    Band Together: Stand Firm in the Faith | 1 Cor 16:13-23

    SERMON NOTES: What does it mean to stand firm in the faith when life gets hard? In this sermon from 1 Corinthians 16:13–23, we are reminded that the Christian life is a fight—but we were never meant to fight alone. Paul calls believers to be alert, stand firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong, and do everything in love. Pastor Will explores what it means to endure hardship with realistic expectations, cling to the truth of the gospel, and rely on the strength of Christian community. Our faith is grounded in the objective work of the triune God: the Father loved us and chose to save us, Jesus Christ lived and died for our sins, and the Holy Spirit makes us alive and dwells within us. Because of these truths, we can face suffering without losing hope. This message also explores the threats to our faith—including suffering, sin, cultural pressures, and spiritual opposition—and why the local church is essential for helping Christians persevere.     All For Christ: Supporting The Persecuted Church & The Gospel Mission | 1 Cor 16:1-12

In 1 Corinthians 16:1–12, Paul calls the church to support believers who are suffering and to give toward the spread of the gospel. But beneath these practical instructions is a deeper challenge: when we see Christians willing to suffer and sacrifice for Christ, we are reminded of just how worthy Jesus is. In this sermon, “All for Christ,” we look at the persecuted church, the cost of following Jesus, the importance of supporting missionaries and church planters, and the need to remain focused on the mission of the gospel rather than being distracted by petty disagreements. What does the Bible mean by the resurrection of the dead? And why should the promise of resurrection change the way we live today? In this sermon, we explore 1 Corinthians 15:35–58 and Paul’s teaching about the resurrection body. Scripture gives Christians a hope that goes far beyond simply going to heaven. When Christ returns, the dead will be raised, believers will be transformed, and our corruptible, mortal bodies will be clothed with incorruptibility and immortality. The resurrection means that everything broken by sin and death will ultimately be made new. Our weakness will give way to power, corruption to incorruption, and dishonor to glory.     Responding To The Resurrection | 1 Cor 15:20-34

Date: 8/23/26 Speaker: Pastor Jarrian “JayWill” Wilson Passage: 1 Cor 15:20-34 Series: Ratchet & Righteous Sermon Summary: The resurrection of Jesus isn’t simply a truth Christians celebrate once a year at Easter—it changes how we live every day. Because Christ has been raised from the dead and now reigns, those who belong to Him have a future beyond death, sin, shame, and suffering. The resurrection gives believers hope, but it also calls for a response: to turn away from sin, resist the influences that pull us away from God, confess what is happening in our hearts, and live Monday through Saturday as people who genuinely believe that Jesus is risen and reigning. Just as the first fruit gives an indication of what is to come from the harvest, Christ’s resurrection points toward the future resurrection and life of those who belong to Him. 2. We are called to come to our senses, turn from sin, and live as people who believe the resurrection is real. 5. Confession and examination help us live in light of the resurrection. Pastor JayWill offers a simple practice of examining the day before going to bed: - Where did I see God’s hands today? - Where did I hear God’s voice today? - In what ways did I disobey God today? The goal isn’t shame, but bringing our hearts honestly before the resurrected Savior. 6. Our identity isn’t ultimately defined by our shame or our past. Because of Christ, believers are called sons and daughters and are being made glorious through the work of the Spirit. Our past, our shame, and our failures don’t have the final word about who we are. Reflection Questions: 1. If I truly believe that Jesus is risen and reigning, what should look different about the way I live Monday through Saturday? 2. What area of my life am I currently living as though the resurrection isn’t powerful enough to change me? 3. Are there relationships, habits, influences, or patterns that are pulling me back toward the life Christ has called me to leave behind? 4. What shame, guilt, or part of my past do I need to bring honestly before Jesus rather than allowing it to define me? 5. As I reflect on today, where did I see God’s presence, where did I hear His voice, and where did I resist or disobey Him? Put It Into Practice: Before going to bed each night this week, spend a few minutes examining your day. Thank God for where you saw His presence, consider where you heard His voice, and honestly acknowledge where you disobeyed Him. Bring those things to Christ in confession and prayer.

    Reconcile Stories | From Anger At God To Serving The City | Sebastian

    What happens when you grow up hearing about Jesus but don’t see the life-changing power of the gospel around you? In this episode of Reconcile Stories, Sebastian shares his journey from growing up in church and becoming angry at God after moving overseas, through a season of substance abuse, brokenness, and spiritual searching, to discovering forgiveness, faith, and ultimately a calling to ministry. Sebastian talks honestly about the questions that shaped his view of God, including why suffering and injustice made him angry and how a difficult season in his life eventually led him to seriously consider what he believed. He also shares how a mentor helped him begin pursuing truth and understanding forgiveness, and how God used brokenness to draw him toward a deeper faith. The conversation then turns toward Sebastian’s experience at Reconcile Community Church and what he has learned about ministry in a community that is different from the one he grew up in.
