Suffering With Purpose: How God Redeems Our Pain

Hi! Welcome back to the Scrubbed In & Spirit Led podcast! We are a chapter of Nurses Christian Fellowship based in Rapid City, SD. Our mission is to encourage, equip, and empower nursing and pre-nursing students to be God’s light in the nursing field. In this week’s episode, your co-hosts, Kirsten and Mackenna, talk about what it means to suffer and how beautiful suffering can be…. if we let it. Here on earth is the only place where we will have to go through tragedies and suffering. So, if we are on this earth for such a scarce amount of time, we might as well use every last second of it to grow closer to Christ and testify of His goodness and strength. Tune in to this episode to hear how we can approach the idea of suffering with a changed mindset and learn some action steps to take when in a difficult season. Many times, God will give us more than we can handle to go through the pruning, crushing, and fire to grow closer into the likeness of Him. It is our job to be prepared and armor up to stand against the enemy who only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. It is through these trials where we can truly know and see God’s character on such an intimate and unique level. So, let’s learn how to partner with Him in the hard! Trusting God When You’re Running on Empty

Find Your People: Community in Nursing School

Hi! Welcome back to the Scrubbed In & Spirit Led podcast! We are a chapter of Nurses Christian Fellowship based in Rapid City, SD. In this week’s episode, your co-hosts, Kirsten and Mackenna, welcome a special guest! They interview NCF Rapid City’s very own faculty advisor, Amanda Mehlhaff – a lover of Jesus, mom, wife, educator, and friend. Together, they discuss the importance of community, especially in nursing school. Tune in to hear from a nursing educator herself about just how vital community is. From a faculty perspective, Amanda has seen students flourish when they have a sense of belonging and life outside of nursing school. She has also witnessed the devastating effects when students become isolated and develop “tunnel vision" during nursing school. This podcast is great for anyone at any stage of life, especially if you’re struggling to find community and want to get plugged in. Listen as these three offer advice and personal insight on how a Christ-centered community has gotten them through the craziness of life. After all, God never intended for us to do life alone – He intended for us to be surrounded by one another so we could all lead each other closer to Him. Battling Burnout with Biblical Truths

God’s Faithfulness in the Gleaning

They also talked with a special guest and NCF Rapid City member, Tessa, about her beautiful testimony and how God has worked in her life. She mentions how even when she felt she was gleaning (to gather “scraps” after a harvest) like Ruth, it was exactly where God needed her to be. PPE: Putting on the Armor of God

Hello! Welcome back to the Scrubbed In & Spirit Led podcast! We are a chapter of Nurses Christian Fellowship based in Rapid City, SD. Our mission is to encourage, equip, and empower nursing and pre-nursing students to be God’s light in the nursing field. In this week’s episode, your co-hosts, Kirsten and Mackenna, dive into Ephesians 6:10-20 in the Bible! They discuss what the Armor of God is, what it means, and how to wear it. Tune in to this real-time, honest episode about how we can protect ourselves and others when trials and tribulations arise. Although the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy (1 Peter 5:8-9) we have a much bigger, greater, and stronger God who enables us to fight back. For nothing can separate us from the love of God, and because of this, we can know that victory is ours through Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:35-39). Praise the Lord for that, friends. We love you and are praying this episode can be a blessing in Jesus’ name. Please know that this Scripture ministered to us, as we are currently working through this. Our hope is that it ministered to you as well. We are all human and fall short of the glory of God, but because of His grace, we can always strive to live a life that honors Him.
