The Cornell 7 and the Failure of Modern Parenting

The Cornell 7 case has sparked national outrage. Seven fraternity members accused of sexual assault, disturbing allegations involving a group chat, and serious questions about how Cornell University and law enforcement responded. But as two fathers, we have a different question: Where were the parents? In Episode 90 of World's Greatest Dad, Neil Padover and Ali Khan confront one of the hardest questions in parenting: What does it actually mean to raise a good man? Getting your kid into an Ivy League university is one thing. Raising a son who understands consent, respects women, and has the courage to stand up when his friends cross the line is something else entirely. We unpack the Cornell 7 allegations and the larger culture surrounding them, from fraternity life and the normalization of "locker room talk" to Joe Rogan, Donald Trump, Matt Walsh, and the men whose words and actions influence the next generation. We also discuss the responsibility of bystanders, the dangerous excuse of "boys will be boys," the difference between academic success and moral character, and how to talk to our own sons about consent, masculinity, and doing the right thing when nobody else will. The question at the heart of this episode: Are we just interested in raising successful boys or are we committed to raising good men too? If you're raising a son, we'd love to hear from you. How are you teaching him about consent, accountability, and respect? Subscribe to World's Greatest Dad for honest, unfiltered conversations about parenting, fatherhood, family, and the complicated world we're raising our kids in.

The Joy of Watching Your Kids Become Themselves with Guest Todd Weiser

Todd Weiser didn't expect to talk about donor conception when he sat down with us. But that's exactly where the conversation went. After struggling with infertility and undergoing two surgeries, Todd and his wife ultimately used donor sperm to have their two children. Their kids have known their story since they were little, and today Todd doesn't spend much time thinking about the fact that they don't share his DNA. He's simply Dad. But it raises a fascinating question: What actually makes us our children's parents? How much is nature? How much is nurture? And how much is simply showing up every day? Todd joins Neil and Ali for a wide-ranging conversation about donor conception, IVF, nature vs. nurture, modern fatherhood, raising independent kids, letting children be bored, religion and Jewish identity, separating art from the artist, sharing movies and music with your kids, and the strange realization that eventually your children become people entirely their own. Todd is a longtime television executive and storyteller whose career has included Animal Planet, Food Network and independent film, and he's now the co-host and producer of Heist Club, a podcast exploring incredible real-life heists. And after nearly two hours of conversation, Todd gives one of our favorite answers to the question of what makes being a dad so special: getting to watch your kids discover what they love. World's Greatest Dad is hosted by Ali Khan and Neil Padover, two dads trying to figure out fatherhood one conversation at a time. Subscribe for new episodes and clips about parenting, fatherhood, relationships, raising kids and all the stuff dads probably should be talking about more.
