This is part 2 of our interview with the legendary Ray Grant on Toot Your Own Horn: Music Matters, hosted by Lisa Canning from Lisa’s Clarinet Shop and Working Musicians Academy. In this episode, Lisa sits down again with Ray Grant and asks some direct, important questions. Ray reflects on starting his professional career at just 25, becoming the youngest symphony orchestra manager in America at that time. In his own words, it pushed him to become “a bit of an a*****e” as he worked hard to deliver results.
