Tea & Bedtime Stories

Tricia Sulpizio

Mark Twain was quoted as saying, “The man who does not read good books is no better than the man who can’t.” My name is Tricia Sulpizio, I am a professor of communication & I want to invite you to listen to my new podcast, Tea & Bedtime Stories. In each episode I’ll be reading a chapter from an important novel, reviewing a few quick facts from my research, & offering my insights & impressions of the story & the writing. In season 1, I will read “A Farewell to Arms” by Ernest Hemingway, a love story set during WW1 & published in 1929. I’ve never read it but heard it’s a great book, written by a very compelling author; we'll see.. A warm beverage & a story before bed helps us relax, reduce stress, & get better sleep. It can also improve our memory, expand our vocabulary, & significantly increase our knowledge of the people, places, & things that make the world interesting. Whether you just want to hear a calm voice while you drift off to sleep or you enjoy stimulation through conversation while relaxing with a good book, I want to encourage you to join me for tea & bedtime stories. I look forward to talking to you soon. Thanks for listening!

    Episode 7

A Farewell to Arms chapter SEVEN

According to an article I just read in psychology today, “Most fantasies serve a specific purpose: They can be entertaining, distracting, frightening, or, in the case of sexual fantasies, arousing. Fantasizing about specific goals can foster creativity, help someone better understand their wants and needs, and even enable them to plan for the future.” My name is Tricia Sulpizio & I am your host for another episode of tea & bedtime stories, a podcast for anyone who likes to discuss great authors & their books. In this episode, we will continue reading A Farewell to Arms, a novel by Ernest Hemingway, published in 1929. Last time, we read chapter SIX in book ONE, & now I will continue the story with chapter SEVEN. After reading the chapter, I will follow up with some quick facts & my impressions. I look forward to talking to you soon. Thanks for listening!
