The Siege of Orleans by Adeline Morrison

[Verse 1]  The garden of the soul was sown in silence, where the voices hummed like bees within the wheat. A shepherd girl who traded wool for iron, with starlight in her sandals for the street. The crown of France was rusting in the shadows, a kingdom carved by wolves and winter rain. She heard the bells of heaven ring in thunder, to wash away the harvest of the pain.  [Chorus]  Oh, the Maid is a mirror to the sun, a silver blade that cuts the dark in two. She is the siege that breaks the stone of sorrow, the morning light that turns the gray to blue. From the ashes of the field to the gates of the king, she carries the fire that the angels bring.  (solo) [Verse 2] The walls of Orléans were weeping mortar, the river held its breath against the tide. She rode a ghost of white across the water, with nothing but the spirit as her guide. No armor forged by man could hold the lightning, no fortress wall could keep the dawn at bay. She turned the tide of centuries in a heartbeat, and chased the hungry shadows from the day.  [Bridge]  They called her witch, they called her wild fire, they bound her to the stake of human fear. But flames are only wings for those who listen, to music that the deaf can never hear. The smoke becomes a veil for the ascension, the iron turns to gold within the heat. (solo) [Outro]  The embers cool, the story starts to bloom, a lily rising from the hollow room. She is the light, she is the light, she is the light.

A modified version of a poem from a book in the My Eclectic Collection series first published in 2015. You can find a copy here https://a.co/d/05iIa6bG These pictures are mine my moments in time  frozen little memories kept in frames of different kinds  they all show my love smiling they all tell many lies  my love inside was dying buttercup had lost her mind  I was running through the corn stalks placing rocks upon the road  lighting fires for smoke and cover  mom and dad they didn't know  Then a day would come when new blue jeans  I'd find atop my bed,  looked quite big but fit just right  and thick had grown my once thin chest  Never did I chase one  Never did I play the game  It would seem without a doubt I attract a different dame  Obvious I'd be taken  hungry eyes with ease could read  with a smile intertwined in time,  a treasure from my seed  these pictures are mine these pictures tell a story  If you look deep into her eyes you'll see the hope amidst the light  once a display of colors bright  all the smiles now black and white  I take this little six by ten  And with my eyes take it again  I close my eyes and play pretend  each flash it sends me back again  My little pretty red head friend the pain's too much wish it would end  If I paint you on my wall  and I meet you in my dreams  Will you be as I desire  set to, programmed as I need  If I pin these to the wall  in the order they occurred Sit with all these memories  and see them all returned  will it feel as once it did  ignite that fire that once burned  Or will I drown in my tears  as these pictures make me hurt  These pictures are mine my once upon a times  they show the faces of our past  hold the memories of our lives  take a picture of me now  keep it safe so we can see  in another little while where we all just then might be
