Tiny Terrors – Kids, Chaos, and Crayons in the Ranch

Send us Fan Mail   In this episode of Beyond the Tip, Lashelle is back and we’re talking about the tiniest guests with the biggest energy: kids in restaurants. From the table where someone changed a diaper during dinner (yes, really), to the toddler tantrums louder than the espresso machine, we’ve seen it all. We swap stories about the children we secretly adore, the ones glued to their iPads, and the families who let their kids treat the dining room like a jungle gym. Whether you’re a server, a parent, or just someone who’s ever dodged a flying chicken tender—this one’s for you.  #BeyondTheTip #TinyTerrors #ServerLife #RestaurantKids #CrayonsEverywhere #LashelleUnfiltered

Call outs - The real reason you're working a double

Send us Fan Mail This week on Beyond the Tip, we’re calling out the call-outs—and yes, the tea is scalding. Special guest Lashelle joins us to dish on all things call-out culture: the drama, the guilt, the shady weekend disappearances, and the art of faking it without getting caught. We’re sharing our best (and worst) excuses, how to protect your mental health without losing your shifts, and exactly how Lashelle always gets away with it.  Oh—and we’re playing a drinking game: every time Lashelle says “I’m dead,” take a drink. (You’ve been warned.)  #BeyondTheTip #CallOutCulture #ServerLife #RestaurantTea #LashelleSaidImDead #ShiftDrama #DrinkResponsiblyButAlsoFrequently

Sidework – Spilling the Tea and Filling the Ice Bin

Send us Fan Mail  This week on Beyond the Tip, we’re spilling ALL the tea about that never-ending source of drama: sidework. From the newbies who pretend not to know how to sweep (malicious ignorance, anyone?) to the seasoned pros who always somehow vanish when it’s time to do roll-ups, we’re calling it all out. We also investigate the biggest mystery of the shift: How does Lashelle finish her sidework in 10 minutes flat?! Shea vents about co-workers, Megan’s tired of carrying the team (again), and Mac's ready to print chore charts like it’s restaurant kindergarten.  If you’ve ever been stuck doing everyone else’s sidework—this one’s for you.  #BeyondTheTip #SideworkStruggles #RestaurantTea #MaliciousIgnorance #ServerLife #LashelleHacksTheSystem

Passive Aggressive – Smiles, Shade, and Petty Energy

Send us Fan Mail This week on Beyond the Tip, we’re diving into the subtle (and not-so-subtle) world of passive aggression in the restaurant industry. From fake-smiling guests who weaponize politeness to servers dishing out petty energy with a side of sarcasm, no one’s innocent here. Shea shares the story of a server’s passive-aggressive power move that totally backfired, Megan (as always) gets stuck with the overly polite-yet-ruthless customers, and Mac recounts a table’s insult so wild, it weirdly turned into a compliment: “It tastes like shit... but I like shit.” Yeah, it’s that kind of episode. Oh, and yes—someone actually asked a server to sit down so he could tell her to smile more. Buckle up. It's a passive-aggressive rollercoaster.  #BeyondTheTip #ServerLife #PassiveAggressive #RestaurantStories #FakeNice #PettyMoves

Five Stars and a Side of Sass: The Truth About Reviews

Send us Fan Mail In this episode of Beyond the Tip, we’re serving up the raw truth about customer reviews—the good, the bad, and the ones that still keep us up at night. From the pressure to get that perfect Yelp mention to the awkward dance of asking for one, we break down what reviews really mean for servers. With Megan out sick, Shea and Mac are joined by special guest Madi (aka Junior Sass), who shares their take on review culture and the weirdest feedback they’ve seen. Grab a pen—you might just learn how to ask for that five-star review without sounding like a robot.

    Off the Menu: Random Stories

Send us Fan Mail  In this episode of Beyond the Tip, we're cleaning out the story fridge and serving up a smorgasbord of delicious randomness. From bizarre customer encounters to oddball co-worker moments, these are the tales that didn’t quite fit anywhere else—but were too juicy to toss. No theme, no structure—just pure, unfiltered server chaos. Consider it the restaurant industry’s version of a chef’s special: strange, satisfying, and probably not health code approved.

Training Day: Trays, Tears, and Trial by Fire

Send us Fan Mail Remember your first day on the floor? Yeah… we do too—unfortunately. In this episode of Beyond the Tip, we’re flashing back to those nerve-wracking, hilarious, and sometimes disastrous training days. We swap stories about our time training at the restaurant where we all met (shoutout to the chaos), and yes, we talk about dropping trays—plural. Whether you were thrown into a packed section with no clue or made your trainer question everything, you’re not alone. This one's for the newbies, the veterans, and everyone who's ever questioned their life choices after day one. #TrainingDay #BeyondTheTip #ServerLife #TrayDropClub #FirstDayFails #RestaurantChaos
