Cain has a wife. Cain fears others will kill him. Cain later builds a city. So where did all these other people come from? Some argue that Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 describe two separate creations of humans — a group of “Day Six people” outside Adam and Eve, and then Adam later formed in the garden. But does Genesis actually require that? Or does the Bible give us a simpler answer? We walk through Genesis 1–5, the 130-year window before Seth, Adam’s unnamed sons and daughters, Eve as the mother of all living, Cain’s fear, Cain’s wife, Cain’s city, the Gap Theory question, and the New Testament teaching that all humanity is one family under Adam. We also answer common objections from the comment section, including: Who was Cain afraid of? Did Cain marry his sister? Could Adam and Eve have had children before the fall? In this Monday Deep Dive, we examine one of the most dismissed and misunderstood subjects in biblical cosmology: the firmament. Modern readers are often trained to treat the firmament as primitive poetry, outdated cosmology, or merely “the atmosphere.” But ancient literature tells a very different story. Across Jewish, Mesopotamian, Persian, Egyptian, and early Christian sources, the heavens are repeatedly described as structured, bounded, layered, crystalline, metallic, watery, or vault-like. Tonight, we walk through the ancient witness and compare it with Scripture itself. We look at Genesis and the Hebrew word raqia, the waters above and below, Job’s “molten mirror” sky, Psalm 148’s “waters above the heavens,” Ezekiel’s crystal-like firmament beneath the throne, Josephus’ crystalline firmament, Jubilees’ division of the waters, Enoch’s vaults and pillars of heaven, and other ancient cosmological echoes. Then we move into modern anomalies and circumstantial evidence: Operation Highjump, Antarctica, Operation Fishbowl, high-altitude testing, rocket footage, sky-ice claims, whistleblower traditions, and the question of whether modern evidence may dovetail more closely with the ancient world than we have been allowed to consider.
