    Perfect Storm

    Most episodes belong to the players. This one belongs to the Dungeon Master. Justin paints a world in this episode that feels vast, yet claustrophobic - voicing a significant number of NPCs, showcasing power structures that make Aarencia feel real in a way that only great homebrew worldbuilding can. At the center of it is a torture sequence that will make you feel sorry for Eldred, and if you blink you’ll miss a revelation about the drug Jett has been running from. This is exceptional DMing.     The note said Eldred left, but Adalina isn't convinced.     You Shall Not Passway

    The Yosai Passway wasn't the hard part. Getting through it together — with Adalina's anger still simmering and Jett being pulled aside for additional screening by local authorities — that was the hard part. By the time the party finds their inn and sits down to a warm meal, it almost feels like things might settle. After reconciling with Tomoé, Eldred is gone. A note is the only explanation left behind.     Reflections

    Tomoé ends the fight and proves something the party probably already knew — she is not the one to challenge. Eldred is on the back foot while Jett & Adalina find common ground and Jett learns that not all birds are bad. Isolated and unraveling in a way she probably wouldn't admit to, Eldred lashes out at herself — leaving her gyroscope behind as she walks away from it all.
