Together with Nicky, the band talks about their special connection to Germany, their favorite memories with German fans and why they always love coming back. They share stories from shows in Hamburg and Berlin, their appreciation for great food and cold beer and even a family story involving a classic German Mercedes. Of course, they also dive into the music. Midland reveals which of their songs their wives love most, which tracks they consider their most romantic - or most heartbreaking - and offer some fascinating behind-the-scenes insights into their songwriting. Tyler has been back to Berlin several times now and when he talks about C2C, it doesn’t sound like just another tour stop. It sounds like coming home. Like pulling into a driveway where the porch light’s already on and someone’s waiting inside. There’s something about this festival that feels less like an event and more like a gathering - a little family that reconnects once a year. That’s exactly how it felt for us, too. In this conversation, Tyler opens up about what country music really means to him. Not just a genre. Not just a sound. But storytelling. Real stories. Songs with a little dust on their boots and truth in their bones. The kind of songs that don’t try to be perfect - they just try to be honest. We talk about the special energy of the Berlin crowd, the way artists and fans connect here and why country music seems to be growing all over the world right now. In a time when so much feels polished, filtered, or artificially created, there’s something powerful about standing on a stage with nothing but a guitar and a story that actually happened. One of the most touching parts of the episode is when Tyler shares about the “Sad Song Society” rounds — intimate songwriter circles where artists don’t just perform, they explain. They laugh. Sometimes they choke up. They let you see where the song came from. And in those moments, you realize vulnerability isn’t weakness - it’s the bridge.
