You may be wondering, what does Ubuntu mean?   Ubuntu is a Southern African philosophy which focuses on strengthening, healing and restoring an individual so that they can also contribute to the building of healthy communities where everyone thrives, even though we are different human beings with different interests. Also known as ‘Unhu’ in Shona, the ubuntu concept encourages togetherness and being human towards one another because our individual significantly influence who we are as societies and who we become. I AM BECAUSE WE ARE!   I’m your host, Fortune Ma-one, a cheerleader by nature and someone who finds inspiration from people of different walks of life -  incredible people met along the way. I’m a mum to two incredible children who have almost flown the nest! Was born and bred under the African sun and have lived in the UK for the past 22 years. I’ve worked in several organisations, large and small. I have a degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management and a Masters in International Management.    I’ve always loved writing and sharing stories, and my official story – telling journey began as a blogging platform in 2018! I am the founder of Ubuntu Courtyard which has evolved into a book publishing adventure. I’ve since published my debut book, HILLTOP and have helped another, a pensioner to publish her debut book at 69 – years of age.    But that’s not why I’m here.   I’m here because I LOVE sharing knowledge and insights through storytelling! Was raised on stories and tend to remember stories more than bullet points. I hope your time spent on this platform will encourage you to go live, love and work better, whoever you are, wherever you’re from. We may be different in many aspects of life but we are all human beings with similar wants and needs.
