    The Truth About Self-Judgment (S.2 Ep. 201)

Send us Fan Mail The Truth About Self-Judgment (S.2 Ep. 201) Finding Balance: How to Judge Yourself Kindly Exploring the importance of self-judgment and gratitude in our lives. Good morning! Let's dive into the concept of self-judgment and the art of being kind to ourselves. The Fine Line of Self-Judgment Jessy Revivo emphasizes that while we are naturally inclined to judge ourselves, it’s crucial to find a balance. Judging ourselves too harshly can leave us stagnant, but too much leniency can hinder our growth. Finding that middle ground is key. As Jessy puts it, **"The only way that the evil inclination wins is when you stay down."**  Recapping the Five Rules In this episode, Jessy wraps up the fifth rule of self-judgment by summarizing the first four: 1. **You are a good person.** Remember that you are not inherently wicked. 2. **Living in a fantasy.** Don’t fall into despair when you make mistakes; acknowledge your humanity. 3. **Seek help.** You can’t overcome your challenges alone; enlist your creator. 4. **Desire is key.** Your desire to improve is what you can control. 5. **Be happy with your lot in life.** This final rule resonates deeply. Finding Happiness in Your Circumstances Jessy shares that happiness with your lot does not only refer to material possessions but also about recognizing the spiritual journey you are on. **"Everything that happens to you is designed for your growth,"** he reminds us. It’s about acknowledging both the good and the potential difficulties that could have arisen.  During a recent walk, Jessy reflected on the smooth transitions in his life and pointed out that expressing gratitude means considering the challenges that didn’t occur. **"If you really want to amp up your level of gratitude, think about all the things that could have happened but didn’t."**  Acknowledging Our Imperfections Jessy encourages us to accept our flaws and understand that we are here to improve them. If we recognize that we have character traits to work on, we can approach our challenges with a more grounded perspective. **"The life is custom crafted for you,"** he states, which emphasizes the uniqueness of our journeys. The Importance of Daily Reflection To really understand ourselves, Jessy advises dedicating time for personal prayer and reflection each day. This practice allows us to assess our lives calmly and joyously, enabling us to grow rather than dwell in negativity.  As we continue our journeys, let’s remember to judge ourselves with kindness, recognizing both our strengths and areas for growth.   For more insights, be sure to check out the full episode! #thetrustfactorpodcast #JewishWisdom https://linktr.ee/thetrustfactorpodcast Support the show #thetrustfactorpodcast  #jewishpodcasts https://linktr.ee/thetrustfactorpodcast?utm_source=linktree_profile_share<sid=5e7b9d2d-0e7a-4737-a552-0699102e6f25 Torah wisdom, Shaar HaBitachon, Gate of Trust, Jewish spirituality, personal growth Torah, bitachon, emunah, Torah lessons daily, Jewish personal development, overcoming anxiety Torah, faith-based confidence, emotional strength Judaism, purpose and meaning, how to trust God, Mussar teachings, Jewish life, guidance, spiritual resilience, community leadership, Jewish community leaders, spiritual mentors, faith-based conversations, inspirational Jewish interviews, Jewish motivation, trust in God, spiritual mindset

Consequences, Not Punishments (S2. Ep. 200)

Send us Fan Mail Key Principles for Personal Growth and Overcoming Challenges Exploring the foundations of self-improvement and resilience. In this episode of the Trust Factor Podcast, Jessy Revivo takes us through essential principles that guide personal growth and resilience. With a mix of reflection and actionable insights, he shares valuable lessons that we can apply in our daily lives. The Essence of Goodness Jessy emphasizes the importance of recognizing our innate goodness. He reminds us that if we are engaging with this content, we are likely among those who strive to be better. **"Give yourself a pat on the back. You're in a category of people who are destined to succeed in this life."** This affirmation serves as a solid foundation for personal development. Facing the Reality of Imperfection The second principle addresses the common pitfall of comparing ourselves to others. Jessy states, **"No one is all good with no evil. It doesn't exist."** Acknowledging that everyone has flaws allows us to embrace our humanity and focus on improvement without the pressure of perfection. The Role of the Evil Inclination Jessy discusses the concept of the evil inclination, stating that **"we can't overcome our inclination unless we enlist the help of our creator."** This highlights the necessity of seeking support in our journey towards betterment, reinforcing that we are not alone in our struggles. Cultivating Desire for Improvement The fourth principle centers on desire, which Jessy describes as the driving force behind our actions. **"We have the free choice to want to improve. Even if we don't succeed in doing so, we can always desire."** This emphasizes that the desire to change is a powerful first step in our journey. Action is Key Finally, Jessy stresses the importance of translating inspiration into action. **"Inspiration is nothing without action."** By taking concrete steps toward our goals, we harness the power of our intentions and move closer to achieving them. As we reflect on these principles, it becomes clear that personal growth is a journey filled with challenges and opportunities. The knowledge we gain along the way can empower us to overcome obstacles and strive for a more fulfilling life.   For a deeper dive into these insights, tune in to the full episode. #thetrustfactorpodcast   #JewishWisdom https://linktr.ee/thetrustfactorpodcast Support the show #thetrustfactorpodcast  #jewishpodcasts https://linktr.ee/thetrustfactorpodcast?utm_source=linktree_profile_share<sid=5e7b9d2d-0e7a-4737-a552-0699102e6f25 Torah wisdom, Shaar HaBitachon, Gate of Trust, Jewish spirituality, personal growth Torah, bitachon, emunah, Torah lessons daily, Jewish personal development, overcoming anxiety Torah, faith-based confidence, emotional strength Judaism, purpose and meaning, how to trust God, Mussar teachings, Jewish life, guidance, spiritual resilience, community leadership, Jewish community leaders, spiritual mentors, faith-based conversations, inspirational Jewish interviews, Jewish motivation, trust in God, spiritual mindset

    Overcoming Negative Thoughts (S.2, Ep.199)

Send us Fan Mail Overcoming Negative Thoughts (S.2, Ep.199) The Power of Repetition in Learning and Life How consistent review can lead to personal growth and understanding. Good morning! Today, we dive into the transformative power of repetition, as discussed in the latest episode of the Trust Factor Podcast. Jessy Revivo shares profound insights on how consistent review not only enhances our learning but also impacts our emotional and spiritual well-being. The Challenge of Learning Gemara Jessy begins by reflecting on the difficulties many face when learning Gemara, a complex and ancient text. He emphasizes that the struggle is not uncommon, and shares his experience with a program called Kenyon Masekta, which revolutionized his approach to learning. The key takeaway? **Repetition is paramount.**   Every session encourages students to review and reinforce their understanding, ensuring that the principles learned are firmly grasped. "Every time I would learn with somebody, that person would ultimately finish the class by saying, 'Go home and review.' And what would happen? Nothing. Nobody would go home and review because we're too busy." The Importance of Emotional Well-Being Transitioning to a deeper theme, Jessy explores the creator's principal complaint against humanity: **sadness.** He discusses the biblical story of Cain and Abel, where Hashem's focus was not on Cain's sin but on his emotional state.   This leads to a powerful realization: maintaining our emotional health is crucial.   "Hashem is much more concerned with your emotional and physical well-being than with any single mitzvah." Joy as a Path to Growth Jessy eloquently explains the connection between joy and personal growth. He cites **Nachman of Brezlev**, who teaches that penitence, or chuva, is only possible when done in a state of joy. This joy allows individuals to regain control over their thoughts and actions, enabling them to reflect and grow positively. "Once he is happy, he can properly assess himself and get close to the creator. That's why joy is the key that releases him from the mental and emotional prison that he's in." Overcoming Setbacks The conversation shifts to dealing with setbacks and mistakes. Jessy reassures us that everyone makes mistakes and that what truly matters is our ability to rise again. He encourages listeners to focus on their good qualities and to appreciate the positive impact they can have on the world. "Even if he would commit the worst sin in the world, he wouldn’t fall into despair and depression. You pick yourself up and move forward." In closing, Jessy reminds us that joy and gratitude are powerful tools for transformation. By focusing on the good within ourselves, we can not only uplift our spirits but also create positive change in the world around us. Have an amazing day, my friends. Don't Worry, Be Happy (S.2 Ep. 198)

Send us Fan Mail Refining Our Relationship with the Creator Exploring our struggles and growth through Divine guidance.  In this episode of the Trust Factor Podcast, we delve into the profound relationship we share with our creator and the challenges posed by our own inclinations. Drawing insights from the *Universal Garden of Emuna* by Rabbi Shalom Arush, we reflect on how the Creator views us and the expectations set forth in our spiritual journeys. Understanding Divine Perspectives Jessy Revivo highlights a comforting truth: our creator does not harbor baseless complaints about us. Instead, He sees potential and goodness within us. As Jessy articulates, "The creator doesn't sit around thinking, 'What a terrible creation I have.' If anything, He does the exact opposite. "This perspective is crucial as it encourages us to view our shortcomings not as failures, but as opportunities for growth. Just like a parent who lovingly guides a child, Hashem understands our struggles and urges us to keep trying, no matter how many attempts it may take. The Nature of Commandments A key insight from this discussion is the acknowledgment that some commandments may seem unattainable at first. Jessy reminds us that "there are commandments that you won't be able to fulfill until you refine your negative character traits." This refinement comes through learning and growth, particularly through the study of Torah, which acts as an antidote to life’s challenges.  Jessy emphasizes the importance of seeking divine assistance in our endeavors, encouraging listeners to verbalize their struggles and desires: "Ask for the things that you need and let Him know that you know that you can’t do this without Him.  "The Journey of Learning The episode also touches on the transformative power of learning. As Jessy shares, engaging with Torah study can renew our spirits and provide unexpected energy: "Even if the material goes over my head, I come out of a Torah class... with a spring in my step.  "This experience of learning, even amidst challenges, is likened to parenting—understanding that growth is a process. Jessy states, "You can aspire to greatness, but unless and until you learn enough to refine your character, you simply will not be able to achieve these things.  "Reflections on Growth Ultimately, this episode invites us to embrace our journeys with patience and faith. Jessy’s reflections remind us that every day offers new opportunities for improvement and connection with our creator. As we navigate our challenges, it's essential to remember that our efforts, however small, are valued and supported.  For a deeper dive into these insights, I encourage you to listen to the full episode. #thetrustfactorpodcast    #jewishwisdom   https://linktr.ee/thetrustfactorpodcast Support the show #thetrustfactorpodcast  #jewishpodcasts https://linktr.ee/thetrustfactorpodcast?utm_source=linktree_profile_share<sid=5e7b9d2d-0e7a-4737-a552-0699102e6f25 Torah wisdom, Shaar HaBitachon, Gate of Trust, Jewish spirituality, personal growth Torah, bitachon, emunah, Torah lessons daily, Jewish personal development, overcoming anxiety Torah, faith-based confidence, emotional strength Judaism, purpose and meaning, how to trust God, Mussar teachings, Jewish life, guidance, spiritual resilience, community leadership, Jewish community leaders, spiritual mentors, faith-based conversations, inspirational Jewish interviews, Jewish motivation, trust in God, spiritual mindset

Overcoming Depression And Anxiety: The Path to Success (S.2 Ep. 197)

Send us Fan Mail Embracing Setbacks on the Path to Growth How to transform failures into stepping stones for success Good morning, friends. Today, I want to share some reflections on the journey of self-improvement and the importance of recognizing our setbacks as part of our growth. The Cycle of Growth Life is full of ups and downs, and it's easy to feel disheartened when we face challenges. Recently, I received a message from someone who was struggling with harsh self-judgment. It's a common theme; we all want to excel and be great, but when we stumble, it often feels like a failure. However, it's essential to remember that these moments are not setbacks but invitations to grow. "It's supposed to be a reminder that you're human." When we encounter difficulties, it’s crucial to acknowledge our feelings without being overly critical of ourselves. Each challenge is like a spiritual gym, designed to strengthen our character. The Power of Acknowledgment Recognizing that we have erred is the first step to moving forward.  "Confess and move forward. That's all we need to do." We need to stop beating ourselves up over mistakes. Instead, let’s learn from them. The cycle of failure and repentance is a part of our journey, and as long as we keep trying, we can continue to improve. Understanding Our Struggles Many of us battle feelings of inadequacy, often driven by fear. Fear can motivate us, but it can also paralyze us if we let it.  "Anxiety is another word for fear." Recognizing this can help us break the cycle of despair. When we learn to assess our missteps honestly, we transform failures into lessons, which ultimately leads to growth. The Creator's Perspective Remember, the creator knows us better than anyone. He understands our struggles and is there to help us overcome our inclinations towards negativity.  "Stop being so hard on yourself." It’s vital to approach our lives with a sense of grace and understanding, knowing that we have the opportunity to try again every day. In closing, let’s remind ourselves that failure is only real if we fail to learn from our mistakes. Every lesson learned is a step towards success. Embrace the journey and recognize that each setback is simply a setup for a comeback. May you find strength in your struggles and continue to grow from them.   For more insights, tune into the full episode of the Trust Factor Podcast. #thetrustfactorpodcast       #jewishwisdom    https://linktr.ee/thetrustfactorpodcast Support the show #thetrustfactorpodcast  #jewishpodcasts https://linktr.ee/thetrustfactorpodcast?utm_source=linktree_profile_share<sid=5e7b9d2d-0e7a-4737-a552-0699102e6f25 Torah wisdom, Shaar HaBitachon, Gate of Trust, Jewish spirituality, personal growth Torah, bitachon, emunah, Torah lessons daily, Jewish personal development, overcoming anxiety Torah, faith-based confidence, emotional strength Judaism, purpose and meaning, how to trust God, Mussar teachings, Jewish life, guidance, spiritual resilience, community leadership, Jewish community leaders, spiritual mentors, faith-based conversations, inspirational Jewish interviews, Jewish motivation, trust in God, spiritual mindset

This Too Shall Pass: Finding Balance in Life's Ups and Downs (S.2 Ep. 196)

Send us Fan Mail Moving Forward: Embracing Life's Journey Explore the power of small steps and the wisdom of acceptance. Good morning, friends. In today’s episode of the Trust Factor Podcast, Jessy Revivo shares profound insights on the journey of life, emphasizing the importance of confessing our struggles and moving forward. This conversation revolves around the idea that the desire to do good is what makes us righteous, and how we can navigate our personal growth without overwhelming ourselves. Setting the Bar Low   Jessy reminds us that sometimes we set unrealistic expectations for ourselves, leading to fear of failure. Our Creator, in His wisdom, sets the bar low to encourage our efforts. As Jessy mentions, "If I set the bar too high, the odds are you're not even going to make an effort." This gentle nudge invites us to take baby steps — start small, and gradually incorporate positive changes into our lives. The Power of Gratitude   A significant theme in today’s discussion is the importance of being content with our current situation. Jessy highlights the teachings from Pirke avot: "Who is the wealthy person? The one who is happy with his lot in life." This perspective encourages us to express gratitude for everything, even the challenges we face. Recognizing that every experience, good or bad, is part of our journey fosters a deeper connection with our Creator. Embracing Imperfection   As Jessy shares his personal story about a new car that was damaged, he reflects on how every situation, even setbacks, serves a purpose. "Hashem runs the world," he states, reminding us that acceptance of our circumstances is crucial. By acknowledging our imperfections and tribulations, we open ourselves to growth and healing. Life's Roller Coaster   Jessy offers a powerful reminder that life is not linear. "Life ebbs and flows. Sometimes you're on top, sometimes you're on the bottom." This mantra, "This too shall pass," serves as a guiding light through both our highs and lows. By accepting the transient nature of life, we can cultivate resilience and appreciation for every moment. In closing, Jessy emphasizes that the journey of self-improvement starts and stops with us. By understanding our shortcomings and seeking help from our Creator, we can truly grow. Remember, whether you find yourself on a high or a low, this too shall pass. Let these insights inspire you as you navigate your own path. For more wisdom and relatable stories, be sure to listen to the full episode. God's Tests: Matched to Your Abilities (S.2, Ep. 195)

Send us Fan Mail Navigating Life's Challenges with Grace Embrace the journey of self-improvement and resilience. Good morning! Today, we delve into profound insights about the journey of self-improvement and the struggles we face along the way. Jessy Revivo guides us through the intricacies of our character traits, the challenges of growth, and the powerful role of our desires. The Lifelong Journey of Self-Improvement Jessy emphasizes that true change is not instantaneous. "Penitence and self-retification are a long process... It can take a lifetime." This notion resonates deeply as we reflect on our personal growth journeys, realizing that perfection in character is not a switch we can flip but a continuous endeavor. Overcoming Challenges The process of overcoming our flaws is often daunting. Jessy shares, "The greater the challenge, the greater the effort that's required, but the greater the reward." This sentiment serves as a reminder that the obstacles we face are not only tests of our capabilities but also opportunities for significant personal rewards. Understanding Our Capabilities It's crucial to recognize that we are not given challenges beyond our abilities. "The creator does not expect something from you that you are not capable of." This profound understanding can shift our mindset when faced with adversity, reassuring us that we have the strength to confront our tests. The Power of Desire Our desires play a pivotal role in our journey. Jessy notes, "Simply by desiring to do good... you are already considered an upright individual." This highlights the importance of intention in our actions. The desire to improve, to connect with our Creator, and to overcome difficulties is a significant part of our spiritual journey. The Role of Prayer Jessy also emphasizes the importance of expressing our desires through prayer. "When a person prays, you're desiring to do good." This act not only clarifies our intentions but also helps us align our actions with our true desires. Prayer becomes a powerful tool in our quest for growth and connection. Reflection on Success Ultimately, Jessy reminds us that success is not solely about outcomes but about the effort and desire behind our actions. "The outcome is not in our control... but our desires and the action that we take are." This perspective shift frees us from the burden of perfection and allows us to embrace the journey itself. As we navigate our paths, let’s remember that the struggles we face are part of our growth. We have the power to rise above our challenges, and every step taken with intention brings us closer to our true selves.
