34 | My Walk With God: Still Learning, Still Growing, and Not Ashamed.

I've always had God in my life, but having God in your life and truly building a relationship with Him are two different things. And that's something I'm learning. I have come a LONG WAY.  In my twenties, I was saved and baptized. But somewhere along the way, I strayed. I never stopped believing in God, but if I'm being real, there were plenty of times I only turned to Him when life got hard, when I was struggling, or when I needed something. Now, I'm at a place in my life where I genuinely want to know Him better. I'm reading my Bible, asking questions, learning to understand Scripture, and working on building a relationship with God that goes beyond just calling on Him when things aren't going my way. And here's the thing. I'm not perfect. I don't have all the answers. I'm still learning, still growing, and still figuring things out. But one thing I do know is that I'm not ashamed to publicly say that I believe in Jesus Christ. In this episode, I'm opening up about my personal walk with God, where I've been, where I am now, and why I'm choosing to share this part of my life. Also, talking about how we go through a stage of trying to figure out what is "right" vs "wrong". This isn't about preaching to anyone or pretending I have it all together. It's simply about sharing my journey, being honest about my imperfections, and growing in my faith one day at a time. Because you don't have to have everything figured out to start building a deeper relationship with God.

31 | Stop Taking Advice From People Who Don't Want What You Want

We've all done it. We have a dream, an idea, or a goal we're excited about, and the first thing we do is ask someone else what they think. The problem? Not everyone is qualified to give you advice. If someone has completely different goals than you, why would you expect them to understand yours? In this episode we'll talk about: Your goals aren't their goals. Someone who loves stability may never understand why you want to start a business. Someone who hates social media probably isn't the person to ask about growing on TikTok. Someone who has never taken a risk may genuinely think they're protecting you when they tell you not to do something. They're giving advice based on their life, not yours. A personal example I had someone tell me that talking videos don't work on TikTok because people have short attention spans. For a second, I questioned myself. Then I stopped and thought... "I like watching talking videos." If I do, chances are millions of other people do too. The difference? She and I use TikTok for completely different reasons. Her advice wasn't wrong. It just wasn't right for my goals. Consider the source. Before you take someone's advice, ask yourself: Do they have the life I want? Have they actually done what I'm trying to do? Are they speaking from experience or opinion? Are they encouraging me from knowledge or from fear? Not all advice deserves equal weight. Sometimes good people give bad advice. This isn't about judging people. Your family loves you. Your friends love you. They may genuinely believe they're helping. But if they've never built a business, they probably aren't the best person to tell you how to build one. If they've never started over at 50, they may not understand why you're finally chasing a dream. Protect your vision. Every new idea is fragile. If you share it with the wrong people too early, their fear can become your fear. Sometimes you have to protect your dream until it's strong enough to withstand someone else's opinion. Final Thought Not everyone gets a vote. Listen to people who have been where you're trying to go. Learn from people who are living the kind of life you want to create. And remember... Just because someone has an opinion doesn't mean it deserves a seat at your table.

30| We're Wiser, Not Superhuman: The Real 50+ Journey

There is also a whole lot that doesn't make the highlight reel. In this episode, I'm having some real, unscripted conversation about what life after 50 actually looks like. Yes, we've gained wisdom. Yes, we've become stronger. But we're also navigating regrets, changing friendships, becoming empty nesters, and figuring out who we are in this next season of life. If you've ever thought, "I love this stage of life...but it's also a lot," this episode is for you. In This Episode The "should've, would've, could've" thoughts that sneak in after 50 and how to stop letting them steal today. Why we still care what people think more than we'd like to admit. The reality of friendships changing and why it's okay to outgrow people. The emotional roller coaster of becoming an empty nester and rediscovering yourself. Why being over 50 doesn't mean we've got it all figured out. My Biggest Takeaway We're wiser. We're stronger. But we're still human. Life after 50 isn't about becoming fearless. It's about learning to move forward even when life still feels messy. Give yourself grace. Stop comparing your behind the scenes to someone else's highlight reel. And remember, you're not behind. You're becoming. Let's Connect I'd love to hear what resonated with you.
