spiritual practice, or “technology,” that can lead us beyond our thoughts, identities, and stories and into the direct experience of presence. Their conversation moves through the illusion of separation, the healing intelligence of the body, the mystery of Christ beyond religious dogma, and Jesus’ words, “Before Abraham was, I AM.” Michael also offers a provocative reflection on the cross and the anti-Christ: how religion can take something alive, fluid, and constantly being reborn and turn it into something static, permanent, and controllable. When the Church keeps Christ frozen on the cross, Michael suggests, it may be participating in the very energy that continually seeks to crucify Christ. They also explore breathwork, the courage it takes to feel what we are feeling, and what Michael calls the “death vortex”: the gradual letting go of who we thought we were so that we can become more fully present to life, freedom, and love. Michael shares the story of Ram Dass giving him the name Vishnu Dass, why that name served as an invitation back into his heart, and why he eventually no longer needed it. This is an expansive, provocative, and deeply human conversation about Jesus, healing, embodiment, identity, mystery, and the love already present within the most ordinary moments of our lives.
