The Truth About Peptides, Inflammation, and Post-Cancer Recovery

I am so excited for you to hear this conversation. This week on Her Health Her Way, I sat down with Jessica Loftis — health coach, fitness founder, and breast cancer survivor — and honestly, this is one of those episodes that stuck with me long after we stopped recording. Jessica's story starts in a place you wouldn't expect: she was a rodeo queen and a competitive athlete long before any of this. But life took her through postpartum depression, a total re-evaluation of what "healthy" even means, and then a stage 1A breast cancer diagnosis that she kept private for months — all while running multiple businesses and raising her daughter. We talk about why she made that choice, how she found the courage to advocate for her own care, and why she ultimately turned down radiation in favor of a different path. What I loved most about this conversation is how Jessica blends real medical care with a holistic, non-toxic lifestyle. She walks me through how she uses microdosed peptides — things like GLP dual agonists and immune modulators — to lower inflammation and support her body through recovery. We also get into the "champion mindset" she credits with getting her through it all, and how her faith shaped that. Toward the end, she tells me about Elevate, the program she built to help other people find that same long-term, vibrant health. If you've ever felt like your diagnosis or your health struggles don't define you, or you're looking for a more holistic way to think about healing, I think you're really going to connect with Jessica. 5 Harvest Spice Diffuser Recipes I Use All Year (Not Just Fall)

Harvest Spice Masterclass: Why This Is My Favorite Diffuser Blend Fall is a feeling. Warm. Gathered. Grounded. Safe. Everybody home. And honestly? I want my house to feel like that way more than just three months out of the year. That’s why Harvest Spice has been my favorite diffuser blend for years, and why I stock up when it comes back around. In this episode, I’m breaking down what makes this blend so special, what’s actually inside it, why scent can have such a powerful connection to memory and emotion, and how I use Harvest Spice throughout my home all year long. 🌿 What’s inside Harvest Spice? There are just six essential oils in the blend: CassiaCloveEucalyptusCedarwoodNutmegCinnamon BarkTogether, they create that warm, spicy, cozy aroma; but each oil also brings something different to the blend. Cassia brings that unmistakable warmth. Cinnamon softens it and gives it that “something is baking” feeling. Clove adds depth. Eucalyptus keeps the blend from feeling too heavy. Cedarwood grounds everything. And Nutmeg ties the spice and wood notes together. 🧠 Why scent matters so much One of my favorite parts of this episode is talking about the connection between smell, memory, and emotion. Scent has a very direct connection to the parts of the brain involved in memory and emotion, which is why one smell can instantly take you back to your grandmother’s kitchen, a childhood holiday, or a specific season of life. And that also means we can intentionally create new scent associations. I love diffusing Harvest Spice around the same time of day, especially when everyone is coming home, because over time, that aroma becomes connected with: We’re home. We’re together. The day is winding down. You’re not just making your house smell good. You’re creating an anchor. ✨ My favorite Harvest Spice diffuser recipes: Harvest Spice is beautiful on its own, but I also love using it as a base and changing the vibe. The Vanilla One 8 drops Harvest Spice3 drops VanillaSofter, sweeter, and a little more bakery-inspired. The Bright One 8 drops Harvest Spice2–3 drops Wild OrangeThis is one of my favorites for August and September when you still want that lighter, fresher feeling. Extra Spicy 8 drops Harvest Spice1–2 drops Cinnamon BarkPerfect for fall gatherings, Sunday dinners, and that full-on baking aroma. The Cabin 8 drops Harvest Spice4 drops Cedarwood2 drops Siberian FirThis one smells like a cabin in the woods and is so good for cooler evenings. Pumpkin Spice Latte 8 drops Harvest Spice3 drops Vanilla2 drops CardamomIf you want your house to smell like a coffee shop without actually drinking another PSL… this is the one. 😅 🏡 Where I use it: Harvest Spice goes everywhere in my house. 🚽 Bathroom: I love using it in a motion-sensor diffuser because nobody remembers to spray anything after they leave the bathroom. 🍳 Kitchen: Especially after cooking, or when everyone is starting to come home for the evening. 🚪 Entryway: Your home’s scent is one of the first things people experience when they walk through the door. 🛋️ Living spaces: Great for that warm, gathered feeling when people are hanging out. 🛏️ Guest rooms: A simple way to make the room feel cozy and welcoming before someone arrives. One of my favorite tricks is simply running the diffuser about 30 minutes before guests come over. 🤍 Why I stock up Harvest Spice is only available for part of the year, and I personally use it far beyond fall. February? Absolutely. April? Yep. July? Also yes. Stock up now! https://link.doterra.com/r9LJyG Because the feeling I want from it has nothing to do with the calendar. I want my home to feel warm, grounded, inviting, and familiar all year long. So here’s my challenge: Pick one room, one transition, and two weeks. Maybe it’s dinner prep. Homework time. Sunday reset. The end of your workday. Diffuse the same scent at the same time and see what kind of association your home starts to build around it. Because sometimes the smallest rituals end up becoming the ones your family remembers most. 🤍 Disclaimer: The statements in this content have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Back To School Routine For Kids: The Week 3 Crash No One Warns You About

Back to school- The 3 week crash reset every child NEEDS this school year: In this episode, I’m breaking down why that “week three crash” is so predictable… and what you can start doing before school begins so you’re not scrambling once everyone is exhausted. Build the foundation before school starts You don’t build resilience the night before the first day of school. I like to start about two weeks ahead with a simple daily foundation: VMG+ for vitamins, minerals, and micronutrientsChewable Omegas for brain and cell supportPB Restore or PB Assist for gut supportOn Guard Beadlets or Softgels for immune supportThe goal is not to wait until the sniffles show up. It’s to support the body before the new schedule, disrupted sleep, stress, and classroom exposure begin. Reset the morning before forcing bedtime If your kids have been staying up late and sleeping in all summer, don’t suddenly put them to bed two hours earlier and expect them to fall asleep. Start by gradually moving their wake time earlier and getting bright light into their eyes first thing in the morning. Their bedtime can begin shifting naturally as their body clock adjusts. It also helps to rehearse the school morning a few days ahead: wake up at the school-day timeeat breakfastfind the backpacksorganize supplementswork out any friction before the first day Why week one can be misleading: The first week often feels surprisingly easy. New teachers, new clothes, new friends, and adrenaline carry everyone through. But underneath that excitement, sleep debt, sensory overload, and germ exposure can be building. By week three, things shift. That is often when we see the after-school meltdowns, low energy, scratchy throats, emotional overload, and kids who seem completely fine at school but fall apart the second they get into the car. They are not giving you a hard time because you are doing something wrong. You are the safe person, so their nervous system finally lets go. After-school emotional support A few tools I like to have ready are: BalanceAdaptivWild OrangePepperminta diffuser running when they get homea protein-rich snackScent connects quickly with the emotional centers of the brain, which is why a familiar calming aroma can help the body begin to settle before you have even talked through the entire day. And please do not underestimate the protein snack. A tired, overstimulated child plus a blood sugar crash is not exactly a recipe for a peaceful evening. Support for kids in sports Children going straight from school into practices or games have long days with very little recovery time. For a simple sports bag, I like: Deep Blue Rub or StickPeppermintWild OrangePastTense StickBreathe StickLavenderFrankincenseCorrect-Xa few Band-AidsThese give them simple tools for tired muscles, bumps, bruises, head tension, and that afternoon slump. Always check your school and team rules before sending products with your child. When the first sniffle shows up: By week three, that first scratchy throat or stuffy nose can feel inevitable. Some of the tools I like to have ready include: On Guard Beadlets or SoftgelsBreathe productsDDR Prime SoftgelsOregano, Thyme, or On Guard diluted on the feetLavender, On Guard, or Breathe in the diffuser at nightDeep Blue, PastTense, or Peppermint for head tensionplenty of water and consistent sleepThe goal is to support the body early instead of waiting until the whole house is struggling. The “Backpack Pharmacy” Depending on what your school allows, a simple backpack kit might include: On Guard Hand Sanitizing Mista Balance or Adaptiv rollerWild Orange and PeppermintCorrect-XBand-AidsPastTense or Deep Blue StickClaryCalm or a Ginger roller for teen girlsRollers and sticks are especially helpful because they are simple, mess-free, and easy for older children to use independently. Jen’s Week Three Power Roller This is the roller I want made before week three arrives: 10 drops Frankincense15 drops Lemon15 drops Oregano15 drops Tea Tree15 drops On GuardFractionated coconut oil10 ml roller bottleAdd the essential oils to the roller bottle, then fill the rest with fractionated coconut oil. I like to apply it to the bottoms of the feet, along the spine, behind the ears, or around the throat area as needed. For younger or more sensitive children, dilute it further. If an oil ever feels too warm on the skin, apply more fractionated coconut oil or another fatty carrier oil; not water. When week three arrives, you will not be blindsided. You’ll have the foundations in place, the routines established, and a few simple tools ready to support your family through the transition. Because prepared feels a whole lot better than panicked.  Ajay’s Sleep Schedule Fix Video: https://youtu.be/n-d3U4wcpWs  Links to products mentioned (customizable!) https://link.doterra.com/bciYlh Disclaimer: The statements in this content have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Essential Oil Travel Kit | What I Pack for Flights, Road Trips and Family Vacations

I’m taking you inside my actual travel wellness kit; not just a random list of products, but the reason each one earns a spot. Because when you’re traveling, you don’t need everything you own. You need a few versatile tools that can help with the things that actually come up: motion sickness, upset stomachs, sun exposure, scraped knees, poor sleep, unfamiliar hotel rooms, sore muscles, and kids who suddenly need something the second the seatbelt sign turns on. 😅 My Core Four Travel Oils These four never leave my travel bag: 🌿 Lavender My most versatile travel oil for calming emotions, soothing skin after sun or bug bites, supporting bedtime, and helping with everyday bumps and scrapes. 🫧 Tea Tree My first step when the skin gets broken: cuts, scraped knees, blisters, or little vacation mishaps. 🤍 Frankincense One of my favorites for head bumps, tension, and those moments when both the child and the parent need to calm down. ❄️ Peppermint Helpful for cooling down after a hot day, head tension, and taking the edge off a queasy stomach during car, boat, or plane travel. Together, they cover four basic jobs: calm, cleanse, soothe, and cool. Motion Sickness + Digestive Support For car rides, boat trips, amusement parks, and travel stomachs, I like to keep: GingerPeppermintDigestZen oil, softgels, or chewable tabletsMetaPWR GumGinger is one of my favorite “before travel” oils, while peppermint is easy to inhale when someone starts feeling off. DigestZen is helpful when I want one blend that supports several different digestive concerns; especially when vacation food looks a little different than what we normally eat at home. My Five-Minute Hotel Room Reset Before I unpack, I make the room feel familiar. I set up a diffuser with On Guard, Harvest Spice, Lavender, or Serenity, lightly mist the bedding and pillows, and wipe down the areas we’ll be using. It’s not about pretending a diffuser sterilizes an entire hotel room. It’s about replacing that stale, unfamiliar smell with something clean and recognizable. Smell connects directly to the part of the brain tied to memory and emotion. So when your family smells the same Lavender or Serenity they use at home, the nervous system recognizes it. Sun, Skin + Destination Support I always think ahead and ask: What could we run into at this destination? Beach: sun, wind, dehydration, scraped kneesLake: mosquitoes, ticks, blistersMountains: sore muscles, changing weather, outdoor exposureFlights: dry skin, poor sleep, motion sicknessA few of my travel staples include: ☀️ Mineral sunscreen and After Sun spray 🦟 TerraShield Outdoor Blend 🩹 Correct-X ✨ Helichrysum 💙 Deep Blue Rub or Stick 🧴 A good moisturizer My Simple First-Aid Formula For everyday cuts and scrapes: Cleanse with Tea TreeSoothe with LavenderProtect with Correct-XThat simple three-step routine handles a surprising amount of childhood. 😅 Helichrysum also stays in my kit for bruises, knots, and tissue support, while Deep Blue earns its space for sore muscles, stiff necks, unfamiliar mattresses, and the recreational activities we suddenly think we can still do on vacation. Don’t Abandon Your Foundations Travel is not the time to stop doing the things that normally help you feel well. I still bring my: VMG+OmegasPB Restore or PB AssistTerraZymeCopaiba softgelsDifferent foods, schedules, water, and routines can throw the digestive system off quickly. Enzymes help break down food, probiotics support the gut, and Copaiba helps support a balanced inflammatory response. How I Pack It ✈️ Flying: I keep the Core Four, digestive support, Ginger, Helichrysum, Correct-X, sun care, sticks, gum, and chewables where I can reach them — not in the overhead bin. 🚗 Driving: I add the larger diffuser, foaming hand wash, Abode concentrate, full-size Deep Blue products, and the foundational supplements we’ll use throughout the trip. The biggest rule is simple: do not pack the things you may need immediately in the trunk or overhead compartment. Start with the Core Four this week: Lavender. Tea Tree. Frankincense. Peppermint. Then add one useful product every time you travel. Before long, you’ll have a kit that fits your family and helps you feel prepared instead of helpless. The Only Program That Ever Changed My Body

I have done so many workout programs over the years, and I can honestly say I have never gotten the results I’ve gotten with this one. That’s exactly why I had Megan and Liz back on the show. Every time I share a progress photo or mention that I’ve been with the program for a year, my inbox fills up with the same questions: How does it work? Do I have to track everything? Will I get bulky? What if I’m over 40? What if I only have 20–30 minutes a day? What if life gets crazy and I fall off track? So in this episode, we’re answering all of it. We talk about how the program works day to day, how the nutrition side is customized, why macros are set for your body specifically, and why having real coaching inside the app makes such a difference. We also talk about: ✨ why no foods are completely off limits ✨ why weighing your food matters more than people realize ✨ how the app works for workouts, tracking, swaps, and accountability ✨ why this is so different from using a free app on your own ✨ what a normal day of eating actually looks like ✨ how long it really takes to see results ✨ why the scale is not the whole story ✨ why strength training matters so much for women, especially in perimenopause and beyond One of my favorite parts of this conversation is how honest it is. This is not about starving yourself all week, being miserable, and starting over every Monday. This is about learning how to fuel your body, build muscle, feel stronger, and create something sustainable enough that it actually fits your real life. And if you’ve ever worried that lifting weights is going to make you bulky, we talk about that too; because so many women still believe that, and it keeps them from doing the exact thing that would help them most. We also touch on the community piece, the accountability, the non-scale victories, and why having a coach who actually sees what you’re doing can change everything. If you’ve been curious about the program, if you’ve been watching from the sidelines, or if you’ve been feeling stuck in that cycle of doing all the things and still not getting results… this episode is for you. 🤍 Check out their website: https://www.macromanageme.com Disclaimer: The statements in this content have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Deep Blue for Sore Muscles and Joints | Full Masterclass

Deep Blue is one of our most reordered products for a reason: people feel it works fast, they keep using it, and then they never want to be without it. In this episode, I’m breaking down exactly what Deep Blue is, why it works, what’s inside it, and how to use the full Deep Blue family in real life. And yes — the oil really is blue. Not because of dye. Because of chemistry. 💙 We talk about the 8 essential oils in the Deep Blue blend, why they were chosen, and how they work together to support hardworking muscles and joints before workouts, after workouts, after a long day, or anytime your body just needs a little extra help. In this episode: 💙 why Deep Blue is one of the most reordered products 🌿 the 8 oils inside the Deep Blue blend ❄️ why you feel that cooling sensation first, then warmth 🧠 how Deep Blue works with your body’s receptors to shift attention away from discomfort 💪 why athletes, massage therapists, and physical therapists love it ✨ the difference between the Deep Blue oil, rub, stick, and polyphenol capsules ⚠️ important safety notes, especially for kids and accidental eye contact We cover the 8 oils in Deep Blue: WintergreenCamphorPeppermintYlang YlangHelichrysumBlue TansyBlue ChamomileOsmanthusI also explain why some of those oils are so special, why some are more expensive and harder to source, and why doTERRA’s sourcing matters so much to me. We also talk about the full Deep Blue lineup: Deep Blue Oil — the most concentrated optionDeep Blue Rub — probably my personal favorite, especially by my bed or before a workoutDeep Blue Stick — easy, mess-free, and perfect for your purse or gym bagDeep Blue Polyphenol Complex — internal antioxidant support from the inside out My favorite ways to use Deep Blue: before and after workoutson the back of my neck at nightafter hiking, sports, golf, or long daysfor bumps and bruises in the housein a first aid kitanytime I need quick support and don’t want to reach for something else firstOne of the biggest things I want people to understand is this: Deep Blue isn’t just popular because it smells good or people are obsessed with oils. It’s popular because it works. It has become the “gateway oil” for so many people — especially the people in your life who are skeptical of essential oils until they actually try this one. 😅 Link to products: https://link.doterra.com/WwMAqd If you’ve never experienced Deep Blue before, this is absolutely the place to start. My Hair Is Reversing Gray at 48… Here’s What I’m Using

✨ My hair is reversing gray, my stretch marks are fading, and I’m sleeping better than I have in 20 years… at 48. In this episode, I’m sharing the 5 peptides I’m currently using, the foundations I had in place first, and why I believe that matters so much if you actually want peptides to work well. This is not a “just inject this and hope for the best” conversation. This is a foundations first conversation. In this episode we discuss:  ✨what peptides actually are and how they work 🧬 why peptides are like “text messages” to your cells 🤍 why gut health, omegas, protein, sleep, and micronutrients matter before peptides 💊 the supplements I’ve used for years to build my foundation 💉 the 5 peptides I’m personally using right now 👀 what changes I’ve noticed in my skin, sleep, energy, stretch marks, and hair My foundation before peptides: Omega-3s for flexible, healthy cell membranesCopaiba for inflammation + metabolic supportFrankincense for inflammation supportPB Restore for gut healthTerraZyme for breaking down protein and absorbing nutrientsVMG+ for methylated B vitaminsMetapower Advantage for collagen peptides + NMNSerenity sleep support for deeper recoveryHeavy strength trainingHigh protein intakeThe 5 peptides I’m using: 1. GHK-Cu skin supportcollagen + elastin supportinflammation supportthe peptide I believe is helping with fading stretch marks, firmer skin, and what I’m calling my “reverse gray” moment2. Glutathione master antioxidant supportsupports detox pathwaysespecially important for me because of my MTHFR mutation3. NAD supports mitochondrial energyhelps with ATP productionthe peptide I feel the fastest for energy + brain fog4. KPV gut lining supportinflammation supportone I was especially interested in because of my family history of autoimmunity5. Melanotan 1 supports melanin productionhelps fair skin protect itself better from sun damageunexpected benefit: I noticed better HRV, less anxiousness, and better resilience in the second half of my cycleWhat I’ve noticed: 🧡 more of my natural coppery red hair coming in instead of just more gray ✨ stretch marks fading 💧 better skin hydration 🌿 smoother texture 😴 better sleep 🧠 clearer brain function 💪 better recovery and resilience My biggest message: Peptides are not the foundation. They are the layer on top. If your gut is off, your inflammation is high, your sleep is poor, your protein is low, and your cell membranes are rigid… those signals are not going to land the way you want them to. That’s why I believe the real anti-aging work starts with the boring stuff first:  digestionnourishmentsleep muscle inflammation supportconsistency If you’re peptide-curious, please hear me on this: I still believe the foundation comes first. Always. So I linked both below: 🤍 My Foundations Cart This is the support I had in place before I ever added peptides — the things that help with gut health, inflammation, sleep, nutrients, and recovery. https://link.doterra.com/oNfz6o 💉 My Peptide Research Cart These are the peptides I talked about in this episode and the ones I’ve been personally exploring: GHK-Cu, NAD+, Glutathione, and KPV. https://kold.us/?saga_cart=691:2,694:8,5284:5,730:14&coupon=JEN&ref=mja2zdd  This episode is based on my personal experience only. I’m not a doctor, and I’m not telling you what to take. I’m simply sharing what I’m doing, what I’ve learned, and why I think the foundation matters just as much as the peptides themselves.
