Make A Difference Minute: Understanding Desmoid Tumors

On tomorrow’s Make a Difference Minute, UCLA oncologist and sarcoma specialist Dr. Noah Federman explains desmoid tumors, a rare condition affecting approximately 1,500 people each year in the United States. Although desmoid tumors do not spread to distant parts of the body like many cancers, they can grow aggressively into surrounding tissues, causing pain, nerve problems, limited mobility, and sometimes life-threatening complications. Dr. Federman explains why understanding these tumors and recognizing their potential impact is so important for patients like Sandra Miller. This Make a Difference Minute will be brought to you by Hydration Lounge, a proud community partner of The Mark White Show. We appreciate their support as we continue sharing stories of encouragement, service, and people making a difference in their communities. Real stories. Real people. Real impact. Make A Difference Minute: Don't Give Up on Finding Answers

On this Make a Difference Minute, Sandra Miller shares an important message for anyone struggling to find answers to a medical problem. After experiencing persistent numbness and pain in her leg, Sandra was eventually diagnosed with desmoid tumors. Her experience taught her the importance of speaking up, asking questions, and continuing to seek answers when something isn't right. Sandra wants others to know that reaching a dead end doesn't mean they have to give up. Sometimes finding the right specialist and getting the answers you need requires persistence. If you're facing unanswered medical questions, Sandra's encouragement is simple. Keep advocating for yourself. Don't give up. This Make a Difference Minute is brought to you by Bama Estate Planning by Attorney Harlan D. Mitchell, a proud community partner of The Mark White Show. We appreciate their support as we continue sharing stories of encouragement, service, and people making a difference in their communities. Real stories. Real people. Real impact.
