Decision-Making with the VIEW Framework: Use Your Invisible Data

Most people make decisions from one comfortable source of data. The VIEW framework opens up four more, and this solo episode walks you through all of them using a live decision of your own. In this episode Leah Goldman, the Intuition Strategist, closes out a four-episode run on the VIEW framework. Pick one decision from your business, career, leadership team, or personal life, hold it in mind, and work through each lens with lessons from the four guests who applied VIEW to their own live decisions. The VIEW framework, with a question for each lens * V: Value(s). What do I stand on, and what value does this decision create for my stakeholders, community, and ecosystem? Erin Davis, inclusion strategist, shows how where you stand shapes what you see. Listen to Erin’s episode * I: Insight. What data can I see, and who sees it differently? Leslie Ford, founder of Mom’s Hierarchy of Needs, turned burnout into research and shows how analytical data, trusted perspectives, and your own intuition work together. Listen to Leslie’s episode * E: Empowerment. What moves me and adds fuel? Mark Brightman explores intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, and strengths as the engine of execution. Listen to Mark’s episode * W: Wisdom. What do I already know, and whose story can light the way forward? Elaine Belson, who spent 30 years in psychology and therapy before enlisting in the Army at 42, shares her three steps for handling emotion: label it, locate its root, and identify what you can control. Listen to Elaine’s episode * The Long View (bonus). How much will this matter in five years? Tracy Litt’s ideas notebook offers a practical way to let a decision rest and see if the timing changes. Listen to Tracy’s episode Try it yourself * Values: What do I stand on, and what value am I delivering through this decision? * Insight: What can I see, and who sees it differently? * Empowerment: What moves me, and what adds fuel? * Wisdom: What do I already know, and whose story can light the way? * The Long View: How much will this matter in five years? Leading with Self-Authority and Wisdom feat. Elaine Belson

What if you already know more than you give yourself credit for? Elaine Belson is The Self-Authority Coach, a psychotherapist, mindset coach, and speaker with more than thirty years of experience. She helps women build self-authority: making decisions without second-guessing, setting boundaries without looking for permission, and defining who they are without seeking approval. At 42, she joined the U.S. Army as a social work officer and deployed to Afghanistan as executive officer for medical command. Elaine arrived at this chapter through a winding path full of valuable experiences. We use Corporate Tarot Cards® to explore where she stands, what’s in her way, and the next action to take. In my VIEW framework, the W stands for Wisdom, the learning we gain over a lifetime, both first-hand and from the experiences of others. Elaine shows us how feelings become fast-thinking data, and how the through-line of a varied career turns into wisdom. As you listen, look back at your own experiences, including the ones that never made it onto a resume. What’s the through-line, and what are your lessons learned? Then put them to use on a decision this week. Fueling Empowerment with Strengths and Community feat. Marc Brightman

What if the decision you’ve been deliberating is already made, and the only thing left is to say yes out loud? Marc Brightman is an executive and leadership coach, a Gallup-certified strengths coach trained in ontological coaching, and the founder of Brightway Coaching and Consulting, with over twenty years in senior roles across the tech industry. He also serves on the board of Stand Beside Them, which provides free coaching to post-9/11 veterans, their spouses, and caregivers. Marc came to our conversation weighing an advanced somatic coaching certification, a step into what he calls his growth edge. We use Corporate Tarot Cards® to explore that decision and the confidence it asks of him. In my VIEW framework, the E stands for Empowerment, the engine that builds momentum toward your goals. It runs on intrinsic motivation and external motivators, and Marc shows us both at work, along with the moment his decision picks up speed. As you listen, pick one decision on your plate this week. Name what pulls you toward it from within. Then consider who or what could add fuel from the outside. Turning Invisible Data into Insight feat. Leslie Forde

In this episode, I’m joined by Leslie Forde — founder and CEO of Mom’s Hierarchy of Needs®, author of Repair with Self-Care: Your Guide to the Mom’s Hierarchy of Needs, and the researcher behind the longest-running study of its kind on the pandemic’s impact on work, care, and wellness. We dive into Insight, the I in my VIEW framework, and how Leslie turns data and perspectives into tools that help organizations fix the systems that hold working parents and caregivers back. * How Leslie’s own burnout became the Mom’s Hierarchy of Needs after sketching her idea on a piece of paper * 85 calls in six weeks: how conversations with HR leaders shaped her employer framework * Making invisible data visible so organizations can act on what they’ve long sensed * Writing a book as a creative, healing act, and how the two-and-a-half-year process sharpened her thinking * What comes up when Leslie interprets her own Corporate Tarot Cards® reading, live on the show Stick around to the end for a bonus pen-nerd moment, when Leslie and I discover we have the same writing instrument preferences (my favorite pen is a 0.7 Mitsubishi in black ink, for the curious). 🖊️ Learn more about Leslie’s work: Website: MomsHierarchyOfNeeds.comBook: Repair with Self-Care: Your Guide to the Mom’s Hierarchy of Needs TimeCheck app: timecheck.momshierarchyofneeds.comLinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/lesliefordeInstagram: @moms_hierarchy_of_needs Learn more about Intuition Strategy at IntuitionStrategist.com Book your free 15-minute Clarity Blueprint at ClarityBlueprintWithLeah.com Share with a friend, leave a review, and don’t forget to subscribe! Deciding to Trust and Becoming Aligned feat. Tracy Litt

In this episode, I’m joined by Tracy Litt — visionary founder of The School of Becoming, creator of The Choice Method, and someone mid-transformation herself: launching a second company to bring her IP directly into corporations and organizations. We dive into what it actually means to live in trust, why readiness is a decision and not a feeling, and what it looks like to build something that doesn’t depend on you being in every room. * Why “readiness is a decision, not a feeling” changes how you take action * Inside The Choice Method: notice the pattern, regulate the nervous system, choose from who you’re becoming * What comes up when Tracy reflects on her custom Corporate Tarot Cards® reading, live on the show * Trust as a discipline — why an idea can simmer before it’s time, and how strategy fits into intuition * Turning inward work outward: building a company (or a culture) that can run without you in it Learn more about Tracy’s work:Instagram: @thetracylitt LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/tracylittlesterWebsite: TheSchoolOfBecoming.comThe Choice Method: TheSchoolOfBecoming.com/the-choice-method Learn more about Intuition Strategy at IntuitionStrategist.comBook your free 15-minute Clarity Blueprint at ClarityBlueprintWithLeah.com Share with a friend, leave a review, and don’t forget to subscribe!
