    In der dritten Folge geht es um Georgien in Geschichte und Gegenwart. Stefan Kirmse hat Oliver Reisner zu Gast, der seit vielen Jahren in Tbilisi lebt und forscht. Es geht um die georgische Nationalbewegung vom späten Zarenreich bis heute, um die Rolle von nationalen Minderheiten und den Kaukasus als Ort der Vielfalt und historischen Hub der Globalisierung. Vor allem dreht sich das Gespräch aber auch um Georgien heute: den Zustand von Recht und Demokratie, den Einfluss Russlands sowie die Frage, ob und wie Forschung und Zusammenarbeit unter den Bedingungen einer zunehmend autoritären Ordnung noch funktionieren können.

    Episode 2: Blutanklage im Kaukasus. Georgische Juden und der Kutaisi-Prozess (1878-80)

    In dieser Folge geht es um einen faszinierenden Kriminalfall, der sich um 1880 im Kaukasus ereignete. Im Prozess von Kutaisi standen neun georgische Juden im Verdacht, ein christliches Mädchen entführt und getötet zu haben. Angeblich hatten sie ihr Blut für religiöse Zwecke missbraucht. Dieser Fall von Blutanklage – ein Vorwurf, dem sich Juden in Europa seit dem Mittelalter immer wieder ausgesetzt sahen – wird im Rahmen des JUSTIMINO-Projektes aktuell untersucht. Leo Hedrich unterhält sich mit Stefan Kirmse und Archil Longurashvili, die beide zur Lage der georgischen Juden sowie zum Prozess und seinen Auswirkungen forschen. Was sagt er uns über Justiz des Zarenreiches? Welches Licht wirft er auf den russischen Kolonialismus? Und wie ging der Prozess eigentlich aus?
