Listening To The Genius Within - With Special Guest, Tama Kieves

What happens when you achieve everything you were "supposed to" and still feel that quiet pull that there has to be more? In this episode, Artemis sits down with Tama Kieves - Harvard Law honours graduate turned bestselling author, speaker and A Course in Miracles teacher - for a conversation about courage, calling, and learning to trust the voice inside that the world so often trains us to ignore. Tama takes us back to the moment she threw her cap in the air at Harvard graduation, only to feel it land as something heavy. On partnership track at a major firm and "doing really well," she was deeply unhappy, until a single question changed everything: if you've been this successful doing something you don't even love, what could you do with what you love? She shares why she believes it's "more practical to be magical," why following your calling doesn't always mean leaving your profession (some are called to leave, some to go deeper, some to do the same work in a wholly different spirit), and why none of your training is ever wasted - you went to school to expand your opportunities, not to be imprisoned by them. Along the way, Tama unpacks the heart of her newest book, Learning to Trust Yourself: the difference between the inner voice of love and the inner voice of fear, why high achievers mistake self-criticism for self-wareness, and a powerful "inspired self" dialogue practice she describes as putting the prosecution and the defence on the page. She also shares - for the first time on a podcast - the story of a forgotten handout, an inner nudge, and the ABC News opportunity that followed. This is a conversation for anyone standing at a threshold, especially the lawyer sitting in the car who isn't sure they can walk back into the office. As Tama reminds us: there's nothing wrong with your life, there's already a path, and you don't have to walk it alone. In this episode: Why the Harvard cap felt heavy, not light and the question that began everything "It's more practical to be magical": rethinking what practical really means Leave, go deeper, or do it differently - why the form matters less than the motivation Which inner voice are you listening to? Love vs. fear, strength vs. weakness Why your training is never wasted The "inspired self" writing practice - the prosecution and the defence on the page The forgotten handout that led to ABC News A closing word for anyone who can't quite walk through the door About Tama Kieves: Tama Kieves, an honours graduate of Harvard Law School, left her law practice to write and help others live and breathe their most meaningful self-expression. She's the bestselling author of five books, including her newest, Learning to Trust Yourself: Breaking Through the Blocks that Hold You Back. Featured in USA Today, Oprah media, TEDx and more, she's a sought-after speaker and visionary career/success coach who has helped thousands worldwide discover and thrive in the life, calling and work of their dreams. She's also taught A Course in Miracles for years, and is known for her smart, spitfire spirituality, electric humour, and the big possibilities she brings out in others. Prescribing Lifestyle - With Special Guest, Dr. Avi Charlton

What happens when a doctor realises the system they were trained in isn’t actually creating health? In this powerful episode of Emergence: Leading from the Field, we sit down with Dr. Avi Charlton - GP, author, and lifestyle medicine advocate - to explore her journey from conventional medicine to a radically different approach: prescribing lifestyle instead of just medication. After a deeply personal turning point, Dr. Charlton began questioning the “eat less, move more” model and the over-reliance on quick fixes. What followed was a complete shift in how she understands health, uncovering the profound impact of nutrition, metabolic health, stress, sleep, and even the way we breathe. Together, we unpack: Why modern healthcare is largely reactive and what’s missing The surprising truth about weight loss and why calorie counting often fails How low-carb nutrition can transform energy, metabolism, and chronic disease The hidden role of stress and cortisol in conditions like diabetes, anxiety, and burnout Simple, practical tools, like breathing techniques, to regulate your nervous system Why behaviour change is so hard (and how to actually make it stick) The shift from patient dependency to true health ownership Dr. Charlton also shares the realities of challenging the status quo within the medical community and why she’s committed to building a movement where lifestyle becomes the first prescription. This conversation is both empowering and deeply practical, offering a new lens on what it really means to take control of your health in a fast-paced, high-stress world. If you’ve ever felt stuck in a cycle of quick fixes, low energy, or conflicting health advice this episode will change how you think about wellbeing. The Children's Advocate - With Special Guest, Nicolle Kopping-Pavars

In this powerful episode of Emergence: Leading from the Field, host Artemis Evangelidi sits down with children’s lawyer and “Kindness Ambassador” Nicolle Kopping-Pavars for a deeply moving conversation about compassion, trauma, and conscious leadership within the legal system. Nicolle shares her journey from traditional family law practice to exclusively advocating for children in high-conflict cases,  driven by her belief that children are wise, perceptive, and too often unheard. Drawing from her own childhood experience of divorce, she speaks candidly about why children need a voice in the justice system and how they are frequently misunderstood, pressured, or placed in emotional roles that are not theirs to carry. Together, Artemis and Nicolle explore whether the adversarial legal system is truly “broken” — or simply wounded — and how unaddressed trauma within individuals can ripple outward into institutions. Nicolle offers a compelling reframe: systems don’t need to be discarded; they need healing. The conversation dives into: The emotional toll of family litigation on children and parents Why children in conflict often “protect” rather than lie How mindfulness, trauma awareness, and emotional intelligence can transform legal practice The importance of boundaries and wellbeing within the legal profession Nicolle’s groundbreaking Compassionate Integration Process, a trauma-responsive model that places families — not professionals — at the center of resolution The power of kindness as a conscious leadership practice Blending legal insight with spirituality, mindfulness, and practical courtroom experience, Nicolle demonstrates how one person can shift the energy of an entire room — and why healing our internal conflict is essential to resolving external disputes. This episode is an invitation to lead from where you stand, to regulate your own nervous system before attempting to change the world, and to remember that even within adversarial systems, compassion is a radical and transformative force. Nicolle is based in Canada, and you can follow her on LinkedIn or visit her website here. To learn more about our host, Artemis Evangelidi, visit www.aipeia.com

Embodied Leadership - With Special Guest, Scott Robinson

In this episode, Artemis Evangelidi speaks with Scott Robinson, who has spent over two decades in the world of finance while also pioneering a unique path as the founder of Yogi Banker. Scott shares his journey from studying commerce and law in Sydney, to building a high-powered career in London and New York, and how a series of pivotal moments led him to yoga, mindfulness, and energy practices like Reiki.   He reflects on how an openness to new experiences helped him balance the intensity of banking with practices that reconnected him to his breath, presence, and inner stillness. What began as personal exploration became teaching and creating well-being programs for colleagues, eventually leading to DB Yoga at Deutsche Bank, where his classes and mindfulness sessions supported people through stress, grief, and everyday challenges.   Scott and Artemis discuss the importance of “unlearning” rigid roles and allowing space for new aspects of ourselves to emerge. Scott highlights that well-being is not one-size-fits-all: what matters is finding practices that resonate—whether yoga, meditation, Qigong, or something else—and committing to them with curiosity and consistency. This conversation explores how professional success and inner wellbeing can not only coexist but enrich each other, offering a holistic perspective on living and working with balance.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Scott Robinson is a Director at Deutsche Bank (UK) in the Transaction Policy & Advisory Group, a certified yoga and mindfulness teacher, and the founder of Yogibanker — a platform supporting health, wellbeing, and conscious leadership in the financial sector.   Combining decades of experience in finance with a deep commitment to inner development, Scott helps professionals manage stress, enhance resilience, and build sustainable wellbeing in high-pressure environments. His journey began in response to the demands of the industry and led to transformative practices that brought greater clarity, balance, and strength — both personally and professionally.   Through yoga, mindfulness, and a relational approach to leadership, Scott now supports others in reconnecting with their values and cultivating a healthier, more compassionate culture in finance — one where performance and wellbeing go hand in hand.   Scott is currently in London UK - you can connect with him via LinkedIn or visit his website at www.yogibanker.com    To connect with our host, visit www.aipeia.com

The Self-Coached Lawyer - With Special Guest, Whitney Harvey

Emergence. Leading from the Field — Episode 10: "The Self-Coached Lawyer" In this podcast episode, Whitney Harvey shares her personal journey into the legal profession and how it ultimately led her to found The Self-Coached Lawyer. Raised by a single mother who encouraged her to pursue law to secure a stable future, Whitney was inspired to enter the legal field after a formative experience visiting a traffic court judge — the father of a childhood friend — which shaped her vision of a successful and influential life. Over time, Whitney recognized her innate ability and passion for advocacy, not just in the courtroom but in broader contexts. Her path evolved as she navigated career challenges largely on her own, which highlighted the importance of self-coaching and informed decision-making. Early in her legal career, her exposure to a women lawyers’ business development coaching group sparked her interest in the coaching space. This experience, combined with her own professional struggles and growth, laid the foundation for her future work in supporting attorneys through coaching and consulting. Whitney emphasizes that while legal education prepares students for technical and analytical aspects of law, it often neglects vital skills like emotional regulation, coping strategies, and interpersonal communication — gaps she now aims to fill through her workshops and trainings. She highlights the importance of helping legal professionals reconnect with their sense of purpose, which often diminishes under the pressures of legal practice. By reframing their work — for example, seeing themselves as healers supporting clients through difficult situations — attorneys can regain motivation, resilience, and fulfillment in their careers. Both Whitney and Artemis stress the need for cultural shifts in legal education and practice to better support lawyer well-being, emotional intelligence, and empowerment, paving the way for a healthier and more sustainable legal profession. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Whitney M. Harvey, Esq. is the founder and principal of The Self Coached Lawyer, LLC, a coaching and consulting practice dedicated to empowering legal professionals to achieve life-work balance, reconnect with their passion for the law, and thrive in their careers. Based in the Greater Phoenix area, Whitney is a practicing attorney, educator, and thought leader committed to transforming professional norms in the legal field. With nearly 15 years of experience as a successful litigator, Whitney now balances her legal practice with coaching, teaching, and consulting. Her work is inspired by her observations of systemic challenges in the legal profession that impact well-being, career satisfaction, and diversity. She is driven to create a more inclusive, sustainable, and purpose-driven approach to law and leadership. Whitney employs a transformational step-by-step coaching framework to help legal professionals align their personal missions with their legal careers. Her coaching focuses on managing time and stress effectively, integrating mindful law practices, and fostering innovative approaches to creative problem-solving. At the executive level, she partners with leaders to build inclusive cultures of well-being and craft actionable strategies to achieve both organizational and personal goals. In addition to her coaching and legal practice, Whitney serves as an adjunct faculty member, where she designed and teaches the course “Legal Aspects of Diversity in the Workplace” in the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship at ASU's W. P. Carey School of Business. This role reflects her passion for educating future leaders on the intersection of law, equity, and organizational culture. Whitney holds a Juris Doctor from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University and is pursuing a Ph.D. in General Psychology with a focus on Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Recognized as a 40 Under 40 Honoree (PHX 2023) and a Rising Star by Super Lawyers, she brings a wealth of expertise, innovation, and dedication to every aspect of her work.
