    40 Days Fasting Prayers 2025 - Day 37 - Voice of the cross of Christ Thought for Day 36 and 37 Day 36: Trials and Sanctification James 1:2,3 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. Third sanctifying agent is “Trials we face”. The thing that we hate most….and pray that our Lord may keep us from are the trials we face. These cleanses us more than any other. Trials will show us our true self…..what our heart is actually processing….and our dependence on God. Think about Israelites’ journey in wilderness. Why wilderness experiences? God can protect us from outside demonic forces like in Egypt. But he cannot protect us from ourselves. The greatest temptation that they faced is riches and milk and honey in the promised land. Trials will bring detachment to this worldly stuff. No wonder for apostle Peter…trials are very precious. Ps 119:67 Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word. Day 37: Fellowship and Sanctification Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom….. One more sanctifying agent that the Bible records is “Fellowship”. A believer is never called to be alone. There are 59 “one another” passages in the New Testament showing how fellowship has to be. As much as we need to love and encourage one another…..we need to admonish one another too. Admonishing is actually correcting (sanctifying) one another. Interestingly, the context of this passage is with fulness of Word of God. We all will be always ready to admonish…..but not to receive admonishing. When was the last time you received admonishing from a fellow believer?     40 Days Fasting Prayers 2025 - Day 33 - Latter Rain Thought for Day 31, 32 and 33 Day 31: Fasting and Sanctification Ps 51:7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Whatever the reason that triggers our fasting, it must result in our sanctification. One has to chastise his soul with fasting. Now sanctification requires removal of certain things. Have you ever thought that purging is painful. It’s like cutting off our right hand if convicted of sin. Purging and pruning result in fruitful Christian life. Sanctification requires conviction and radical willingness. When was the last time we experienced pain in sanctification? John 15:2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Day 32: Hurdle for sanctification Ps 95:7 For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, as on the day at Massah in the wilderness, The most important hurdle for sanctification is Hardened Heart. You see that time and again all across the scriptures. Hardened heart, as defined by the Lord in Mark 8:17, 18….cannot see, hear, understand or remember. Hardened heart is result of our indulgence in day to day stuff. People at Massah did exactly that. Lord called hardened heart people as rebellious people!!!! How easily we can rebel against God!! Lord sanctify me🙏 Heb 3:16 For who were those who heard and yet rebelled? Was it not all those who left Egypt led by Moses? Day 33: Conviction and Sanctification John 16:8 And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: Another most important thing in the process of sanctification is the conviction from the Holy Spirit. He convicts the non-believers of sins. He convicts the believers of righteousness and all people of judgement. When we don’t harden our hearts we get the conviction from the Lord. When was the last time we felt that deep conviction of the Lord? He commanded that this written document must be made available to all people and they have to read that while fasting. Lord said…after that perhaps they may acknowledge their mistakes and seek mercy.
